What are people saying about Aix-en-Provence

Superbe tour of Aix!
What a lovely tour! Ivanna was an exceptional tour guide and very personable. After having several various city tours around the South of France during the week, Ivanna’s tour of Aix was the most thorough and educational. She spent two hours reviewing everything from early city establishment, to cultural and architectural evolution, covering local art history, incorporating stories (including historical scandals!) with facts regarding architecture, and pointing out and explaining important city land marks. It was a well-researched and well-paced tour with just enough information on each topic, yet welcomed questions with ready responses. Ivanna was in communication with us the week and day of the tour to confirm times and meeting locations, which was appreciated. Also offered her favorite restaurants and good stores. She made the afternoon very enjoyable and we left Aix with a better understanding of the town and culture than just wandering around on our own with guide book would have offered. Recommend bringing a water bottle in the summer heat, parking garage Rotonde for central town access for those driving in for a day trip. I cannot recommend this tour enough!

Good trip if you are in...
Good trip if you are in Provence. Boat trip in Verdon gorges was the first of the kind ex. You get to drive an electric boat all by yourself. Water was amazing bluish green. Lavender fields may not be as flashy violet as you see on the google. I traveled on 6th July 2026 in the middle of a heat wave.

Aix-en-Provence is amazing!
We were so fortunate to have our guide, Thais, showing us the details and beautiful history of Aix. Besides getting the sample delicious food, we gained a deep understanding I appreciation for this beautiful city and its role in French history. Would highly recommend for anybody looking for a combination of delicious food sampling, and local history of Provence! .

So glad I happened to be in Aix in late June
Overall this was a well spent day and we were glad to have done it. Positives: [] The fields were absolutely amazing and we enjoyed the stop at the lavender producer and in the small town of Valensole. [] Our tour guide Clement was easygoing and kind and we felt like he really knew where the best fields were. He would say things like, "This one is nice, but there is one with more rolling hills further down the road." Negatives: [] It would have been nice to know in advance that we would be stopping at a boulangerie on the way out of town as we had gotten up early to get something already prior to arriving for the tour. [] Just my opinion - Waters should be provided as a basic staple. We are used to multi-hour tours including water and missed in the listing that it was not included. And I think it was 96 on the day of our tour.
