Sam was an excellent tour guide being able to give me a lot of information on the history of Cambodia. I was able to visit all of the sites on my list. Some places were very sobering i.e. the killing field and the Genocide museum, but really gave me an understanding of the people of Cambodia.

About Cambodia Travel & Tours

Cambodia Travel & Tours provided our Group of 11 with a wonderful full-day experience in Phnom Penh. From being picked up on time and as promised to referring us to an excellent restaurant for lunch to working with us on the timing of the end of the tour, our Tour Guide Silong was excellent. He was friendly, courteous, helpful, professional and completely dedicated to sharing with us his perspectives on the history, culture and present-day situation in Phnom Penh and Cambodia. Silong is a wonderful Tour Guide and his dedication and passion to his profession and enthusiasm were always on full display whether at the Royal Palace or walking thru the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Cheung Ek Genocide Center at the Killing Fields, both very sobering but important to experience highlights of the tour. An excellent itinerary with an excellent Tour Guide made for the perfect one-day experience in Phnom Penh.

A great full day tour covering all the major sites in Phnom Penh. Our guide, Mr. Tok, was very knowledgable and spoke great English. Highlights for us were the Phnom Temple, the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, The Killing Fields, and The Genocide Museum. We also had lunch at a nice Cambodian restaurant - a bit touristy - but still very tasty.
Praful_N, Mar 2026
The full day Phnom Penh tour was a great experience. Our guide Sam was fantastic and very knowledgeable. We had a great experience touring the city and especially visiting the Palace and genocide museum.
I would recommend the tour to anyone visiting the city for a day as it covers all the major sites with Sam providing his knowledgable perspective of the city

A very interesting and comprehensive tour of Phnom Penh. Our guide Silong was very friendly and knowledgeable. He shared with us some powerful stories about the history of Cambodia which helped us get a better understanding of the history of his country. Our driver was very nice and polite. The air conditioning in the vehicle and the cold bottles of water were very much appreciated. We would thoroughly recommend this tour with Silong as a guide.

Our day exploring Phnom Penh with guide Silong was truly memorable and deeply impactful.Silong’s passion for his city and the Cambodian people shone through every moment — he shared stories with such heart and authenticity. The tour was impeccably organized; we felt like VIPs all day, with seamless transitions and thoughtful pacing. There’s a ton of information to absorb, including some very tough chapters of history, but having Silong to provide context and personalize it made everything meaningful and easier to process.A powerful, enriching way to spend the day in Phnom Penh — highly recommended!

Lots of interesting stops to see the city.
Guide was knowledgeable.
Felt a little rushed-would’ve liked just a bit more time at each place.
Note that at the Genocide Museum there are a lot of survivors books on sale which we were “encouraged “ to purchase.

From the moment Eak picked us up we knew this was going to be a good day. His English was great, he was full of energy, knowledge and compassion. We learnt so much. The air conditioned vehicle was very much appreciated with water and cold towels.

Sam is very friendly and knowledgeable. A great tour guide for our holiday. Our driver Mr Long was always there with cold towels and water! A fabulous experience
Adam_L, Dec 2025
Mr Silong gave us an excellent full day tour, he was very informative and professional. I would highly recommend this tour.

This is not worth a solo experience. I would say that majority of things that we did today for able to be on a guided tour with headphones that can translate into whatever language that you want. Potentially maybe you might have questions about some details of the killing field but the audio tour should go into it pretty well. Additionally and if you have questions about a pagoda maybe look it up on Google? Before you go? But really having a private guide is not worth this excursion. This is probably the biggest rip off that I've ever had through Viator
Donnetta_B, Dec 2025
This is a great way to see a variety of different things in the area. Our guide and driver were excellent.
Dextra_W, Dec 2025
Great for understanding the history, religion & culture of Cambodia. Our guide Mr Silong was very knowledgeable. It also made it hit harder when he was telling the stories from his own family during the Khmer rouge ruling. There was so much to see & learn. Had a great day & would highly recommend

I went solo, so the experience was really personal. My guide was a local lad who could tell the details about every little thing we passed, he had some personal stories when it came to his relatives regarding the Pol Pot years, really interesting.
The lunch spot was good too, along with the transport which was a nice car. Walked away feeling like I gained a good understanding of the city, you dont get that when you just do it on your own. Recomended, for sure.

A good tour; worth doing, guide was excellent. We find these tours cover everything you need to and should see
Alwyn_R, Nov 2025
It is a very good experience to see all the highlights of Phnom Phen. The transportation van with the driver was very good. We had an excellent guide who explained very well in English.
Shamala_L, Nov 2025
Great tour of Phnom Penh with our guide Tok. We learned about Buddhism, the royal family & the history of Cambodia. Thank you for the detailed explanation.
Sharon_R, Nov 2025
Really informative day with very knowledgable guide (Sam)
We were moved by the Killing Fields experience and Sam’s explanations. The palace and temples were stunning and we had a really nice lunch too
Patricia_S, Nov 2025
Wonderful private tour! We learned so much about the fascinating history of Cambodia. It was an eventful and fulfilling day — such an efficient way to explore Phnom Penh in just one Day.

A perfect introdiction to Phnom Pehn. Out tour guide Tokk was patient, kind, and very knowledgable. He is quite the historian so answered all my questions.
I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to visit some of the highlights of this city.
Benjamin_Z, Sep 2025
Mr Tokk was our knowledgeable and informative guide on this comprehensive tour of Phnom Penh which is perfect for a short first trip to the Cambodian city. Inclusive of culture, sad history and local living, this tour will leave you understanding. This a private tour allows flexibility. Does not include the cost of lunch, but the lunch was local and reasonably priced. The driver was safe, dropped us off near to all sights and provided an air conditioned vehicle with regular cold water. A memorable tour with some great photos.
lee_h, Jul 2025
Brilliant tour of key sights in Phnom Penh. If you’re short on time this tour is a great way to see the key sights and our guide Silong was brilliant at sharing the history and culture of his country.

As a solo traveler, taking a day tour of Phnom Penh with Makara was one of the best decisions I made on my trip. From the start, Makara made me feel completely at ease with his warm, friendly demeanor. He was incredibly knowledgeable and brought each stop to life with stories, historical context, and personal insights that made the experience truly meaningful.
We visited key sites like the Royal Palace, the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, and local markets — and at every location, Makara offered thoughtful commentary that deepened my understanding of Cambodia’s history and culture. What impressed me most was his ability to balance sensitivity with honesty when discussing the country’s difficult past, all while staying engaging and respectful.
Traveling alone, I really appreciated how attentive and personable Makara was — it felt more like spending the day with a passionate local friend than being on a guided tour. He was also flexible and happy to tailor the day based on my interests.
If you’re traveling solo and want an insightful, welcoming, and enriching experience in Phnom Penh, I can’t recommend Makara highly enough. This tour was a highlight of my journey, and one I won’t forget.

Great tour. Saw it all in one day - people were very helpful and guide was great in showing the city
CHIE_K, Apr 2025
Great tour to visit major sightseeing sites in one day. Tour is well organized and our guide, Silong, is knowledgeable and very nice.
Chris_F, Apr 2025
Did this private tour solo. Really great experience. The guide, Sam, is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions about Cambodia and the it's history/culture. He tailored the tour to match the very hot and humid weather conditions (44C), going along at a good pace that meant I wasn't stood around sweating into oblivion. The driver was also great; he provided a cold, wet towel after each stop and cold bottled water to keep me refreshed. Sam also took me to buy a fried tarantula at the central market on my request, which was nice.
