Our guide was friendly, helpful, and really knew the area. Went out of his way to find kangaroos! The vineyards we visited were varied and we always learned a little something new....and we tasted wine! The only negative is that the motor coach was very uncomfortable, no leg/knee room.

Our guide was really good, easy to talk with, made the day enjoyable. We had lunch included, i would have the lamb skewers next time instead of the fish and chips as they were ordinary.

Michael was our driver and guide. He was very nice and friendly. The vineyards we went to were pretty solid. I think I just prefer fuller bodied wines so I just have a preference to Napa and Italy, but for what they were, the staff was all fantastic and wines were good. The lunch was just okay. My only complaint is the legroom on the bus was very uncomfortable for the amount of time that we spent driving. Regardless, I would still recommend the tour.

We had a fantastic day! It started off a little rough because our Uber did not show so we missed our original pick up time. However, I called the office and was given a later pick up site that we were able to get to in time. The total drive was about 2 hours but Chris stopped after an hour and 15 minutes for a bathroom and breakfast break at a rest stop. We then continued on to the first vineyard, which was beautiful. We tasted at least 6 wines, including a great rose which we took home. Then off to the second vineyard where we tried probably 8 different wines while listening to the host's outrageous stories. On the way out, Chris took us up the road to see a herd of kangaroo that were lounging in a paddock. Lunch was at a local brewery; we had a hearty main dish and could chose a beer or wine to accompany it. We finished at a 3rd vineyard where we paired each of our wines with a different chocolate. The drive was beautiful and it was nice to spend the day in the countryside.

Excellent bus service, courteous and helpful driver, Michael, helped us find photo opportunities, really good winery choices. Would be nice to have a bus with more legroom.

Thank you for spending your time with us!

We really enjoyed this wine tasting experience. The scenery was beautiful and being with a small group (11 people) rather than a big bus made the trip very pleasant. Michael was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. We were offered a variety of options for lunch and the food was excellent. My advice would be to pace yourself, though, especially during the 1st stops. It was a fair amount of alcohol over the course of the day.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
We're glad you liked the wineries and enjoyed with Michael!

Great day! Our driver, Chris, was friendly, timely and made the full day of driving pleasant. It is a 20 person extended van with fairly small and cramped seats - comfortable, but not luxurious. Not much in the way of commentary during the extended drive times, but upbeat music filled the van throughout the day. Dave at Sobels winery was first a character to remember, and second provided a great commentary on wine making in Australia, the process and stories throughout the extensive tasting! The lunch was at a beautiful venue with views of the rolling landscape and a full sit down meal. Overall, a great value and a highly recommended tour to experience the Hunter Valley and wines.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thanks so much for joining us, Troy!

You should not miss this experience. We went to three wineries. Had a wine and cheese pairing and a chocolate pairing. We also had a fabulous lunch. The last stop was a vodka and gin tasting. Our driver Guillermo(?) was the best. He told us all about where we’re going and was warm and friendly. We made a lot of new friends. Just fabulous!!

Michael was a fabulous driver/guide and a lot of fun! We loved Iron Gate Estate and Mandy's tasting tour. We purchased 2 bottles and we are drinking the delicious Cabernet right now. 🍷🍷

Wow! Cheers! Thanks for the kind review.

We had such a fantastic day on our wine tasting tour in the Hunter Valley. We visited three beautiful vineyards and one distillery, and every stop felt thoughtfully chosen with great wines, friendly staff, and a relaxed atmosphere.
What really made the day special was the team running the tour. They were warm, fun, and incredibly attentive. They even helped make my dad’s birthday feel extra memorable, which meant a lot to all of us.
A wonderful experience from start to finish. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Hunter Valley.

This was a good experience. We started at Iron Gates vineyard with a very experienced lady describing the whole process of winemaking and guiding our tasting of a selection of various quality wines. This was our favourite part of the trip.
At the second vineyard, we tasted different wines with various chocolates.
We enjoyed a good lunch in a private space.
The final outing was to a gin/vodka tasting place. This was our least favourite part of the trip, as the drinks tasted artificially flavoured and some were 'sparkly' with 'spangles' This place seemed to appeal to our younger fellow travellers.
The driver was our main guide for the day & drove very safely.
The minibus seats were ok but on the return journey they felt a bit cramped and the seat belts too tight.

A fun and educational experience. A good opportunity to try out new tastes! 😊 Excellent lunch provided.
Stephen_J, Mar 2026
Great first winery as the staff member was most informative and gave a great presentation of the history and running of the business. The other two wineries paired their wines with chocolates and cheeses. There was also a good choice of meals at lunchtime. The last establishment showcased their gins and liqueurs, superb!!. A great day and a great mob of like minded individuals made it most memorable. Definitely worth it.

