Top Algarve Dolphin Watching

Amazing family experience complete with a curious, playful, multi-generational pod of common dolphins, to “raining” gannats as they dove for fish the dolphins circled up, to exploring a beautiful set of caves! Our favorite was Paradise cave…absolutely stunning spectrum of colors shining in the afternoon sun contrasted against the blue skies above! Capitan Pedro and Marine Biologist Oliver were both knowledgeable, fun-loving, and went out of their way to provide an amazing family adventure! They even shared the underwater GoPro video of the dolphins we saw, offering a view of the beautiful creatures in their natural habitat to compliment the show we saw on the surface. Overall first class trip and personalized service! 10/10 stars! Don’t just take a group cave tour…this immersive experience is much more memorable, and you get both…the caves and the dolphins…without the big crowd. You won’t regret a second of it!

The experience was excellent! Guides were knowledgeable scientists and valued safety and ethics for the passengers and the dolphins. My only problem was that the seats were very uncomfortable. After so much time, it genuinely hurt. And they were very close together, so I imagine for bigger people, this tour may be almost impossible to do:( But we got some really incredible, closeup views of the dolphins (one was so close it even splashed us)! We saw common and bottlenose dolphins; they swam under and around the boat and it was just beautiful! Definitely wear a high SPF sunscreen because that ocean sun will burn you

We had a talk beforehand which explained the difference between the dolphins we might see and then we boarded our rib, which took us out to see. We had been told to look for bird life and sure enough, when we saw loots of seabirds flying n an area, we saw the dolphins. It was magical. We were out at sea for around an hour I think just watching dolphins. Our guide was able to tell us more about them and pointed out nursery pods, mating pairs and courting dolphins. She also answered questions asked knowledgeably. The journey out to see was exhilaratingly fast and the return journey was the same but bumpier due to slightly rougher seas. It was definitely a memorable experience which was value for money.
