Great way to see Glasgow!

Keith_P, Jun 2026
Finding the right bus stop was a little difficult but other than that our tour was great - we got our own audio to hook into rather than someone in person which I hear is the way to go. A great way to see the city!

Disappointed. No-show & no updates.

Aiden_C, May 2026
I’m extremely disappointed. I’ve been waiting at the bus stop for over an hour and there’s been no bus and no one is getting back to me. It’s been a complete waste of time. And if the bus ever comes, I’m worried I can’t even trust the tour to allow me to get off at certain sites to explore. I’m really upset to have wasted all this valuable time.

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about the inconvenience you experienced in Glasgow, particularly the long waiting time at the stop and the lack of communication regarding the service. We completely understand how frustrating it must be to lose valuable time during your visit, especially when relying on a scheduled sightseeing service. Please note that our hop-on hop-off buses are intended to operate on a regular schedule, and we regret that in this case the service did not meet your expectations. Your comments regarding waiting time and uncertainty about stops and hop-on availability are taken very seriously and will be shared with the local operations team for immediate review. We also want to reassure you that passengers are always free to hop on and off at any designated stops along the route, as this is a core part of the service. However, we understand that your experience has left you feeling unsure and disappointed, and for that we sincerely apologize. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us identify areas where communication and service reliability must be improved.

waste of money and time

Shelli_W, May 2026
this was a complete waste of money. Viator should not support this service. Buses were full and we could not make use of the paid ticket.

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are very sorry to hear that your experience in Glasgow did not meet your expectations and that you were unable to fully use your ticket due to capacity issues on the buses. We understand how disappointing this must have been, especially when you have paid for a service with the intention of enjoying the full tour. Please note that we take situations of this nature very seriously, as our aim is always to provide a reliable and enjoyable service to all passengers. Your comments regarding high occupancy and boarding difficulties will be forwarded to the relevant operations team for review, as this is not the standard experience we aim to deliver. We appreciate your feedback and regret the inconvenience caused during your visit.

No to HoHo

Marilyn_M, May 2026
This was the worst hoho bus tour I have ever taken. The bus showed up late and then didn't stop at the designated stops unless you pressed a button to get off. This was not clear to us so we missed our stop. We then pressed the bell for the next stop but the bus didn't stop there either. Only by getting up and going to the guide did we finally get the bus to stop and let us off.

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it must have been to miss your stop and then encounter further difficulties when trying to leave the bus. Your comments are particularly concerning, as passengers should be clearly informed about how the stop-request system operates, and the vehicle should respond appropriately once a stop has been requested. We also regret any delay to the service, which may have added to your disappointment. Please be assured that we will share your feedback with our Glasgow operations team so they can investigate what happened and review the information provided to passengers, as well as the procedures followed on board. We sincerely apologize that your experience did not meet the standards we aim to provide and appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention.

Nice drive in an open top bus, but that’s all

Carla_a, May 2026
So bad it was funny. The driver kept hitting the kerb with the bus, we had a live tour guide (not audio) who I think was called Persephone. She would say “look at the building on the right” then proceed to tell you a very short fact, however she didn’t give a description of what building looked like so we didn’t know what to look for and had no opportunity to take pictures because the next minute it was gone. She continually corrected her own facts and when asked simple questions she would often say she wasn’t sure e.g. she explained that the locals gave the bridges nicknames but when asked what the original name of the bridge was she didn’t know. She got her historical dates wrong and would sometimes forget to finish a sentence it was hysterical. We learnt nothing on the tour except the numbers of the bus stops. Big waste of time but we made our own fun predicting the next useless fact. If you get the live guide don’t bother, wait for the next bus and get the audio guide. Don’t let this put you off, I’ve been on lots of hop on hop off buses in various cities/countries and they are a great way to get a quick history lesson of the area but I recommend sticking with the audio guide on this one.

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your experience with City Sightseeing Glasgow. We are sorry to hear that your tour did not meet your expectations and that the live guide experience was not as clear or informative as it should have been. This is not the standard we aim to deliver on our City Sightseeing Glasgow hop-on hop-off bus tour, where our goal is to provide engaging, accurate and easy-to-follow commentary so guests can fully enjoy the city’s history and landmarks. We also take your comments regarding communication, clarity of descriptions, and factual accuracy very seriously. This will be reviewed with our local team in Glasgow to ensure improvements are made, as a consistent and high-quality guided experience is essential for our service. That said, we’re glad to hear you still appreciate the concept of hop-on hop-off sightseeing buses as a great way to discover a city. We hope you might consider giving us another opportunity in the future with a different guide or the audio commentary option, which many guests prefer for its flexibility and detailed storytelling. Thank you again for your honest review, as it helps us improve.

