Top Roatan Shore Excursions

Amazing experience! Loved seeing the monkeys, sloths, and other wildlife up close. The chocolate and rum tasting was a great bonus! The guides were friendly, the experience was fun, and it was a wonderful way to explore Roatán’s wildlife and local flavors. Definitely recommend this excursion!

Our tour was Amazing! Joel and Jordan did a phenomenal job. The tour is fully customizable so we were able to say where we wanted to go. We started off doing a glass bottom submarine boat that was about 45 a person lasted around 30 minutes. It was really cool then we were hungry so they took us to this restaurant called Annays we asked them for some authentic food and was really good. The lemonade to die for we did order meals for our two year-old and four-year-old I probably wouldn’t do that next time because the portions are huge and they could just eat off of us. Annays, we went to the chocolate factory, which is kind of like a store. They have a little presentation about chocolate and how it’s made and then you can sample the chocolate. The chocolate was amazing. Oh my goodness they have these chocolate dip, ice cream bars I really wanted to go back towards the end of the toilet, but we were on the other side of the island from there we chose to go to Gumbalina Park to see the macaws and monkeys. This was like the highlight of the trip the tour guide there gave us a tour of the park the history of it, the history of the island we got to see macaws and monkeys, and even hold them I like this park better than the other ones where their cage because the animals kind of roam free it was gorgeous and our family‘s favorite. I think that was about 35 a person we wanted to stop at a beach, but our time was running kinda low so we didn’t get to go to West Bay Beach, which was on our itinerary, but on the way back, we stopped at around factory tasted around and got rum cake and I really wanted to try their traditional Hondorian food and Joel and Jordan stopped at a gas station to get me a Bayada(not sure if its spelled right). We were looking for a cultural experience and we definitely got it. I would literally pay to do this store again if we came back thank you so much Joel and Jordan for taking care of our family and sharing your island with us.

Genna our tour guide was amazing! She was waiting for us right outside the Cruise Terminal. She was a local and we really liked the fact she was a local. She catered the tour to our liking. She even took us to a beautiful beach where we spent a couple of hours enjoying this beautiful island.

his tour was perfect from start to finish! Our driver picked us up right outside the port gate and took us to the top of the hill, where we had time to take pictures and do some shopping. The animal sanctuary was a highlight of the tour. We got to interact with all kinds of birds and monkeys, which was such a fun experience! After the sanctuary, our driver took us to a chocolate tour and a rum cake tasting before dropping us back off at the port. Everything was well organized, and we really enjoyed getting to experience different parts of the island. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Roatán!

Great snorkeling experience! We were picked up at our resort by Wilson, an excellent representative for Roatan Five Stars Tours. There were some mechanical issues with our boat, but we were able to experience the complete tour and had a blast. Definitely recommend this tour!

Big Al provided us with a narrated tour of everywhere he took us. One member of our party is handicapped, and Big Al helped her at every stop. We gave Al our list of places we wanted to visit. A personal tour like this one is certainly the way to see Roatan.

Our private tour in Roatán was absolutely wonderful and one of the highlights of our cruise. What made the experience so special was that it truly felt like our family’s tour, rather than a standard itinerary that we simply followed. Our guide, Cynthia, was fantastic! She was knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, and made it a point to customize the experience around our family. Throughout the day, she suggested additional places we could visit and added stops that weren’t originally included in our tour. She also made sure we stopped at the Roatán sign so we could get our family pictures. Those thoughtful touches made us feel like she genuinely wanted us to experience and enjoy as much of the island as possible. And speaking of pictures—Cynthia deserves extra credit for being our unofficial family photographer! 😂 She happily took as many pictures as we wanted, with all the different poses we could come up with, and never made us feel rushed. One of our favorite stops was the monkey, sloth, and bird sanctuary. Our guide there, Kelab, was extremely knowledgeable about the animals and made the experience both fun and educational. He shared so much information with us, including the fascinating story of Fiona, a green macaw, and Jack, a red macaw, and their unique offspring. As a huge fan of Friends, I especially loved discovering that two of the birds were named Ross and Rachel and one of the monkeys was named Marcel. That was such a fun and unexpected part of the experience! The rum and chocolate tastings were another nice touch and gave us something different to enjoy during the day. One of the biggest advantages for us was having a private tour for just our family. We weren’t being moved around with a large group or forced to stick to a rigid schedule. Cynthia was able to adjust the day, make recommendations based on what interested us, and give us a much more personal experience. From the sightseeing and spontaneous stops to the animals, tastings, photos, and Cynthia’s wonderful hospitality, we felt like we got to experience Roatán in a way that was tailored specifically to us. Thank you, Cynthia and Kelab, for helping make our first visit to Roatán so memorable. We left with beautiful pictures, great memories, and a real appreciation for the island. We would absolutely recommend this private tour to families and anyone looking for a more personalized way to experience Roatán! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars from our family!

We booked out excursion here rather than through Royal Caribbean, and I’m so glad we did. The trip was about half the price of what we would have paid booking a similar excursion through the cruise line, and the experience was fantastic. Our guide explained that booking directly also means more of the money actually stays with the local tour company and guides rather than a large portion going to the cruise line, which made us even happier with our decision. Finding them was much easier than I expected. We simply walked out of the main cruise port gate and asked where Gate 1 was. Everyone we encountered was happy to point us in the right direction. Our group was smaller, which made the whole experience feel much more personal. The bus was very nice, comfortable, well air-conditioned, and even had chargers. Our guide, Ria/Rita, was friendly, knowledgeable, a great driver, and made us feel completely safe throughout the day. The sloth and monkey sanctuary was wonderful, and the beach was beautiful. I didn’t snorkel myself, but others said the snorkeling was great as well. What really set ROA Adventures apart, though, was how they treated us when things didn’t go according to plan. My daughter became ill during the excursion, and our guide went completely out of the way to make sure she could get back to the ship as quickly as possible—even though doing so added at least an hour of extra driving round-trip. There was no hesitation; they simply took care of us. Then my mom realized she had left her water bottle behind. Amazingly, they made that long drive AGAIN just to bring her water bottle back to the ship! That level of kindness and customer service is something you don’t forget. We got a smaller, more personal tour, paid about half of what we would have through the cruise line, felt safe and well cared for, and had a company that genuinely went above and beyond for our family. I would book with ROA Adventures again in a heartbeat. If you’re visiting Roatán on a cruise, I highly recommend booking directly with them. They absolutely earned this five-star review!
