A delightful few hours well spent meeting new friends, absorbing the culinary culture of Marrakech under the expert tuition of Leila and her daughter Asma. A heap of fun, informative, well organised and best of all: the shared enjoyment and savouring of our work.
I was most grateful when I got lost in the maze of narrow streets that Leila responded to my message and sent someone to come and find me!
Cannot recommend more highly!

Chef Laila was extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. She made us feel like family cooking in the kitchen together. Our very own Moroccan mammy.

The food is wonderful and the teachers great, but too many people in the class in a small space (20?) limiting to even 15 would help. Nice group of people. did not go to market as advertised

Our experience with chef Laila and her daughter was the best thing we have done on our trip. The friendly welcoming environment was everything we hoped it would be. Not only did we learn to cook a delicious 3 course meal we had a laugh, learned about the culture, met new people and really felt like part of the family.
I cannot recommend this experience enough.
The food was amazing but the people made it magical.

This was a great event and our party of 4 really enjoyed the morning. The location was a local home not a professional kitchen and mother and daughter team were really very funny and knowledgeable. We produced some cooked(cold) salads and two tagines one chicken and one beef meat balls. Both had an amazing flavour and there was plenty for everyone. We tried many of these during the holiday and this was all our favourite and I guess the most authentic. It was group cooking event where we all helped produced a meal for our team of 9 which we shared. Good hygiene was in place and the support team made sure all the dirty dishes magical disappeared. I would recommend this if you enjoy this sort of event

A brilliant afternoon, Laila and her daughter were extremely friendly and the food was amazing. Very easy to follow and she's given us all the recipes.

From strangers standing shyly around a kitchen, transformed to family sharing a meal in only half a day... the magic of Laila and her daughter Asma. Laughs, amazing smells, great culinary education, and one of the best meals in Morocco (not too toot my own horn!). Laila makes you feel like family and it's an excellent and thorough instructor.

Great experience. The food was amazing. Finding the actual location was a little challenging and stressful as it was very easy to miss ( it’s right at the small square with cars and taxis 50m after Bahia Palace) Would consider adding signage at the meeting location to make it easier for participants.

This was a great experience. So much fun and such scrumptious food. Laila and her daughter Azma were the best - so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Amazing fun cooking session .. such lovely hosts and made it lots of fun. Amazing food to eat too!!!
Aileen_G, Apr 2026
The food was tasty and the mother and daughter team kept us entertained and involved everyone in the experience, especially the children of families. No mean feat for a group of 14. However we didn’t visit the market as described in the itinerary and a lot of time was spent sharing stories with fellow travellers whilst we waited for the food to cook. A query about the meeting point beforehand never received a response and the promise of recipes via WhatsApp after the lesson never materialised.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
I'm sorry, dear, but I cancelled the market because the tourist police prevented me from doing so. I wrote it down and cancelled them through the website. Thank you.

The cooking class was an incredible immersion into Moroccan cooking. Lialia gave us insights into cooking with spices the Moroccan way. The meal we help make was delicious and fun to make.

So much fun and some of the best food I had during my whole stay in Morocco. Asma was wonderful, I would recommend to anyone visiting Marrakesh
Kareemat_A, Apr 2026
Laila and Asma were extraordinary! You can feel the love between the two. They really made everyone feel like family! I took the class solo and had great conversations with everyone there. The food was the best I had on my trip! They explained what we were making and everyone felt included. I HIGHLY recommend taking the class. Again, the food was the best I had on my trip! Everything was fresh and sooooo tasty.

A great experience to discover Morrocan cuisine! Thank you Laila and crew for everything. You have to plan this experience when you come to Marrakech.

Overall the cookery class was a good experience, and the food we cooked was delicious
That said we had a couple of challenges as the meeting point address in maps didn't work and took us to the wrong place so we missed the start. There is no good signage at the meeting place so anyone booking should go really early
In addition we hoped to visit a market to pick ingredients and this wasn't part of the experience. Further we had chef Asma, who clearly had a good laugh and lots of conversations with the french speaking guests, less so with the English speaking guests. Overall we would recommend the class but wanted to suggest improvements for the benefit of other rravellers
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Merci pour vos conseils.

