Poor Jakarta

Tour guide, E exceptional as was driver Hamil! Unfortunately, Jakarta is not an easy place to visit and we are seasoned travellers. Pollution, numbers of people, the worst traffic jams and rubbish beyond compare! Hard work for tour guides and drivers. Nightmare anxiety for visitors!

Great tour guide

Ine was a very knowledgeable guide and explained much of the history. We had nice conversations at each stop. I liked the visit to the shadow puppet work shop and the library. The car was cool and the driver very nice. Sadly the mosque is closed for hours on Fridays and the national monument was closed for repair so I saw them from outside but not the same. It could be useful in a 10:00 to 3:00pm to have a stop for a snack. I enjoyed the tour very much and thought the stops were interesting.

Jakarta alternative tour

If you really want to do an alternative Jakarta trip, I can highly recommend this tour operator. Haidar, we had given our guide some instructions beforehand about our expectations. From VOC, Dutch influence, Japanese occupation, revolution with Sukarno-Hatta. With our guide and driver, we shuffled through the traffic with scooters shooting past left, right, front, and back. Experience in itself. Haidar showed us spots that the standard tours do not visit. And supported every place with photos on his old and recent iPad. Very engaging and gives a nice historical insight.

Jakarta for beginners

Having never visited Jakarta before this tour gave great insight into the complex and diverse culture and history of this city. Great night tour

I had my tour with Catherine - she was absolutely fab. My flight was delayed so I would have missed my 5pm tour. She pushed it back to 8pm just to ensure I could make it. She was really informative and made the tour really special. The street food element was excellent - so many delicious options. It really gave me a good insight into Indonesian food. I thoroughly recommend the tour - but especially Catherine!

Monkey Rice Water Temple

The Monkey Forest was amazing - some very close encounters with some amazing animals, and the whole place was very relaxed. The rice fields - which was more an adventure resort operation - was not really my thing, but the walk around the rice fields themselves was pleasant enough and we didn't need to stay there long; the waterfall/cave was a great experience too, though be careful of the 90 steps down as you will have to go up them again to get back to the car; and the temple experience was lovely, the guide incredibly informative, and I didn't have to try an eat, pray love moment and I didn't want to! Diva was very professional and courteous, a very cool customer and was able to adapt to my requests - much kudos to him, and in particular, to his driving skills and abilities!

Great information

The guide, Ivan, was very friendly. He was informative about culture and history, and with his extensive knowledge of both English and Indonesian, he helped me a lot with the language. The driver, Cek Man, was a careful driver who showed his kindness by stopping for pedestrians and letting in traffic. The driver was so good I’m using him again on this visit.

Great country experience

Great and beautiful experience with good local cultural interaction. Fajar was out guide and did a great job as did the personal driver for the day. The lunch was authentic and fantastic. A change of clothes is not really needed but some type of water shoes to change from a hiking shoe is recommended as you cross the shin deep river three times each way.

This tour is a must!

This was a thorough tour of Jakarta's significant points of interest and was also culturally enlightening. Our tour guide, Ms. Ratih, was extremely kind and knowledgeable about all things Jakarta and Indonesia. She checked in throughout the tour to ensure we were seeing what we were interested in seeing. Our driver was excellent and made getting to and from the various stops highly convenient. We learned alot about the city and and had a great time doing so.

I wanted to see the city of Jakarta, so I applied for a tour that would help me see the city efficiently. The tour guide was a lady named Ine, who taught me about Jakarta's history and trivia I didn't know, which made Jakarta more enjoyable for me. The tour lasted only a few hours, but we were able to stop at many places in a limited time, and I was warm to hear ine's kindness. If I have another chance, I would like to use the tour of Indonesia to see ine again. It was also comfortable to drive. I'm so grateful to both of you. Thank you very much.
