Chris gave us a wonderful tour of Tijuana. He explained the background of all the sights and was flexible when we asked to change the itinerary to add more opportunities for handicraft shopping.
Dianne_L, Feb 2026
This was an interesting introduction to the city of Tijuana, including the old downtown, the beach area and a drive through the more upscale Zona Rio. We had 4 food stops, a tequila tasting and visited 2 museums, making for a full, fun day. Our driver, Denise, was a sweet conversationalist and could cross 3 lanes of busy traffic like a pro.

Eric was a great tour guide. Felt completely safe and comfortable the entire time! Got to try new interesting things and every person we interacted with was very friendly. Be prepared to stand in line tho if you're walking back across the border. It ended around shift change and we stood in line 3 hours to get back into US. Driving was probably the better option.

Great food— beautiful people and culture! The breakfast tacos at Birria Si, the original Caesar Salad at Caesar’s Restaurant, and the churros at the conclusion of the tour were highlights, as well as the chance to visit our notorious border wall at the beach. Ample shopping opportunities were provided on Revolution Street and El Popo. Thank you, Denisse, for the wonderful time we had!

Rodrigo was wonderful to my family during our tour. He was very informative about the history and culture for our first Mexico / Tijuana experience. He was also great with our two young kids and helped explain different things in ways they would understand. I would certainly recommend this company to anyone interested in a fun day in Tijuana.

I book this tour and it WAS AMAZING. Our tour guide was Denisse and her communication through the full process was amazing. I was contacted a few days prior to the excursions. She provider vehicle and precise detailing to how to get to her once we crossed the border.
Her hospitality and presentation throughout the spot were amazing. We visited every spot on the listed itinerary and it was not overwhelming. It felt like we were visiting a cousin and receiving the best of best treatment .
Her driving was amazing and also the extensive background of each spot was amazing.
This tour will not be on the listing of my future guest schedule.
Again AMAZING experience.

Did not go because your company lie and said I would be picked up at the hotel and would accompany us through the Mexican border
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Hello Lidia,
We’re disappointed to read your review, as the information about pickup and border crossing is clearly stated on our Viator listing: “None of our services include border crossings. (NO USA PICKUP).”
Unfortunately, it seems this important detail was overlooked when booking. We cannot be responsible for misunderstandings when the terms are transparent and provided in advance. Our team has never claimed to offer U.S. hotel pickup or border accompaniment, and our listings are accurate.
We always encourage guests to carefully review the details before booking to ensure expectations match the service.

Amazing time exploring the city! Erick was an excellent tour guide. He showed us all the best spots, kept us entertained, and taught us about the history of Tijuana. It was such a blast. And the food was INCREDIBLE. We couldn’t ask for a better trip.
LaToya_N, Jul 2025
This was the greatest experience! We loved our time with Denisse. Oh and we were like almost an hour late crossing the border. And she was so patient.
Valerie_R, Mar 2025
Such a great experience. Artie was awesome. He was super knowledgeable, kind and punctual. We went to some great places. Learned the history of the city and ate delicious food at a very reasonable price. The collectibles museum was a nice surprise. We really enjoyed seeing lots of things from our childhood. I’d recommend this reasonably priced tour to anyone wanting to go to Tijuana.
JESSICA_P, Mar 2025
A tour with Denise was like hanging out with a friend who really knows the city. She did an amazing job showing us around Tijuana. Neither of us had spent any time in the city before, and we wanted an overview of the culture, food and overall vibes, and Denise did not disappoint. We ate amazing tacos, were moved by the parts of the border wall we saw and the stories told, sampled tequila, laughed at the luchador museum and generally had the best time. 💯 recommend!
Brad_M, Feb 2025
One of the best tours I’ve ever had in my life, Denisse was great. Make sure you ask for her, all details were covered, safety, and communication was great, couldn’t ask for anything more, lucky us!
renee, Dec 2024
Our tour guide Denisse was an absolute gem! She was so wonderful. The meals we had were absolutely delicious! My only complaint was that I wasn’t able to eat more, I needed a second stomach! My personal favorite was the birria at the start of our trip. My 9 year old son is not a fan of Mexican food and we found a taco he loved… the steamed taco! We went on a Monday so the museums were all closed, but we thoroughly enjoyed the locations we went to. Some of the highlights were eating a scorpion, the border at the ocean, tequila tasting and visiting the birthplace of the Caesar salad. Having Denisse as our guide eased the stress of trying to do it on our own with children. She also set up a bus ride to cross the border that made it quicker than the normal border crossing. I can’t recommend her enough!
Hsinhwa_L, Dec 2024
Denisse is very knowledgeable and helpful. She is flexible in schedule and gave us very good recommendations for local foods and restaurants. We very much enjoyed our trip with her. The only bad part about this trip was spending extreme long time to cross the border back to US.
Courtney_M, Dec 2024
Our guide was knowledgeable, patient, kind and just an overall good time! Even though food was not included it was SUPER affordable! It was a must!

Trip did not happen
Link for voucher did not work.
An Erik was supposed to contact me and never did.
Spent money got nothing.
Response from Host, Nov 2024
Hello Bernard, my name is Chris owner of Baja Rides and tours, we spoke on the phone on 28th of October and you mentioned that you needed to reschedule, reason why 15 minutes later Erick called and texted you via whatsapp which you didn't answer, afterwards Denisse was able to speak with you on the phone and we agreed to reschedule per your request to Nov 23rd, on Nov 22nd we rescheduled again per your request to Dic 21st. I am truly surprised with your one star review, at NO point did you ask for a refund directly with us or via Viator, up to the moment where you posted the review we had you scheduled for a tour. I guess this isn't happening any more... Feel free to email me if you would like screenshots to support of all of this.
happy holidays !

