Itinerary
Look for a person outside of Diocletian’s Palace holding an orange spoon to begin your tour of Split’s cuisine, set against the city’s historical scenery.
Follow your guide a very short distance to reach Split’s Green Market, where you’ll sample meats, cheeses, and “peka” bread, as you learn more about the city’s seasonal produce. With your appetite awoken, walk through the Split Old Town to a tavern that specializes in seafood and pasta, for more tasty dishes, this time accompanied by a local wine.
Make sure you have room for more food though as you continue to the city’s oldest pastry shop for gelato and some sweet treats made from old family recipes. It’s there not far from the Riva Promenade that you’ll say goodbye to your guide.

Natasha was great. If you read nothing else - please read this: COME HUNGRY!! This is not just little sampler plates, there is enough food to consider this a full meal. We got to try some very interesting foods and great wines. We even went back to one of the restaurants the next night and ordered dinner again.
Fun walk with good food and drink. Tour guide (Anna) was knowledgeable, friendly and very funny. We went during the morning, so we walked through the green market and got to see a lot of the vendors, one of which gave us some delicious local cheeses, meats and fruits as well as rakija. The walk also was good going through Diocletian’s Palace and some areas around. Very grateful to also telling us about some of the lesser known places, things to do where to go and where to avoid.
This was an extraordinarily good walking tour for a solo traveler (me) or a group with loads of interesting aspects and personal touches. The guide Nata was particularly skilled in bringing me to notable aspects of architecture historical and cultural importance. She has an ability to present the City of Split Old Town in a top down manner starting with a Birds Eye view and shrinking it down to a personal level - very clever and engaging.
I would highly recommend this tour to orient yourself or get a refresher from a true local. Nata knew all the good places and really sought to include me in the conversations she was having with the locals. It felt more like being shown around by a good friend - exceptional experience!
Lucija, our tour guide, was amazing! She was so knowledgeable and took us to the best local spots for food and wine. We loved every second of this tour!
Excellent experience and guide. The tour was extremely informative & entertaining.
Lucija educated my wife on about the medicinal benefits of some spices that we used at home but never knew the health benefits. Kudoos to her.
The cultural immersion was not lost upon us and was very much appreciated!
Easily the exclamation mark we needed to conclude a fantastic vacation!!
The food and drinks we tasted were really good. Anna, our guide, was very knowledgeable about Croatia’s history so her explanations were very interesting.
The food tour was amazing. Split is a great city to visit with a guide, so, you don't miss the important facts.
Natasha was awesome! She was very knowledgeable about the history of split. Carried us to all the hot spots for wine and food. Left this tour very full!
Excellent food and historical tour - delicious
Local food and rare opportunity to taste fantastic Croatian wine
Natasha was great. Tons of history, food, and recommendations! A must do in Split but come hungry😉 Many photo ops. Recommend the 5 pm tour after the cruise folks are gone
This was the BEST tour we’ve ever taken, says everyone in my family of 9.
Anna was so informative and full of life. She made history fun.
The food was spectacular. We are stuffed
Come hungry! Great food and great guide! Natasha is fantastic! We really appreciated the history and the meals.
Natasha was amazing. She was friendly, fun, and energetic. The food was delicious and plentiful and she was very knowledgeable about the history of the area. She also was so patient and kind for taking the time to return to a restaurant to help retrieve my phone. We highly recommond touring with her.
Lucija did a great job! Being from Split she was very knowledgable and a special treat walking through the market with knowledge of the produce and natural healing uses. We enjoyed her local vendors and the food was plentiful. We did not leave hungry!
You eat till you burst with delicious local food! You also learn lots of interesting details and information about the Roman palace and city.
Great coverage of the old town accompanied by excellent food and fine wine. Natasha was a wonderful guide who spoke with great knowledge and love of her city. This was a very enjoyable tour which I would recommend to others just make sure you go with an appetite!
The food was terrific. I appreciated the fact that Natasha had every stop prepare a gluten free option that was delicious. Natasha was a blast, so much fun. Highly recommend.
Natasha was a great guide through Split, providing a great history lesson, insight into the local culture and a wonderful tasting of local food and wine.
What a fantastic introduction to the history and food of Split. We learned about Split, Diacletian's palace with breaks for delicious food along the way. Natasha was absolutely wonderful! We would highly recommend.
Fantastic ! Do not eat lunch before you go. It’s sooo great with so much food. Natasha is a gem and so knowledgeable.
You will have PLENTY of food! This is worth it, Natasha was absolutely fabulous! Loved everything about this, you get food, wine, history and a great taste of culture. Do this!!
A September or October date might be more comfortable. Anna was a fine and funny guide. Food was delicious and much more than needed. Breakfast lightly if at all!
Natasha was very knowledgeable and engaging. There was too much food though. The second stop with wine and tapas should have been the first. And the third stop with the sausages could have been one small plate for four people after the large meal at the first stop.
Come very hungry! I had a wonderful tour with Natasha. She is very passionate about food and Croatian culture. Highly recommend for solo female travelers- she gave great Croatia travel trips and recommendations.
The food and history tour with Natasha was incredible!!! She was so kind, very knowledgeable about the city and cuisine, told funny jokes throughout the tour, and gave us a ton of recommendations for the rest of our trip. Definitely go hungry because it is a ton of food!
We loved the food tastings and wine. We do a food/gastro experience, walking tour everywhere we go. It's a great way to 'eat' your way through the local cuisine as well as get a feel for what is fresh and available. Natasa, was wonderful. She gave us the history of the Palace and old town as well as other Splint info. The only issue, which she had Zero control over, was the heat. Fortunately a couple of our stops were indoors.
Our guide was absolutely fabulous. She know the history which added so much to the trip. The food was GREAT and she was funny.
Loved it
Great food tour! Plenty of food so come hungry! Very tasty bites and lovely wine!
Natasha was a lovely guide, very knowledgeable about the old town and history of split, we learned a lot and really enjoyed her company! Would definitely recommend!
Perfect guide! Good food, friendly madam but hard to find the location. We had een good time with a small group
This was a fabulous food tour. Natasha was a sweet and bubbly guide, leading us through the diaclecian palace giving us bits of history as well as taking us to 3 various food stops. The food was very good, some of the best we’ve had in our week in Croatia.
