Amazing Desa-Living
Deep into the desas outside of Jogjakarta, we walked amidst the Selogriyo terraced padi fields to reach the temple. We get to see how the villagers live, amidst their daily activities. Stopped for drinks and snacks of home-grown/roasted coffee, boiled cassavas and fried bananas at a kiosk overlooking the valley of pagi fields was really amazing.

The whole trip was...
The whole trip was excellent! Our driver, Irhas, was very friendly and knowledgeable, so the trip to the temple was fun as well.
The guide at the temple was excellent, and the temple itself was something out of this world. We easily give this trip 5 stars, even though the dinner was slightly disappointing. We were given rather small portions of food, and when we asked if we could have more, it was not possible. Most of the group went to eat dinner afterwards.
Despite that, it was an amazing trip.

Cost-effective tours
We were able to visit both Borobudur and Prambanan, places that would be difficult to get to on our own, in one day. Our driver, Irfan, was very kind and friendly. We always felt that he was looking out for us. Thanks to him, we had a wonderful time sightseeing.

Well coordinated activity - excellent driver (Eko) and guide (Jono)
Well coordinated activity. Our driver Eko contacted us via WhatsApp a day before the activity to confirm pick-up timing. He was punctual, speaks good English, and drove safely especially when there was a downpour on the way back to the hotel. Our private guide Jono (selected by tour agency) is an excellent storyteller and we thoroughly enjoyed his tour of Prambanan and the three Buddhist temples. Eko picked us from Candi Sewu to the dinner/performance venue by car, so we need not walk back to the Prambanan entrance. Buffet dinner had a good spread with reserved table facing an illuminated Prambanan, and the outdoor performance was enchanting. We could easily follow the plot after Jono’s explanation of the Ramayana bas-reliefs in Prambanan, and it was useful learning the legend in its entirety as the ballet focused only on core chapters.

Cooking is fun
Amer picked us up promptly at our hotel. He chatted with on the way to the market. At the market we bought some of the ingredients we later cooked. The cooking was in a family home, which had the other ingredients and cooking utensils out ready. We made a nice variety of dishes. My favourite was tempe and coconut jasmine rice.
Thank you Amer

Fantastic trip into the past!
Very well organised, informative and comfortable trip!
Maxi was really helpful, with good anecdotes about the monuments and people. He was very curious about other cultures and shared good insight about the people in the villages that we passed by.
Worth the money!

A beautiful day and Matthias was great fun
An excellent day all round! Matthias was organised and reached out to me the day before my trip confirming the plans. He was on time and handled all our reservations. Letting me relax in the car in the meantime - saved a lot of awkward hanging around which is appreciated particularly as a solo traveller. The sunrise was stunning at Borobudur - a real highlight. It’s a novelty being somewhere these days which isn’t flooded with tourists endlessly posing for photos as it was a limited number for the ‘VIP sunrise’. It made it feel more tranquil and personal. Being a bit cloudy made the guided tour nicer too as it wasn’t super hot.
Prambanan was also another showstopper for me. Naturally being a Saturday it was busy with local tourists but it didn’t feel packed and gave it a nice family friendly atmosphere in the grounds outside. Matthias never rushed me nor did he drag each stop out. We went whenever I was ready. This was particularly good at Mt Merapi as unfortunately being so cloudy here, there was nothing to see. A pity but no one can control the weather. I am fortunate to have seen a few volcanoes in my time so this wasn’t a deal breaker. I was more excited for the temples anyway.
Matthias found a great lunch spot overlooking the rice paddies at the end of the tour too. Staff here were friendly and attentive.
Matthias was great to chat to, both about local history, religion, the sites and customs but also general conversation and getting to know me. Equally he was also happy to let me sleep between stops (which was needed after a 3am start of course!)
I have to say it was also a breath of fresh air not being endlessly hassled throughout this tour about leaving him 5* star review and on multiple platforms. I’ve noticed this has become a real thing recently and I find very exhausting and feel less inclined to do so. But Matthias only mentioned it at the end and only if I was willing to. And for that, I certainly am willing to leave a review. So thank you Matthias for a wonderful day.

Great day out with Youss - sunrise is worth it!
Had a fantastic day out with Youss, who made me feel comfortable despite being the only person on the tour and who was great fun to chat with! The sights are amazing, the sequence of activities keeps you awake despite the early start, and Youss made sure there was time for a nap too had I needed it. Definitely recommend the tour 🙂

A Great Private Tour with a Fantastic Guide
We absolutely loved the tour. It ended up being just the two of us as a couple with the guide, which made the experience even more special. The temples are beautiful and quite far from Yogyakarta, so having transportation arranged for you is really convenient. Our guide, Haidar, was incredibly friendly, explained many things in detail, and answered all of our questions.

Amazing Bike Tour – Even in the Rain!
Amazing Bike Tour – Even in the Rain!
We had an incredible time on this bike tour! Since it was the low season, it ended up being just the two of us, which made it feel like a private, personalized experience.
Even though it was raining a LOT, we still had a blast. Biking through the rice fields was beautiful, and the rain actually added to the atmosphere. We also loved stopping to try the local tofu and other snacks along the way—everything was delicious. If you're looking for a fun and authentic way to see the area, we really recommend this tour!

Incredible day!
Bima was the absolute best! Picked me up early at my out-of-the-way hotel in Solo, great conversation in very good English that made the ride feel short, made sure I had everything I needed for my temple visits, including water and an umbrella. Told me the story of Rama and Sita with the Prambanan murals so I would understand the Ramayana ballet. Even climbed a tree (against my objections) to pick rambutans for me because I had said I liked them. This was an amazing day that I will remember for the rest of my life. Thank you, Bima!

Awesome, well paced full day tour
Our guide was Vega for the day, and we could have not been luckier with him! He made the tour smooth! We started with Borobodur, and we did not have to stand in line at all, caught the 8:30 guided tour! It was breathtaking! Then thr Jeep tour and finally the Prambanan complex! Between activities we had plenty of time to chill, and Vega told us stories about everyday life in Yogya! We had a blast! We expected a lot from the UNESCO wonders, but this tour made it even better!
