This tour was great fun, Dino was a great tour guide. The pace was great, the history of Diocletian was very interesting and the foodstops were good. Being shoulder season, we had smaller group and this was perfect. The city is very interesting and has a rich history. We both very much enjoyed.

Excellent food tour. Great history explanations and sightings as well. And you had the opportunity to buy delicious local wines at three of the stops in essence creating your own food and wine experience. One of my all time favorites. Thanks Dino!!

Fooding Good. Need to be less verbose about the palace and more about food.

Karim_L, Jun 2026
Fooding selection was a great way to learn about Split cuisine. Tour was sometimes too detailed about the palace. We did not realise the palace tour was included. As we transitioned from appetisers to mail course it kept getting better. All locations were top notch. Wine is extra cost. One glass Should be included in this expensive tour. We paid 21 euros for 4 glasses. Overall I expected less historic conversations but at the end it was good experience. Evening timing was perfect.

Loved everything about our Food tour with Tea

Eric_S, Jun 2026
Tea was the perfect tour guide. She was very proud and professional about her city. The entire 4 hours went so fast. We made 5 stops along the way and learned some amazing history of the city. We had 11 people in our group including us, and having so many terrific conversations with everyone over traditional Croatian foods was why we did this, as we’ve done other food tours and there simply the best tours. Of all the food we tried they were all delicious. Our lunch at a traditional Croatian restaurant just outside the city was phenomenal. All the places we stopped for tastings were amazing and all the food was wonderful. Tea owns her game and is certainly a tour guide I’d recommend any day of the week.

A taste of Croatian cuisine

Graham_F, Jun 2026
A good balance of informative tour of the Diocletian Palace and a taste of Croatian cuisine. We sampled a selection of local cheese, hams, etc in the first restaurant. A risotto in the second and a local beef dish in the three, this was followed by local savoury pastry and ice cream. The food was all of good quality and the service in the restaurants was attentive. I have seen some comments regarding the portion sizes, I was satisfied with the amount of food we received but I think it better to regard it like a taster menu.

Wonderful guide

Louise_H, Jun 2026
Our guide Marina was awesome, she was very informative not only about the history of Split but also the history of the food. You dont need to book a tour of Split. I was satisfied with the potion sizes and enjoyed the food, but so.e of the men in our group were still hungry.

Food Tour

Linda_H, Jun 2026
We received great history about Croatia. Marina was very knowledgeable, pleasant and attentive. However the food selection at all of the restaurants could have been better. The gelato was the best.

Recommend this tour!

Ken_S, Jun 2026
Our guide was Tea and she was fantastic. She grew up in Split and was an awesome source of the area’s history. The food was a mix of some local favorites and was delicious. Just the right amount of time to eat, relax, converse with other travelers. Had the ability (at additional cost) to have wine etc at each restaurant. The walking/history tour was very informative. Would highly recommend this tour. Good value for the price.

Multipurpose joy - history and food

Carolyn_K, Jun 2026
Great way of exploring in and around the old town area with a great mix of history and food which was well selected. We loved this tour and Marina was a fabulous guide full of joy and energy and very knowledgeable. We did the evening version which suited as it was cooler and we were hungrier. Is good value for money

More of a walking/history tour with some food

Ruth_G, Jun 2026
Although it was a fun experience, I would say that it was not truly a "food tour" and more of a history/walking tour with some food. Our guide was engaging and great but I was expecting to be taken to more local places. We were taken to a hotel for a prosciutto board, two different restaurants for risotto and beef dish, then went to a shop for a pastry and gelato. For the cost of the food tour, was expecting more food/larger portions. Drinks are also not included. I had a fun time meeting others but I wouldn't truly classify this as a "food tour".

Response from Host, Jun 2026

We are disappointed to hear this but appreciate your perspective. On the day you attended (June 3rd), Split experienced unusually heavy rainfall for the day, which did affect our typical flow. We provided a complimentary umbrella (which we let you take with you at the end of the tour) and your guide Tea,, did her best to compensate by sharing some historical info inside each restaurant, where we also stayed longer to minimise exposure to the outdoor elements. Her feedback to us during and after the tour was that all guests were having lots of fun and saying it was “way better than being stuck in their hotel rooms,” which aligns with what you mention. Our progressive dining experience combines history, sightseeing, and food in and around Diocletian’s Palace, moving from each sit-down restaurant by walking for the next course, visiting unique establishments and ones that locals frequent, and serving top quality traditional Dalmatian cuisine. The experience begins inside a boutique hotel, part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection, in a private room attached to the Vestibul, followed by additional carefully selected establishments. This is an (all-in-one) experience with local dishes in a sit-down format rather than stand-up market and shop sampling, with four seated courses and a visit to a third-generation gelato shop as our fifth stop, to enjoy as we stroll to the nearby ending location. While we wouldn’t agree with the suggestion that we are not truly a food tour, we do feel we offer much more than a standard food tour and have created a curated and well balanced experience. We have never had feedback that the portions are too small, in fact quite the opposite. Water is provided on every table and we include rakija (the local liquor), with additional drinks available for those who wish more to purchase from our partner venues at favourable rates. We’re glad to hear you found your guide engaging, had a fun experience, and enjoyed meeting others on the tour, we hope you also enjoyed some of our local tips and suggestions provided in your personalised guidebook at the end of the tour.

This was a great experience! It was our first day in town so this gave us the lay of the land, what locals eat and a few local phrases. Tea, our tour guide, was funny and engaging - she knew how to keep things moving at a good pace. Would highly recommend - especially if you dont have a long time in Split.

Ivana is The Best Local Food Tour Guide

Elaine_A, Nov 2025
Ivanna is an excellent food tour guide. She took us to amazing restaurants to taste local specialties. We would have never found them without her. We had procuiitto that was naturally sea air dried, black cuttlefish risotto, the best local olive oils, breads and sea salt and more. The wine, the foods were all delicious! I highly recommend that you ask for jelavic@gmail.com. She is the best, mixing, history, culture and best foods to eat in Split.

Response from Host, Nov 2025