Great tour!

Not worth it

Rafaela_R, May 2026
Stops were shut due to works being carried out, which made the service much less convenient. I didn’t feel it was worth what I paid, and honestly it would have been more useful to just get an Uber directly to the specific location.

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your City Sightseeing Glasgow hop-on hop-off bus tour did not fully meet your expectations due to stop closures caused by works in the city. We understand how this can affect the convenience of the service and your overall experience. Please note that when there are roadworks or city events in Glasgow, some stops may occasionally need to be temporarily suspended or adjusted for operational and safety reasons. We always aim to keep disruption to a minimum and provide the best possible alternative routing when this happens. That said, we are sorry that this impacted the value of your experience on this occasion. Your comments are important to us and will be shared with our local operations team in Glasgow to help improve communication and service planning during these situations. If you decide to travel with us again, we also recommend checking our City Sightseeing Glasgow app, where you can see live updates on bus routes and stop availability. Thank you again for your feedback.

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about the difficulty you experienced locating the stops in Glasgow with City Sightseeing. We understand how frustrating it can be when you’re walking around and cannot immediately see a bus stop or clear signage. We’d like to clarify that in some cities, including Glasgow, it is not always possible to place large physical signs or dedicated structures on the street due to local council regulations, space limitations, or heritage and urban planning restrictions. That said, your comment is very valuable. We are constantly working with local authorities to improve visibility and provide clearer guidance, including updated maps, digital information, and on-site communication to help guests find stops more easily. Our hop-on hop-off city tour in Glasgow is designed to connect visitors with key landmarks such as the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and George Square, offering a convenient way to explore the city once onboard. No notice cancellation

Joyce_W, May 2026
The company charged my card even though they already knew the service was canceled due to a run for life event scheduled in the city and on the bus route. I was not made aware until I went to their website to get a map of the route.

Response from Host, May 2026

Dear Joyce, Thank you for your message and for sharing your experience regarding our City Sightseeing Glasgow Hop-on Hop-off Bus. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience you encountered. When special events take place in the city, such as the Run for Life event in Glasgow, temporary route disruptions or cancellations may occur due to road closures imposed by local authorities. We understand how frustrating it must have been to discover this only when checking the route information. Regarding the charge on your card, we sincerely apologize for the confusion. In cases where services are impacted by external events, we always aim to inform customers as early as possible and offer suitable alternatives or assistance. It is clear that in your case, this communication did not reach you in time, and we regret this very much. We will forward your feedback internally to improve both our customer communication system and the handling of schedule changes during major city events. We hope you will consider giving City Sightseeing Glasgow another opportunity in the future so we can provide the service and experience you expected.

Disappointed

Veronica_V, May 2026
I booked this bus tour for friends from Netherlands so they could get to see Glasgow sites. I was disappointed from the start with no sound from our ear phones to hear about the city and this happened to alot of people sitting close to us too. Then there was road closures so alot of places we didn't get to see. It definitely didn't feel we got the experience we expected and it was not worth the money won't be doing the tour again.

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback Veronica. We are very sorry to hear that your experience with the City Sightseeing Glasgow hop-on hop-off bus tour did not meet your expectations, especially as you were showing the city to your friends from the Netherlands. We sincerely apologise for the issue with the audio/earphones not working properly, which clearly affected your ability to enjoy the full guided experience of the Glasgow sightseeing tour. This is not the standard we aim to deliver, and we understand how disappointing it must have been, especially for visitors relying on the commentary to discover the city. We also regret the impact of road closures, which unfortunately can sometimes affect the full hop-on hop-off bus route in Glasgow due to traffic restrictions beyond our control. However, we fully understand that this meant you were unable to see all the highlights you had planned to visit. Your comments are very important to us and will be shared with our operations team to improve both the on-board audio system and communication during service disruptions, ensuring a better City Sightseeing experience in Glasgow for future passengers. If you ever reconsider, we would love the opportunity to welcome you again and provide a much smoother experience, so you and your guests can fully enjoy. Thank you again for your honest feedback.

Hop on Hop Off Glasgow Bus

James_T, May 2026
There are a lot of stops so it takes a while if you plan to do the entire loop. It's a good way to see the local sites however.