My daughter and I had a fantastic time on our private tour. Our guide took us to all the tourist places but also places that were off the tourist path but so beautiful to see. Highly recommend.
Rosario_G, Aug 2024
Our tour guide was Arturo. He was great! He told us where we were going before we started driving made sure he was communicating clearly in English and in Spanish. He knew the history of every place we went to. We ate at some local spots that were delicious. First, we had birria, then tamales, then steam tacos. He knew the spots. We felt safe at all times and definitely recommend the tour and Arturo!
Yvonne_E, Aug 2024
Denisse was our guide and she was thoughtful, personable and informative. Even though we live in San Diego, we had never really explored Tijuana. We saw a wide variety of sites and learned a little about the history of the city. This was our grandson's first trip out of the country, and so we really appreciated Denisse's care in making sure it was a good experience for all of us. He especially liked the food.
Response from Host, Aug 2024
Hello Yvonne, thank you for sharing your experience and we are glad you ejoyed your tour with Denisse... hope we get to see you again soon !
jocelyne_u, Jul 2024
Denisse was very pleasant and professional! She reached out the day before the tour with instructions to meet and to answer any questions or concerns, which I appreciated. Throughout the tour she talked about the history of Tijuana, background information and was personable.
The meet up spot was also easy to find. The restaurants and places she took us to were 10/10. Some places were closed due to it being a Monday, but she added her personal touch so it was enjoyable either way. Definitely would recommend this tour!
Response from Host, Aug 2024
Thank you Jocelyn, hope we see you again !
James_H, Jul 2024
This was our second visit to Tijuana with Baja Tours. Our guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. We got to see and experience so many things, but here are our favorites:
Best breakfast: Tacos de birria at a place you would never find by yourself
Best lunch / dinner: Caesars during their 100th anniversary. See if you can visit near the end of the tour for an early dinner for the full effect.
Best place to see: El Museo de la Lucha Libre. Filled with true sentiment and tradition. Say hello to Zaurel León the manager, and he will share many extra things with you.
Best excitement: Mescal shots from a bottle with a rattlesnake. Also, great mariachi at the bar.
Most meaningful: The border wall along the beach, with wonderful murals and locally-tended gardens.
Enjoy! ¡Que disfrutas!

Denisse was such a valuable tour guide! She made traveling around the city very easy and explained everything we wanted to know. Took us to great traditional food places! Fantastic tequila tastings and a grasp on the culture. Fantastic day out, couldn’t imagine doing it without Denisse!
Adam_R, May 2024
I had been to Tijuana a half dozen times but never really experienced the city until I went with a local guide from Baja Rides and Tours. Denisse was wonderful, informative and a joy to be with. My son and I spent the day with her visiting the wall, beach markets, stadium, Caesers Hotel, and many etceteras. We had a really great day trip there from San Diego
Tiffany_c, May 2024
I had the best one on one tour of Tijuana. Seeing the city and all the sites was amazing! Tacos and cerveza too!
mkelsey, Apr 2024
Our guide was excellent and he spoke perfect English. I have a difficult time understanding accents, but there was no problem here at all. Tijuana is a huge, bustling city and you wouldn't want to do this tour on your own. I found the description of the tour to be a little misleading. It says you need $35.00 for food, drinks, tacos and souvenirs. Snacks, breakfast and lunch are not included in the price of the tour. One would think that means we are on our own for meals, but in reality we were rather pressured into eating at certain locations pre-selected by the tour company. There were two taco stops (I refused one) and a very good lunch (not til 2:00 pm) in an upscale, but reasonably priced restaurant. The stated $35.00 per person that we would need is not realistic for three eating venues. Also, the ad says that bottled water is included in the tour, but it was not. Not a big deal, we did not need any, but it shouldn't say that. I guess the most interesting thing was "Trump's Wall." It exists in Tijuana and actually runs right into the ocean. Overall it was a very educational and enjoyable tour.
Herlina_D, Mar 2024
We love breakfast at Birria Si. Our guide Arturo was wonderful. He spoke great English and he showed us around TJ (Tijuana) to places we may never have gone. We felt safe walking through the city and the people were friendly and welcoming. Arturo gave us some history lessons about TJ. He was very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our one day trip to Tijuana. The weather was perfect. My husband and I highly recommend this tour. 👍🏼
Kyra_J, Mar 2024
Denisse was very nice and patient. She was a great tour guide! I feel right at home when touring and she is very knowledgeable.
Rosie_M, Mar 2024
We had a great time and our tour guide was fantastic. He took us to some really fun places. Mexico was beautiful.
Rachmiel_K, Jan 2024
Great guide. He was accommodating to dietary restrictions. He was friendly and knew many things about Tijuana. I felt safe the whole time.
Suzanne_D, Dec 2023
Tijuana was quite intimidating for the uninitiated. This was our family’s first foray into Mexico, and figured a guide was in order.
Our guide was Joe and he intimately knew Tijuana. Anything that piques your interest, he’ll get you there in style. We were interested in tacos, and Joe did not disappoint.
Joe knew all the spots and the food was unbelievable. He took us to Caesars and we got their world-famous salad with the dressing made table-side.
What made the excursion exceptional was our guide. Joe has a great personality and shared his Mexican culture in a fun and informative way. We really enjoyed our time and look forward to visiting Mexico again.
