Excellent and informative...
Excellent and informative day trip with plenty of opportunities to see things outside Riga. The visit to Jelgava was great, as were the cakes at the lunch stop. The transport was comfortable and Maris (our guide and driver) knew all the good coffee stops.

Great choice of samplings, timing and great value
The tour starts in the agencies office in the House of Blackheads with tasting of Riga black balsam. For those not drinking alcohol, apple juice from managers garden was served.
During the walk to the market the guide told us some interesting facts about Riga’s history.
In the market time flew very fast as we visited different hangars and have several tasting stops where we were sampled with traditional soup, grey peas, smoked chicken wings, rye bread in different usage, hemp based pestos, smoked sprats and herring fillet sandwiches and of course nice local cheese in three flavors. For the first time i tried a fresh birch tree sap which is very healthy seasonal beverage harvested only in the spring.
After all this well thought choices of sampling I really had a full stomach, so consider not to have a lunch before this tour. 100% recommend!

Stunning from start to finish
Our Tour guide was very polite, funny and extremely knowledgeable about Latvia. There were regular opportunities for a bathroom break throughout the journey so if you need to take regular trips to the bathroom this trip would be for you. We started by seeing the Hill of Crosses in Lithuania, a stunning location with hundreds of thousands of crosses situated on two hills. The guide gave us a quick overview of the history of the hills and took photos (for those who wanted it). We then went to Rundale Palace, which was faithfully restored after Latvia's independence from the soviet union (a nice touch is the room that shows you how the rooms looked when they started, the contrast is incredible). This was also where we got lunch and saw the stunning french-style garden afterwards. After this we went to Bauska Castle, where we climbed up the tower to see the picturesque surroundings of the Bauska town (along with the history of the tower). Overall the trip started at 8 and finished around 5 / half 5, and is must do for those travelling to Riga or Vilnius.

Had a fantastic day on this tour. Norman was a brilliant guide and ensured the day ran at a perfect speed with no rushing. He recommended a beautiful restaurant for lunch to try the local Lithuanian cuisine which was lovely. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone and would jump at the chance to do another tour with Norman.

I am glad I decided to do this trip. I could have visited these places by myself, however, having a guide to explain the background and also the history of those places made it much more enjoyable. The guide, Tomass, was extremely knowledgeable about the places we visited and really knew how to keep us informed and entertianed!

Great overview of Riga’s Old City.
Walking, stopping, listening to guide explain points of interest. Excellent guide who also informed us of Latvia’s current state with its support of Ukraine and the Russian population in Latvia. Very interesting and that alone was worth price of tour.

What a fantastic tour! As...
What a fantastic tour! As a regular visitor to Riga, it was great to see and learn about some other parts of the country. Rundale Palace reminded me a lot of the grand palaces it St Petersburg, whilst The Hill of Crosses in Lithuania was quite a site to behold.
Jānis the tour guide was great at explaining about each place, as well as being very down to earth and just generally great fun!

This was a great...
This was a great experience as far as food tours go. There was much less walking and much eating than on others I had been on. Being in the central market was great - I probably would have never tried the food there without this tour. The guide was fantastic - she was so enthusiastic about everything and really wanted to share her culture with us. The size of the tour was also very good. The most exotic food was dried pig snout if you're worried about not being able to eat some dishes (the snout was so delicious btw). Would recommend.

Excellent guide, amazing tour
This was an amazing tour for our family of adults and children alike. Lina was an excellent tour guide! She was very knowledgeable about Riga history and shared with us great history and numerous legends of this historical city supported by the book of pictures depicting the sites at different moments of history, e.q. the devastating consequences of WWII. She also recommended many tips for other sites beyond the itinerary,as well as restaurants to visit. She was also very warm and friendly and generous with her time on the tour. We definitely recommend her tour.

An excellent boat tour
Our one-hour boat ride was very enjoyable. The location was easy to find with good signage, and the person who took our information was fun to talk with. We selected this tour because it is a smaller group and the boat is open. The narration was useful and the ride was great! We recommend this tour.

Fantastic experience with...
Fantastic experience with our guide Viesturs - was very happy to answer our questions. The hill of crosses was interesting, Viesturs also offered other stops if we were interested in them which was nice. It is 1hr30-1hr40 in one direction on a very straight, uninteresting road, but Viesturs kept up entertained throughout.

Does what it says on the tin
this is a very efficient way of travelling if you are 2 or 3 . It is cost effective and comfortable to include sight seeing at our own pace. Artis our driver was very safe and courteous. The only unclear thing was about tip to give to driver. It was not made clear whether we expected to do this as it costs about £400 for the transfer and 10% would be £40. Normally at this price point gratuity would be included in the cost. It would be better to make it clear whether is expected or not to avoid any embarrassment.
