Remi was an indescribably wonderful tour guide! It started weeks before the scheduled tour date, with her reaching out with forms and questionnaires for us to fill out to get the absolute perfect tour of Bizen set up for us. She arranged for us to spend time with a master potter in the area, and we even saw a kiln loading in progress in town! My potter husband had an absolutely amazing time learning from him and getting to throw his own piece, which will be fired in the Bizen style and shipped home. If you are at all interested in pottery, please sign up! This tour can be customized to fit any level of interest, activity, or skill level. Or of you just want to take a walking tour through a beautiful small town in the Okayama area, do it!

Daniel’s piece turned out beautifully, and I’m really excited to see how it looks after firing! The next firing is planned for December, so it will probably be shipped in January — please be patient, but I think it will be worth the wait 🌟
