We were concerned about cooking in the heat but that was not an issue. This was one of the highlights of our holiday. The guide was knowledgeable and explained many interesting things as we toured the traditional market, gathering ingredients. Then, the place where the class is conducted was perfect for the job. The chef explained everything clearly and we prepared three course meal. After cooking we sat in a cool gazebo and had our meal served to us. Absolutely wonderful and I would recommend this to anyone.

Best cooking class & caring company in Cambodia

Loved every minute of this experience from the friendly tuk tuk driver pick up (excellent English) to caring host/manager Sophia and head chef Sunat (??). Rather than cancel on me (the only booking) , they provided one of my best days in Cambodia. The market visit was interesting - learning about the different veges and how they flavour their dishes. And the cooking space was a lovely outdoor kitchen, spotless and professional. Both women were wonderful, gracious & caring ambassadors of their culture. I had a fabulous time, all the food was amazing and the recipe booklet the icing on the cake. Thank you/arkun. Highly recommend Beyond Tours. Just wished I’d booked direct on their website as Cambodian women work so hard to deliver an outstanding experience. Love to Kampuchea.

Our tour guide, Sophia, was phenomenal! First we toured a local market. Very authentic and NOT touristy. She explained to us how various items in the market are prepared and we even sampled a few items. After about 45 minutes, we went to the outdoor cooking class. The setting was beautiful. The chef and Sophia taught us how to prepare spring rolls, a chicken curry, and a banana dessert. All delicious. Especially enjoyed receiving a cook book versus a certificate (I mean, who needs a certificate!)

Awesome experience. It was fun, we learned a lot and had a delicious lunch afterward in a beautiful setting. Our guide Sofir and our chef/teacher Pry (sorry for the name misspellings) were so professional, friendly and knowledgeable. We started our class at the market to purchase the ingredients and then made 3 dishes from scratch. We received a great cookbook to take home containing the dishes we made plus other traditional Cambodian recipes. Highly recommend!

Fantastic! I’m a foodie and home cook who has done a number of cooking classes around SE Asia and this is what made Beyond’s experience stand out: - The market is live, thriving, central, local, and Sophia took her time to walk me through, stop and examine, touch and smell produce, look at people making things, visit all parts of the market including parts that might make you queasy. Really appreciated her explanation and insights that come with people not having refrigeration, and cooking fresh every day. - The beautiful rural-ish lakeside training location with pristine kitchen and training setup with expertly trained chef included personal placements (own stove, cutting station, materials) like a real training situation - They were so hospitable, providing fresh cut fruit, pandan tea, cold towels and cold water throughout, in addition to all the food! - Lessons in knifing, grinding, and how to actually make the curry paste (most classes say ‘add this’ hunk of secret ingredient so you can’t replicate!) - I’ve already adapted 3-4 different skills from Cambodian cooking to my repertoire! - Learning cute culinary flourishes like making flowers from scallions, or adding decoration to your spring rolls - Personal support with sitting when tired, food prep, and aesthetically organizing things for pictures and videos to was fun and unexpected - they really do foresee your every need - Dining patio by the lake was so peaceful with full table set and service (seeing your food plated beautifully is a hoot!); huge fish flopped about, a huge bunch of geese flocked back and forth on the road behind me, and sometimes they said there are horses from the neighboring farm. - tuktuk ride to and from the market and training location and hotel was scenic and an experience by itself; navigating both fast highway lanes and pockmarked rural roads past scrawny cows… Definitely recommend! Can’t wait to see my new friends when I eat at the restaurant before Phare the circus (Pray is chef and Sophia serves there too!)

We had such an amazing cooking class with Chef Prey and her lovely assistant Sophai. Cooked 3 yummy dishes. We received a book full of Cambodian recipes as a souvenir. It was so enjoyable! We had so much fun. Thoroughly recommended! Do support them!

I loved the tour started in a market where you get to see how the locals shop and see the different food and herbs. The location is near water which offers a pleasant view that complimented the eating area very well. It was a lovely setup & experience.

I cannot recommend this food shopping and cooking class enough in Siem Reap. I am so glad I did it, as it was the absolute highlight of my trip to Cambodia. Sophia and Sinat were such talented chefs, the food was delicious and the surroundings to eat it were beautiful - by a private lake. It was fantastic to go round the markets and speak to the locals about all the ingredients - very cool.

