The food was quite good, the guide (Emma) was great. I lived in china before and can speak Chinese so I didn't super 'need' the tour. But it was still convenient to eat all the local Shanghai food in an evening and have someone else organize/plan it.

Second Tour Just as Good

Our guide was Weijia, who will regale you with tales in her British accent. All of the selections and restaurants were awesome and a great representation of local food done well. Our favorite were the soup dumplings. After this. This were all we ate for lunch and dinner. There was quite a bit of walking but the neighborhoods and streets were safe and interesting. We were stuffed and tired when the tour ended. And, we were enlightened about the culture of lovely China. This was our second Lost Plate tour as we enjoyed the one on Beijing so much!

My tour was a little bit idiosyncratic, and she was totally flexible. She knows the former French concession well and it makes the tour a delight. Miss Mary our guide was fantastic. Her English exceptional. She took us to places we would never have found on our own, was interesting, relevant and informative. She worked out quickly what suited us. She took us for a delicious lunch at a traditional restaurant. My husband is coeliac so needed gluten free. Miss Mary sorted this out. It was no problem at all and so delicious!! Would highly recommend this tour.