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you very much for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you found the tour in Glasgow to be a good way to see the local sights and get an overview of the city. As you mention, the full loop includes many stops, which is designed to cover as many key points of interest as possible. This can mean that completing the entire route may take some time, especially depending on traffic conditions, but it also allows passengers the flexibility to explore the city at their own pace. We really appreciate your comments and hope to welcome you on board again in the future.

A glance of Glasgow

Ruth_B, May 2026
The best view and experience is at the top open air section of the bus. It can be very windy there are major road works and some stops are not available although bus operators try to get as close to as passible good staff

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you very much for your review! We’re really glad to hear you enjoyed the best views from the open-top section of the City Sightseeing Glasgow bus. It’s indeed one of the best ways to experience the city and take in its atmosphere from above. We also appreciate your understanding regarding the ongoing road works, which can sometimes affect accessibility to certain stops. Our team always does its best to operate as close as possible to the designated routes and ensure a smooth experience for all passengers. We’re especially pleased that you highlighted our staff. We will make sure to pass on your kind words to the team. We hope to welcome you back on board City Sightseeing Glasgow soon!

No problems!

Annette_B, May 2026
Must take a train to get here if traveling from a cruise. The nearest stop is about a block away. It was a crowded stop but they called up an extra bus which arrived in about 5 minutes, so they did try to accommodate. I don’t think they were expecting as many people, so knowing the cruise schedule might have helped! The pre-recorded information was very good. We rode it to the St Mungo Cathedral/Museum stop then walked, so not sure how the wait at different stops were.

Response from Host, May 2026

Dear Annette, Thank you very much for your kind review. We are pleased to hear that overall you had a smooth experience on the Glasgow Hop-On Hop-Off tour and that the pre-recorded commentary was informative and enjoyable. It is also great to know that additional capacity was provided promptly at a busy stop, and that this helped reduce your waiting time. We appreciate your helpful observation regarding cruise ship arrival times, as this is valuable feedback that can assist in improving planning and service coordination during peak periods. Thank you again for choosing our tour, and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards, Quality Department

More information please on pickup stop street addresses

Marcia_S, May 2026
Finding the first stop to get on the bus was confusing. Better location instructions are needed. The First bus had a guide which was nice The second bus we got on required earphones which we did not know we needed and the driver did not mention it.

Response from Host, May 2026

Dear Marcia, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you experienced confusion when locating the initial boarding point in Glasgow. We understand how important clear and detailed instructions are when starting a tour, and we regret any inconvenience this caused. We also appreciate your comments regarding the onboard experience. While it is good to know you enjoyed the live guide on the first bus, we are sorry that the requirement for headphones on the second bus was not clearly communicated by the driver. This is not the level of consistency we aim to provide, and your feedback will be shared with the local team to ensure clearer communication going forward. Your suggestion regarding clearer pickup stop information and street addresses is very helpful and will be reviewed to improve pre-travel guidance for future guests. Thank you again for your valuable comments, and we hope to welcome you again for a smoother experience in the future. Kind regards, Quality Department

Disappointed

Patricia_G, Apr 2026
Unfortunately, several of the stops were closed for various reasons… The beginning of our trip was delayed by 15 minutes as the bus came to our stop the driver said he needed to take seven minutes of break time then after the seven minutes, we were told that we had to wait another five or six minutes waiting for another bus to come because it needed to go out of service. I know that the stop closures are not entirely the fault of the bus line, however when paying 20 pounds per person, it’s a little bit irritating not to be able to go to the stops that are on the route. Viator does such a good job about communicating via email on prepaid and Advanced tickets. They should’ve been able to let us know that quite a few of the stocks would be closed and offered us a refund if we chose not to waste our time or money.

Didn’t get to use my...

Didn’t get to use my tickets. I was told by the agent the hoho bus stop was outside the cruise terminal. It wasn’t. It was a train ride 30 minutes away.

Tour is good Viator could be better

John_C, Apr 2026
The overall ride is good to see key areas in the city. Having more busses and a longer day of riding would be nice. Bus site provided a nice schedule. Would be very helpful I’d Viator would provide link to bus schedule.

Poor Communication Terrible Map

Wade_H, Apr 2026
The #1 stop was not available due to construction. The map should have been updated. It was not explained that #2 was the new #1. It was a hike back to the shopping. The last stop before #1 would have been much closer. Again, not communicated. Driver was rude as well. Come on, Hop On, you can do better.