AMAZING!!!! This was a real treat! Don’t hesitate… book the class. Laila has a beautiful, warm welcoming presence. So organized and hard worker. The food was amazing and we met so many great people!
Zuzka, Mar 2026
Great experience, the only thing that could be improved is the pin to show the location isn't at the place. Asma took our session and it was a great experience start to finish.
Lauren_M, Mar 2026
I booked this for my mom and I and Laila needed to reschedule to the same day for a different time. We agreed. Then however she never answered further messages and ultimately we never could meet her for the class. Bummed.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
I'm sorry, my dear. I waited for you for more than 30 minutes and you didn't come. I didn't see your message. If you are still in Morocco, you can come or ask for your money back. I will return it to you. But why did you write this bad comment about me? I didn't know this. If you want your money, I will return it to you in full, but please withdraw this bad comment. I am not like that.
Laura_R, Mar 2026
Laila is a wonderful host! You’ll learn a lot and eat a lot so come hungry! We had a little difficulty finding the place but they waited for us. Very flexible!

This was truly one of the best cooking classes I’ve taken! The mother/daughter duo were HILARIOUS and they just made the whole experience so wonderful! They make cooking feel like a joy and always kept everyone involved! I would not only take their class again but recommend it to anyone coming to Marrakech. It was well organized, tasted great and had everything we needed!
Melanie_R, Mar 2026
It's a group cooking class, about 20 participants. It was a great time - interactive, everyone had jobs to do including the kids to make the group meal. A highlight of our trip.
Dawn_P, Mar 2026
It’s fantastic! You meet a member of Laila’s team who takes you through the streets to Laila’s cookery school. This is the second time we’ve done this course as it’s so fab. Even better this time. You’re welcomed with Moroccan tea and biscuits before moving to the large table to prepare a 3 course meal. We made samosas, lemon chicken dishes (a sweet dish and a salty dish). With vegetables which is served with breads etc then a lovely fruit desert. Halfway through we had more tea and biscuits. There were roughly 16 people cooking and it was a lovely group, all swapping ideas of where we’d been in Marrakech and what to do. After the food was cooked, we all sat down and had our lunch which was delicious. I would definitely go back again as it’s such a fantastic experience and Laila and her team make it amazing.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you so much
William_M, Mar 2026
This is a great experience! Chef Laila and daughter, were great teachers and get everyone involved, you don’t need to have any skills to enjoy this class, just a willingness to get involved with everyone!
The group of people with us were all lovely and had great chats!
Thank you!

Learn to cook Moroccan food with the flavor that beats any of the 24 restaurants I went to my 18-day tour of Morocco. We got to work together in small groups and create main dishes salads and dessert. Then we got to Feast on our creations! Then get plenty of recipes email to you afterwards, so you can recreate those delicious flavors when you get home! Just go highly recommend!

We did a morning cooking class in Marrakesh. We went along having had a few very dull tagines and were slightly concerned we were wasting our time. How wrong we were! We did a vegetarian and chicken tagine - both were amazing, interesting, slightly spicy and utterly delicious. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who enjoys cooking. Also Leilla and her daughter were funny. Engaging and knowledgeable.
Pheng_T, Mar 2026
Just cannot say how wonderful this experience was. Chef Laila and her daughter were very welcoming and it felt like going to someone’s house to cook. The food prep interaction was engaging, even though the paring knives given were not the sharpest. The chicken tagine, 2 ways, was just better than restaurant quality. My only minor gripe was the difficulty in pickup and delayed start of the presentation. I suppose Ramadan might have slowed things down, but nothing too crazy. I recommend following the written instruction vs Google mapping the address (which was wrong). The pickup is located at a busy parking lot with many transfer vans and taxis. The pickup person is wearing a Black vest with Chef Laila Cooking Class written on the back. Otherwise, just do it! Kitchen skills not required to join.

Laila and her team were AMAZING! She is so very sweet and welcoming. She is also very thorough with her cooking and teaching. I learned so much from her class. The mint tea, appetizer, entree, and dessert were so delicious. She gave me a parting gift, which I brought all the way back to America. I highly recommend this experience.
Mary_L, Mar 2026
Laila and her daughter are wonderful cooks and even better hosts. We spent the afternoon learning Moroccan cooking with a lovely group of strangers, and then sat down to a proper 3-course meal we'd made ourselves. The chicken tagine was the best I've had in Marrakech. Highly recommend!
Barat_E, Mar 2026
Wonderful! Leila is a delightful and excellent teacher with a relaxed style. We made two different chicken tagines and four salads, all delicious. We learned about spices and how to preserve lemons and were treated to Leila’s review of most restaurant versions of Moroccan food. All I can say it the versions we prepared under her guidance had a depth of flavor that our restaurant meals didn’t meet.
