Terrific experience

The flight offers spectacular views of the islands, beaches, bays and landscapes of Northland on the way up to Cape Reinga and the huge sand dunes. Our pilot/driver/guide, Edward, was very informative, staff at the office were friendly and Tyler, our shuttle driver, was very accommodating. All in all an excellent trip

One of the best ways to see and experience this part of New Zealand. Our guide and pilot zig-zaged the plane so that both sides had great views and pointed out loads of interesting things.

Long day but the views and experiences were worth it

The views at Cape Reinga were amazing! Where the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean meet is beautiful and spritual. The hike down to the lighthouse was very nice. We were able to do some sand surfing on 90 mile beach. George also drove the bus down 90 mile beach which was a unique experience! George told us a lot of history and stories but we wish there had been a little more commentary on the way back.

Far North tour

The bus driver was excellent and very informative. Even though the weather was inclement we had a great day. The lunch was great. Unfortunately other travellers need to be aware of pickup times and ensure they are ready ontime. Myself and my husband were left standing at our pickup point for 40 minutes in the rain. Well worth doing

It was a nice experience....

It was a nice experience. George ist a gcod driver and tells you a lot about the history. Bring water, because you get only a bottle for lunch. The first stop was not like we expected. Normaly on Tours like this you get tea or coffee, but on this tour there was nothing, only the possibility to buy it.

Amazing Trip

Really enjoyable trip with a good variety of activities included. George our driver and tour guide was really amazing, providing narrative and history of NZ along the way. Really helpful and engaging. The only negative was the 4x4 off road vehicle - use of this should most certainly be restricted to 90 mile beach. It was not comfortable on the public roads.

The tour was just what we...

The tour was just what we expected, but the weather was something else! The driver / tour Gide, Tanya, was excellent, informative, funny and very personable. She did her absolute best but the weather was against us, couldn’t see more than a few feet at cape Rianga, an experience in its self. Nice stop at the kauri wood workshop, everyone we met were brilliant, just a same the views weren’t there!

Fantastic trip

The trip was very well organised everyone was so helpful. Waitangi Treaty centre was so interesting such big part New Zealand history The boat trip around Bay of Island so beautiful as dolphins followed the boat . The bus trip was a long way to see a lighthouse but helped by the great commentary by the bus driver about the countryside and New Zealand life

Know before you go

Visitor facilities and parking are provided at the opening to the Cape’s Lighthouse Walk.
Cape Reinga sits on the edge of Te Paki Recreation Reserve, where you can spot native birds and plants and ride down sand dunes.
Look out for the rare flax snail, or pūpūharakeke, which is found only in small patches of Cape Reinga and Te Paki Reserve.
Cape Reinga is a long way from the shops, so be sure to bring everything you’ll need for a day out, including sunscreen, insect repellent, food, and water.
The main Cape Reinga track is accessible for wheelchair users, although other tracks in the area may not be.