Such a great cooking school where you actually get to do the cooking. Sopheap and Prey are wonderful. They help you step by step explaining what you are doing, how to do it, and all the spices and ingredients you are using. We started in the market where Sopheap explained all the various foods and talked about how they are used in Cambodian cooking. The kitchen is a beautiful space with fans to keep you cool and a lovely turtle pond to amuse you when not cooking. Everything is very clean. Before starting the class there were mangos and tea for refreshments. After the class, the food was beautifully plated an presented on a patio for dining on the food that had been cooked. A cook book was also provided with many Cambodian recipes to take home. I can highly recommend this class.

An amazing experience and a must try if you are visiting Siem Reap. Seamless pickup and drop off from our hotel. Our guide and chef were very knowledgeable and friendly and really helped us to understand Khmer cuisine. The facilities are also very modern and situated beside a lake which was very peaceful.

This cooking class and market visit were some of the highlights of our holiday. The staff were amazing, they first took us through the local market and showed us different fresh ingredients and explained how these are used for cooking by locals. When we arrived at the location, which was a beautiful farm overseeing a lake, everything was carefully prepared, ready for us to start. We were welcomed with refreshments and we were then guided through the steps of cooking 3 dishes with lots of attention to detail. The ladies teaching us were a high class example of skill, knowledge and patience, as well as humor. They couldn't have been more gracious. At the end when the dishes were ready, were were served in the beautiful setting and were taken care of throughout, receiving also a lovely recipe booklet. We would absolutely highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in a truly local Cambodgian experience.

From start to finish this trip was brilliant. We started with a trip on the tuk tuk to meet our guide at the local market. Our guide Sofia, looked after us showing us around the market and explaining local delicacies. We then headed to the kitchen in the country where we learned to cook 3 dishes with the most delicate flavours. Our chef was excellent and patient! Would highly recommend!

My sister and I had an amazing four hours with our guide and host who went out of her way to ensure we enjoyed the experience. We were first shown around the local market and she (Sophia) explained all the various fruit and vegetables available as well as meat and fish. Then we were taken by tuck tuck to learn to cook a three course Khmer meal with a professional chef. It was such a lot of fun and Jo and I were the only people there. We then got to enjoy what we had cooked, in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Food was delicious. You also recieve a cookery booklet free. If in Seimreap please find time to do this tour. It was well worth it!

Amazing experience in beautiful location

My wife and I had a spare morning in Siem Reap and signed up for this cooking class - it was the best thing we did. The staff are amazing - we had a wonderful tour around the local market and were treated to some local delicacies to taste. Once we arrived at the “kitchen” we were amazed at how beautiful the location was - it was an open air kitchen overlooking a small lake where again we were looked after. All three courses we cooked used different techniques and were extremely tasty. We enjoyed our 3 course lunch that we cooked ourselves in the most pretty setting before being dropped off at our hotel. This really was a 5* experience and very good value for money.

An absolutely exceptional experience with highly knowledgeable guide, and Chef. I cannot thank them enough for the amazing morning that we had with them, all the dishes that we made were bursting with flavour.and had been so carefully thought out. We started the morning with a really comprehensive tour of the local market, where we purchased some items that were used in the dishes. Having individually made the dishes under supervision of the chef, we were treated to a beautiful dining experience overlooking the lake. Would highly recommend to anybody wanting to have a truly Cambodian cooking experience. Fantastic value and wonderful setting and team of staff.

Such an amazing class. We started at the market and our tour was so thorough and detailed. The cooking class had the most beautiful open kitchen over looking the water and our instructors were so helpful and kind. The food was great and the presentation was perfect. If you're doing a cooking class in Siem Reap make sure this is the one you do.

Great Family Fun with hands-on cooking of Cambodian food

There are two parts to the event: the first is the walked through the fresh market, and the second is the actual cooking session. The guide, Sofia, and the chef are very good. They are professional and friendly. The instructions are clear and they say to follow, even for a novice like me. The walked through the market is very interesting. We are able to see all the fresh produces and also immersed in the local atmosphere. I could not give the tour a 5-star because I feel that the company could have done much better in managing the people at the meeting point. Unfortunately the experience was soured due to an inconsiderate couple that decided to be late. We were waiting for the couple for almost 30min at the meeting point. The proposal is that the company should continue with the first part of the event. For the late comers, they should just proceed to part two. This will ensure that punctuality is not being penalised by those inconsiderate people.

This experience was fantastic - the guided market tour by Sophia was very informative and it was great to visit a market that wasn't crawling with tourists! Back at the school, I got to taste a few treats from the market and then had a wonderful time cooking with the chef (made a ton of incredibly delicious food that I couldn't finish!). I'm vegetarian and they adapted easily. Plus, Sophia gave me a tour around the complex while I waited for my tuk tuk. Really warm people and great business.
