We caught the bus outside the opera building in Oslo. The audio wasn’t working so the tour was pretty useless really. We did get off at the sculpture park and then Reno the bus again later. Same bus by coincidence! They had managed to get the audio working but it was so quit hat it wasn’t really able to be heard whilst travelling with the other traffic noise.

The driver, who operated the first bus from the port, drove very fast and did not slow down for any of the major attraction like the Royal palace. So frustrated the 4 of us got off after making the circle and never got back on.

Audio didn’t work, not interesting when it did, confusing that there are two bus companies with almost the same name and color scheme for their buses, most of the stops are cruise ship pick-ups, WiFi didn’t work, bus was not following the time table. If you solely want to use this option to get around the city then maybe it is fine, but you would be better off taking taxis/ tram.

The audio guide doesn’t work on some vehicles. Using the app on my smartphone I couldn’t resynchronize it. Finally, the audio guide’s content is extremely sparse: when (and if) it works, it can only be used to find out where you are.

The hop-on, hop-off bus experience is excellent for those travelers who want to get an overall view of a city, with the option to dig into some specific properties. Not all of the sites along the route will be of equal interest.
There were about twelve stops in Oslo. We started from a point at the cruise ship docks and traveled counterclockwise around the city. We hopped off at two points: the Vigeland Park and Sculpture Garden, and the Kon Tiki/Fram/National Maritime museum complex. The Vigeland Park is a very large area with water features and a cafe. The sculpture garden consists of many statues, all by the same artist, and all united in the theme of family life and relationships. The cafe was quite pleasant.
There are three museums at the end of a road that terminates by the harbor. The Kon Tiki Museum is dedicated to the work of Thor Heyerdahl, the famous Norwegian explorer. In addition to the raft Kon Tiki, the museum includes his reed boat from the Aku Aku expedition. There are many interesting exhibits and videos. Across the street is the Fram Museum, featuring the Fram, the boat in which the explorer Fridtjof Nansen conducted expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic. Next door is the National Maritime Museum, which featured artworks related to seafaring and nautical life. There is an excellent museum store, which carried many books about the Vikings.
Those two stops, with four separate institutions, made the hop-on, hop-off experience worthwhile.

This particular tour operator could not be reached via phone by myself nor Viator on the day of my experience. Their website said that they were closed and we NEVER saw a bus!!! Have requested a full refund!!!

The bus was comfortable and provided us with what we needed to get around town. The hitch was at the beginning… We did not know which bus to get on as there was some confusion about the bus with white or yellow. All the buses said “hop on, hop off,” so it was very confusing and this continued at every stop. We would hop off to tour some area of Oslo, then when we went back to the bus stop, it was the same thing all over again… Which bus to get on.The second issue was with the running narrative… There was a lot of static on mine, and the earbuds do not fit in my ears. Other than that, it was perfect!

First off, the driver drove like a mad man! I am not quite sure what his issue was, but we did not feel safe on the first bus. Then, the recorded messages stopped working after stop 2 so we learned nothing. Very disappointing.

This wasn’t as good as other hop on hop off yours. Very hard to hear commentary. A lot of the plugs didn’t work. Buses were running very behind.

The audio was not continuous with large gaps of no commentary. The second level plastic curtain was hooked by the trees and kept ripping away from the supports and created issues and was dangerous. We were never told what channel to use and luckily another customer informed us. The salesman was friendly but didn’t feel the trip was worth the money

It was very poor. The audio did not work, the driver was not friendly and the covering on the top to keep the rain out kept blowing off. I cut my finger trying to snap the plastic back in. This was a bad experience all around.

Horrible waste of time. No audio. No announcement of stops. My husband used Google maps to figure out where we were. We road the loop back to the beginning. We're requesting a refund. Terrible waste of our day in Oslo.

Don’t try and get on bus when cruise ships have just arrived. It was a very rainy day and the buses were ill-equipped to deal with this upstairs. Plastic blinds not secure enough with water getting in. Sound systems often not working.

For at half of the journey, audio commentary did not work. Part of the issue was the driver did not turn it on and did not speak English. There was no signage on the buses as to which language was on which channel (English was on channel 3 on one bus and channel 5 on another). Also, the buses did not to the timetable - often the bus departed at least 5 minutes before the time shown in the timetable.

Recorded voice hard to hear and wi-fi does not work. The tour is less than two-hour long. It covers the most important points and seems to cater to cruise ship passengers.
