Perfect Day Trip to see Hokkaido
The trip from Sapporo to Furano was a lovely drive through the countryside. The flower farms were beautiful and the Biei blue pond was breathtaking. It was crowded but apparently we got lucky as it wasn’t as bad that day. Pick a weekday to avoid the crowds.
Our personal driver Andrew C was a great driver and very well informed about the sites. It also helped that we could communicate in English.
I highly recommend this day trip option. Great for families with daughters taking instagram photos. The schedule is full of things to see and do but we never felt rushed.

Excellent service
The vehicle was in immaculate condition. Thanks to the smooth driving by Takada San, the journey was very comfortable. Takada San has very limited English but I did not have any problems with that. I got to see everything I wanted. I requested an early 6:45am pickup and he was there waiting for me. Excellent service.

It is a very fun and...
It is a very fun and hands-on experience. The instructor is incredibly nice and helpful throughout the entire process. From selecting the wood type, to planing and sanding down the sticks, and then finally oiling and packaging the final product - every step itself was simple but fun. For travellers who speak English, key introductions and directions are provided in English, and a translation app is used for additional side conversations, questions, and follow-ups. Overall, it was a really great way to spend an hour in Sapporo, and it's always nice when you have something physical you can take away from an experience to remember it by.

Fantastic small-group food tour
We had a fantastic time on this food tour. It was just the two of us plus one other guest, which made it feel really personal and relaxed. There was lots of great food and drinks throughout the tour, and the conversation was just as enjoyable as the stops themselves.
Hide was a wonderful guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. He made the whole experience feel fun and memorable. Highly recommend this tour!

Emilio was a wonderful guide! He customized our tour to fit our personalities and age. Being older we skipped some of the traditional sites and saw more intimate locations and got more of a better sense of life in Sapporo. Walking through the forests and eating the buckwheat treats was so special. Many thanks to Emilio!

Ainu Museum and Jozankei
We used public transportation to get there so it took a while but was scenic along the way. The Ainu Museum was very interesting. Then, we headed to Jozankei for lunch, a short hike, and the onsen at a local hotel. It was a different experience than our hotel onsen. There were a lot of people but 3 different baths. Overall, it was a long but very good day with our guide, Scott.

Entertaining and educational
Educational, fun, and surprisingly entertaining! The sumo experience was a great mix of culture and humor, and we learned a lot about the traditions behind the sport. The audience participation made it even more enjoyable—getting people involved kept the energy high and added lots of laughs. Definitely a memorable experience and worth doing!

Wow!
This was a wonderful tour. Yumi was punctual, polite, knowledgeable and attentive. The hike up to Mt. Hakodate was beautiful and educational. We were able to see a lot of the flowers that were in bloom. The view from the top is breathtaking.
The cherry blossoms at the fort were beautiful. We were blessed with great weather and peak blooms. We were in awe.
Then Yumi led us to a traditional lunch at the market.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable, peaceful, easy paced tour that all four of us thoroughly enjoyed.

Fun time making soba
You make the soba for your meal afterwards. The meal was delicious! You get both a hot and cold dipping “sauce/soup”. And this particular experience also comes with a plate of tempura - when we went they also included seasonal asparagus. My 3 year old loved the meal.

Behind the scenes in Hakodate
Ms Keiko was an excellent guide. Although she was relatively new to guiding, she lived in the city and was very familiar with the area. She attended college in the US for a few months and her English was excellent. She gave us many unique experiences such as lunch in a 7-11 type store with 3 cooks making local hot/fresh food as well as an active bakery. Even had tables to sit while eating. Visited monkeys soaking in hot water pool who were also very skilled in catching tossed food pellets. These sites were in addition to the more usual/common associated with local tours. We enjoyed the day with Ms Keiko very much. In addition to her guidance, she was a delightful young woman. She exceeded our expectations for the day.

Take this tour on your first day in Sapporo!
We had a wonderful tour! I recommend doing this tour as soon as you get to Sapporo to learn about the history of the city and get your bearings. Our tour guide, Iku, met us on time at the clock tower. It was a particularly cold day and she brought hand warmers for our kids. Iku was a fantastic guide; the tour was interactive and she asked us questions to engage us as we learned. She was patient with our kids and taught them about Japanese culture. We felt like we made a new friend. The tour was relaxed and we learned a lot about the city that we would not have learned on our own. The tour was a perfect length and ended with a delicious lunch.

Well worth it soba class
Awesome experience! Taku taught us about the culture of soba in Hokkaido and the region north of Tokyo. About the golden ratio between Hokkaido Buckwheat flour, Hokkaido flour to water mix. How to mix it properly, shape and roll it properly and the technique of consistent cutting. And then eating the sobe was a whole other experience in itself. We're very glad that we decided to book this class and highly recommend it.
