A Bucket List Highlight: Ask for Esko at Tokka Safaris!

We are so glad we chose Tokka Snowmobile Safaris for our bucket list trip! Even with the late-winter slushy snow, our guide, Esko, turned a fun outing into a truly great tour. He was incredibly attentive, patient, and informative throughout the ride. The 3-hour duration was perfect—long enough to reach stunning viewpoints and enjoy some faster stretches over the frozen lake. The route through the coniferous forests is beautiful, and the break at the reindeer farm for hot drinks and warm donuts (indoors with a WC!) was a highlight. A huge bonus: Esko took amazing photos and videos of us. His video work was so steady it looked like he was using a gimbal, even on the bumpy terrain! With a small group of just four snowmobiles, the experience felt very personal. We’ll definitely book with Esko again when we return!

Much better 2nd time!!

2nd night, 2nd try...and the Auroras cooperated and showed up. Our same guide as the night before (when we saw nada, and got ice cold soda's at the end 😂) took us to many places where we viewed a great light show. The hut in the Forrest that we stopped at was a wonderful experience too! (Wish we had stopped here the night before as well when we saw NOTHING... it would have softened the disappointment!) Tracy, our hostess at the hut, was cooking sausages and had warm glogi for us~ much appreciated in the sub-zero temps! A great evening and we still got those ice cold Finnish soda's at the end when we were dropped off😉😂 Moral is~ you never know if it will be a night of lights or a dud... so best to book MULTIPLE excursions and try as much as you can!

Best day ever

Our snowmobile experience today was amazing, one of the best things I've ever done in my life! Our guide Nacho was so passionate, professional and helpful. His instructions were clear and we felt confident once we started. Our seven year old son was transported in a heated pod by Nacho which was awesome for him. Great experience ! The ride in the snowy forest was magical, so peaceful. Our 8yo daughter had been wanting to see and pet huskies for so long, and she was finally rewarded ! The dogs seem well taken care of, and ending the ride with a hot sausage in the yurt was a great conclusion for that experience.

Perfect, seamless, professional experience

We had an incredible experience booking our Husky Tour. We had transport directly from our Airbnb to the kennel - Soulmate Kennels - near the Finnish border. The driver was friendly and talkative. The kennel itself was amazing. The dogs looked healthy and the scenery - oh, my, god. Endless taiga forests covered in snow and blue sky above with sunshine peeking through. The husky slushing itself is hard work - I much preferred being in the sleigh! The transport back was flexible and the driver was willing to drop us at Santa’s Village, despite this not expressly being included in the booking. We HIGHLY recommend this tour company.

A must try experience!

The ride was awesome and our guide was also very helpful. I only wish I knew ahead of time the sled allows for both an adult and my 6 year old to ride at the same time, as I thought my wife and I would have to drive separates sleds. Slightly tricky to find the pickup location without a photo, but our guide and other travelers were patiently waiting for us for a few minutes.

This reindeer safari was one of the most beautiful and peaceful experiences we had in Lapland — truly a winter dream. The whole ride felt like stepping into a postcard: endless snow, silent forests, and that calm Arctic atmosphere that makes you slow down and just take it all in. The sleigh ride itself was magical — simple, quiet, and honestly the perfect way to experience Lapland nature in such an authentic way. Feeding the reindeer afterwards was also such a special moment, especially if you love animals and want a closer connection with the experience. One thing I really appreciated was the customer service and how attentive the team was. My partner and I were staying in Ivalo (around 45 minutes away) and I didn’t realize how far that was when I booked. The guide noticed immediately and messaged me right away to confirm our location, which I honestly appreciated so much — it saved us from last-minute stress. They also helped us arrange transportation and explained the options clearly. We ended up booking a private round-trip shuttle for 220 EUR for two people, which was super convenient and smooth. It’s not included in the tour price, but the fact that they proactively caught the issue and helped coordinate everything made the whole experience feel well-managed and cared for. Not a “meh” at all — but if you’re going in early January, bring very warm clothes. This is a very efficient way to do both activities. Our tour guide was superb, communicative, and super helpful throughout. In retrospect I would have just done the reindeer farm; the husky village is OK, but the trip itself isn't all that great and it's much less informative and enjoyable than the reindeer ride and farm visit.

Excellent tour. Guides : Luca and Julia. They both were persistent and patient in finding northern lights for us in -20 to -30 degrees temperature. Took us around 50-70 km outside rovaniemi. They took multiple photos of us at different locations. On the way back, they spot another spot and stopped. They ensured safety of all guests even during photography sessions .
