Day Trips from Surabaya to Central Java

Sunrise over the black sand desert around Mt. Bromo is one of Indonesia’s most iconic sights. Experience its majesty without braving Cemoro Lawang’s bracing hotels on this private and convenient door-to-door tour from Surabaya hotels, airport, or train station. Leaving Surabaya by comfortable car, transfer to a shared 4WD on arrival, then pay your entrance fee and capture the epic landscapes. You can visit Madakaripura Waterfall for an additional charge.

Spend a magical night and morning on this door-to-door tour of majestic Mt. Bromo. Don’t bother negotiating with touts: Just relax with a private guide and private transfers between Surabaya and Mount Bromo. First, admire the Milky Way by night—bring your DSLR to capture pictures. Then, watch the sun rise over Mt. Bromo, climb to the crater, and tour Madakaripura Waterfall. Please note: tour excludes entrance fees.

History buffs visiting Surabaya won’t want to miss Trowulan, the off-the-radar archaeological site that houses the most important remnants of the Majapahit Kingdom, one of Southeast Asia’s greatest empires. The site is tricky to reach, but this small-group tour makes it easy, with pickup from your hotel or the port, a local lunch, bottled water, and site entrance fees included. Cruise passengers may join a small group with others from their ship.
