I went to 2 different surf schools in Bali and this one was better and cheaper. Even though it was a group lesson, the groups were very small (only 2 other people with me) and the instructor catered to our differing abilities. The included photos were also a nice touch and were emailed to me later the same day.

Best beginner surfing lesson ever! The price is super low compared to other surfing courses in Viator, yet it didn’t show in any way.
Granted, I was lucky to have a 2h lesson with only 1 person besides me. This meant that I practically had a private tutoring. My coach, Adios, was amazing, patient and encouraging. He was really committed to us actually learning the basics properly and getting our first moments of success with the waves.
What’s more, a private photographer is included in the price, which to my knowledge is something that a lot of other courses don’t provide. I really can’t recommend this lesson enough! 10/10!

My surf teacher Primak was awful. He was just pushing me towards the wave and didn't even check how I went, if I need help or didn't give me any indication of how I should do it get better. Only the number of tourists count, make money fast, no customer satisfaction. I would rather recommend a private surf teacher from the Kuta beach, which they were plenty. Would have been cheaper and I would have enjoyed a private surf lesson. Totally do not recommend!

I was teaching next to you and I could see the coach (Prima) was constantly giving you feedback.
When the surf lesson was finished Prima gave me a brief he said he tried his best but you had allot of trouble grasping the concept of surfing.
Thats why he had to push you because you could not balance nor stand up properly.
After the lesson I spoke directly to the other two guests who did the surf lesson with you.
They both said Prima was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed the surf lesson but they both said you were not cooperating with him in the water and that you made them both feel uncomfortable because of the way you where acting.
We found it very odd that you complained and got angry at us because you said there was no meat inside the coconut you ordered and you said that we should know this.
How could we know this?!
Never have we heard someone complain about this ever! Totally weird!

Paul was very welcoming and ensured we got boards and rashes in a prompt manner.
Our instructor was very friendly and was very nice to chat with between waves. I would definitely recommend the experience to a friend

Had an amazing time learning to surf during my two lessons. Photos of my lesson were sent to me afterwards so I could keep those memories. My instructor taught me how to catch my own waves while also assisting me in catching a few. The owner of the company even gave me specific advice on how I could improve based on the photos that were taken! If you have the chance and want to give surfing a fair shot, I would even suggest to sign up for multiple days in a row.

Great experience and very reasonably priced! We had one instructor (Chip) between 3 of us initially. We were taught the basics of surfing and how to use the board on the beach before entering the water but this didn't take up much time. Another instructor came to help me 1-1 when in the sea which was great. Both were very helpful, encouraging and friendly! We chose to purchase our photos for a very reasonable price. They hadn't been sent by the following day but I contacted the surf school and they sent them all across immediately.

Wow! What a fabulous experience! Our coaches were amazing and the whole staff was absolutely wonderful. Everyone there (I want to say there were about 12 of us total), had wonderful things to say about their coaches too! Would absolutely use this surf school while in Bali! They were amazing!!!!

Gede was a fantastic instructor! I was very lucky as there was just me and one other person in the group for the afternoon lesson so it was almost like a 1:1 session. Gede was very patient and gave us both feedback everytime we surfed. He stated in the water with us the entire time and I felt very safe and comfortable knowing that he was around.
I was slightly disappointed to hear that no photos or videos had been taken during the lesson. Gede said that it was only the morning session. However, I was asked for my email address when I booked so that videos and photos could be shared and I’ve never surfed before so some evidence, good or bad, would’ve been nice to have.
Other than that though, I can’t fault Gede at all. It was a brilliant afternoon!

In regards to surf pictures we did ask you supply emails for the surf pics but on the day you surfed our photographer was in hospital helping his wife have their baby it was sudden and out of our control.

I needed a refresher lesson having not surfed in about 6 years and came across these guys. To answer the main question, yes I think you should absolutely go ahead and book with them. Paul was helpful with sorting things out and my lesson with Lubis was great. He was extremely positive, patient and encouraging - everything you want in an instructor. He's called "the master guru" by his colleagues for a reason. Unbeatable value in the price and experience, and I would 100% recommend to everyone whilst in Bali.

The surfing lesson was fun, the waves were pretty big on the day of our lesson but we still felt safe and managed to learn how to stand up. Definitely recommend this excursion. We were helped by Darwin and Robert and received good tips from Paul too.

The surf coach "Pang" was quite thorough with the briefing at the start, but he was a little too intense and was quite impatient while he was teaching in the waters. The photographer (can't remember his name), however, was very friendly and he was quite encouraging as well. Lastly, "Paul" wrote a long message stating that in order for us to get the photos (which was promised in the package), we had to write a multi paragraph 5 star review. He deleted the message after 5 minutes of sending, and still sent us the photo nevertheless. Throughout the entire time the message was left unread.
Regardless, the coach still managed to teach us to stand on the board and catch some waves!

Pangs teaching even may come across strong but he is very detailed and professional surf coach and is considered one of the best surf coaches in Kuta!
He is a very caring and very experienced instructor with many years of instruction. I'm sure what you experienced was just a bit of a breakdown in communication.
We give our guests the surf pics for free but we do request they write a review this is optional we don't demand guests write a review you have misread the messages meaning.

This was such a fun and memorable experience! It was my first time attempting to surf and I had such a good time. The coach I had was patient, attentive, and super knowledgeable. Every time I would mess up he could tell me how to fix it, and he just kept encouraging me to get back on the board! The pictures they got of me were really nice too. If I’d had another day in Kuta, I would have signed up again. Highly recommend this lesson :).

A great surfing lesson for us. We were both complete beginners so having an instructor for just the two of us was very beneficial. We were standing up within the first 20 mins of the lesson and then developed at a comfortable pace making it an amazing experience. We are definitely going back for more lessons, absolutely loved it, thank you and see you soon!

Solid course. I made this with a friend. Meeting was half an hour earlier and easy to find. Valuables could also be stored very well in the safe of the vendors. There were several people at the meeting, but the surf course was more individual, so in one to three groups, depending on the one you were with. So the teachers knew how to respond well to one and always had an eye on one even in the water. Definitely recommended.