Overall, very enjoyable. Our favorite stop was Irongate Winery. Others were enjoyable as well. Our least favorite stop was the flavored hard liquor stop - just not our thing but interesting. Our driver, Michael, was outstanding
Jenny_F, Mar 2026
This was such a fun tour for my daughter and I to do together. It’s a long day, but worth it. The wine and food was great!
Scott_M, Mar 2026
Vineyards were cute and fun to visit. Pickup was on time and efficient. The shimmering vodka place at the end felt oddly bolted on and kind of tacky?
But the wine part of the day was fab
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your input! We will definitely put it into consideration. Nevertheless, we are glad you enjoyed your day with us!

Chris did a great job driving us and the bus was very comfortable and we had the access to USB ports so we could charge our phones. Loved the wineries and the vegetarian lunch was good and loved the cheeses that were offered.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for joining us and for the kind words!
Mark_P, Mar 2026
Interesting choice of venues, not all were wineries. So if you are a wine-buff this may not be the trip for you. The the lunch venue was lovely, but better known for its beer (which was superb) and the distillery we visited was a spirit-adventure.
For me the jewel in the crown was the Iron Gate Estate. The gentleman that presented the wines was fantastic and gave a superb insight into the wines produced and the challenges that present.
A very interesting tour.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
We'll take this feedbackinto account! Thank you for joining us on the tour!

Guy our guide was really informative and attentive. He explained history while driving. We saw kangourous, Guy the guide even stopped for us to take pictures.

We really enjoyed the Hunter Valley Wine tour. The first winery, Iron Gate, was superb. We also had a chocolate/wine pairing, lunch (which was quite good), then a cheese/wine pairing. At the end we went to a small Vodka place for a tasting there as well. Chris was an excellent driver and guide. The vehicle was very nice and clean.
Response from Host, Mar 2026

Well planned and organised visit to three different vineries, representative for Hunter Valley. Good for people interested to get to know some wine basics of the region, more knowledgeable wine lovers may find it too general, but still, the wines are decent and winemakers were super friendly and open to answer questions.
Great idea of two pairings, with chocolates and with cheeses.
Final visit to a distillery can be skipped unless you are into coloured, sweet liqueurs and weird gins.
Driver-cum-guide Michael did a great job, very informative, friendly, keeping good balance between jokes, fun facts and interesting stories about the city.
Response from Host, Mar 2026

A scenic drive out of Sydney…….well worth the time. Felt like family visiting the local wineries. Our lunch was delicious and the local wines a real treat.

The bus is extremely small and uncomfortable. 3 hours to get the first stop and unfortunately the ride unbearable.
The more you drink the easier it gets.
The wine tour at the first stop was lack luster we go to Learn enjoy wine and have fun and unfortunately the host ran it like a military ceremony instead of an experience. I would highly recommend choosing a hose to is joyful and excited.
The second stop was definitely my favorite stop
It provided the exact experience that I expected. This was the chocolate and wine stop.
The inside was beautiful, and she walked us through each type of chocolate in the wine that it was paired from. She was very friendly and happy and gave us time that kept us busy well winedrated 😆
The wine and cheeses at the last stop the cheeses were good and the crackers were great. It’s just the presentation overall needed work. I mean we set at this table filled with Legos to play with I guess, but then the cheeses were already prepackaged. I expect more of a charcuterie board like a real wine experience.
Overall, the experience needs some work!
Getting better transportation vehicle that fits the guest comfortably to enjoy the ride
Improve the wine experience stops.
P.S
Unless you’re 5 foot 1 and shorter, you will not be comfortable in those seats
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for the review. Getting our venues to maintain consistency in their staff and presentations is something we also pass onto them. Our vehicles vary so noted on the vehicle you travelled in that day
Lisa_M, Feb 2026
Driver (Miko) was great The first winery irongate was amazing. Also the lunch was very good. The other three tasting experiences were disappointing. These three tasting experiences were for individuals that don’t know good wines from bad.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for the review. Everyone has different tastes in wine and we never expect everyone to like every wine they taste, not because they're good or bad, but everyone's palate is different.
Mike_D, Feb 2026
We were taken to 3 different wineries and one distillery , one of which we had a nice lunch. The first winery , we found that we did not get much wine to taste, but all the others were fine. Our tour driver Micheal was simply amazing! He knew we were from Canada and never saw kangaroos in the wild and even took the time to bring us to see some where he knew they probably would be some there , and there were! Others asked if he could stop along the vineyards to take pictures , and he also accommodated them! We remained on time as well. My wife wanted to go much more than i did but now that i have returned i am so glad we went.
Micheal even dropped us off at our hotel to save us some walking ! Thank you so much !
