Throughout this journey I will share the broad brush as well as pivotal moments which have shaped the beloved nation of Lithuania I now call home with my wife and son. I will also be playing songs, from eurovision to chants of the forest by the fire. After a drive through the UNESCO old town and central business district of Vilnius, we will stop in the Soviet neighbourhood of Karoliniškės for a coffee (included). Our next stop is Trakai and the beautiful island castle where you can try a traditional Kibinai pastry (included). Kaunas will be 2 hours either together or solo, as you wish - you can also join me for lunch. We will take 30 minutes at the ninth fort victims of fascism monument on the way back. Finally we have 60 mins in Kernavė!

A Fascinating Subject Brought To Life By An Incredible Guide!

I was lucky enough to join Ieva for her Regular Walking Tour of Soviet Vilnius, and had the best, most fascinating historical couple of hours. For such a broad, and potentially poignant, subject, Ieva was able to tell stories and give facts with great warmth and humour. This made the tour incredibly accessible, and whether you are an expert when it comes to life in the Soviet Union, or know very little about it at all, you would enjoy it and take a lot from it. I think what impressed me most was Ieva’s balance of the timeline of Soviet Lithuanian history, providing great context for everything you saw and heard, with the stories of everyday life and how Soviet rule affected the average person in society. She opened up many alien concepts with some truly relatable stories about very real people- some even of her own friends and family. There really was something for everyone on this tour, which gets across the point that you’ll be hearing about people, places, and cultures that aren’t that different to us and our own lives. An absolute 10/10 tour and I will definitely be taking it again, when I’m next in Vilnius.

Had a fantastic trip to Trakai with Jim. He’s a great guide — charming, laid-back, knowledgeable, and clearly someone who genuinely loves what he does and loves sharing Lithuania with visitors. Great Experience with Kernave & Trakai

We had a wonderful time with Dominic who made it an experience to remember. He was very knowledgeable. Dominic expertly guided us through Kernave, then ran us by the Hill of Angels, after which we did a short circuit on the far side of the lake at Trakai. He arranged a boat tour and we enjoyed a very nice local lunch at Blynu Namai. Highly recommend the tour and ask for Dominic.

Vilnius Hill of Crosses with English speaking guide

Our guide was very informative, and knowledgeable about Lithuania, Vilnius, and the Hill of Crosses. She made a few stops on the way, answered many questions, and allowed over an hour to explore the two areas with historical crosses, and crosses as memorials. The only negative was the vehicle was too small for four tall men. We had a great stop for Lithuanian lunch after the crosses.

A Great Day in the Lithuanian Countryside

This was an excellent tour of 3 separate sites near Vilnius. My guide, Snega, was outstanding, combining knowledge of the areas with her heritage as a Jewish person, which made the history particularly meaningful, especially at Panierai. The weather was perfect and it was a very enjoyable day. I highly recommend this tour and in particular, Snega as a guide.

An absolute MUST when in Vilnius

Had an incredible experience on the sunset hot air balloon ride, an absolute must when visiting Vilnius! The crew were punctual when picking us up from our accommodation, very clear in every step of the process and the pilot was amazing at giving us information when in the air! We did the Trakai ride and the views were INCREDIBLE. Such a great experience and the sharing a drink with the pilot afterwards was a nice touch. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking to book on.
