We saw lots of wildlife especially wallabies and kangaroos possums and koalas. Even aware sighting of a curlew with chick and an echidna finishing with a few Little penguins. Driver was very informative and was excellent at spotting wildlife

Our Luca was fantastic. He knew exactly where to find the animals and was very knowledgeable about the animals and the area. We saw wallabies, kangaroo, koala, possums, penguins and echidna. We had a great evening!

Luca was an excellent guide and the vehicle was comfortable and spacious. We saw kangaroo, wallaby, penguin, koala, echidna and curlew. Some star-gazing and friendly banter thrown in as well. A great way to spend a couple of hours after dark on KI.

Luca was an excellent guide and knew all the spots to find creatures in the night. We saw many possums, kangaroos, and wallabies as well as penguins, koalas, and birds. Bonus star viewing with Milky Way views was also spectacular. Did not disappoint!

We went for this trip with Luca and I can say it was a great experience. Luca is very knowledgeable and took us to the spots where we were able to see wild animals. His knowledge about KI is amazing and he was very professional. The car was very clean and Covid safe and he knew shortcuts in the wild which was a great drive.

The tour actually involves "following the guide on a night safari to observe the animals" and actually it is good to specify that this is done: you stay in the car and turn around the island paths waiting to see pass through the vegetation of the animals. The tour then takes place entirely by car. However in the tour carried out by us the guide realized he did not have the torches so first we turned a depot and his office and not having found them in the end we did the tour with the only torch in the guide's hand and the guests were without the torches, which in a night tour in itself makes the experience null and void. I think this is already unprofessional since the tour was booked for a long time and clearly it was not even checked to see if everything was in order. In addition, the van has tinted windows and also central seats, so observation is often made almost impossible. Very rarely did we stop to carefully spot any animals and we only got out of the car once to see a koala. To that I would add that our tour was booked for 8pm and no one informed us that the tour left at 8.30pm so we spent half an hour contacting viator to find out if we had been dropped off or not. The guide Luca you can see that he is very competent but perhaps a little particular. We did the tour with another Italian family including two children, I found it perhaps a little inappropriate that he used swear words or talked about farmers suicides without assessing with parents whether it was appropriate. Even with the other guests he showed great impatience when making remarks not in line with his point of view, being all Italian we exchanged a few words but he interrupted and monopolized the discussion. He showed himself at the end clearly intolerant of the guests so much so that when sighting the animals in a group and we reported him to stop this stopped even stopped to show us the animals. In conclusion, the tour does exactly what is written but considering that if you rented a car on kangaroo island you can do the exact same thing yourself since the animals at night are all over the island, the price paid for a drive is really out of place. Caro Francesco, Il tour effettivamente prevede di "seguire la guida in un safari notturno per osservare gli animali" ed effettivamente è bene specificare che questo si fa: si sta in auto e si gira per i sentieri dell'isola nell'attesa di vedere passare nella vegetazione degli animali. Risposta: si effettivamente questo e’ il concetto di “SAFARI” … Il tour quindi si svolge interamente in auto. Risposta: Essendo un giro di 55 km per fortuna si va in auto …. Tuttavia nel tour svolto da noi la guida si è accorta di non avere le torcie per cui dapprima abbiamo girato un deposito e il suo ufficio e non avendole trovate alla fine abbiamo fatto il tour con l'unica torcia in mano alla guida e gli ospiti eravamo senza le torce, che in un tour notturno di per sè rende nulla l'esperienza. Risposta: Non e’ previsto che i clienti usino le torce, la guida e’ incaricata di trovare gli animali ed illuminarli. Ritengo che già questo sia poco professionale visto che il tour era prenotato da tempo è chiaramente non è stato fatto nemmeno il check per verificare se tutto fosse in regola. Risposta: Purtroppo era il primo tour notturno dell’anno e la guida precedente non aveva messo via bene l’equipaggiamento. Prendiamo nota di questo disagio. Inoltre il van ha i vetri oscurati e anche posti centrali, per cui l'osservazione è resa spesso quasi impossibile. Risposta: Il van 4x4 della Mercedes Sprinter e’ cosi’ non possiamo farci nulla. Durante il tour ci fermiamo spesso e chiediamo ai clienti “ruotare” cosi’ tutti quanti possono sedersi davanti ed avere la vista migliore. Se questo non avviene perche’ i clienti a bordo non vogliono farlo … purtroppo non e’ colpa nostra. Molto raramente ci siamo fermati per avvistare attentamente qualche animale e siamo scesi dall'auto solo una volta per vedere un koala. Risposta: Per fortuna abbiamo visto un Koala! A ciò aggiungerei che il nostro tour era prenotato per le 20 e nessuno ci ha informato che il tour partiva alle 20.30 per cui abbiamo passato mezz'ora a contattare viator per capire se fossimo stati lasciati o meno. Risposta: Quando confermiamo il tour su Viator mandiamo immediatamente un messaggio usando la piattaforma con le informazioni del pick up, orario incluso … se non si leggono i messaggi purtoppo non possiamo farci nulla?? La guida Luca si vede che è molto competente ma forse un po particolare. Abbiamo fatto il tour con un'altra famiglia italiana inclusi due bambini, ho trovato forse un po poco appropriato che usasse parolacce o che parlasse dei suicidi dei contadini senza valutare con i genitori se fosse il caso. Risposta: Si forse qualche volta sono un poi’ “colorito” ma assicuro che non sono volgare. Ho parlato in questo caso dei suicidi perche’ a bordo mi avete chiesto come mai alcuni alberi erano pitturati di azzurro uscendo da Kingscote. Vi ho spiegato che cosa significavano e che cosa e’ il “R U OK” (https://www.ruok.org.au/). Inoltre vi ho spiegato come dopo gli incendi del 2020 molti contadini che hanno perso tutto si sono trovati in difficolta e come questo progetto che aiuta la popolazione a prevenire i suicidi siano importanti. Non mi sembra che sia un argomento “tabu” con i bambini … Inoltre i genitori dei bambini non mi sembrano che si siano lamentati? Se questo argomento era troppo per i bambini i genitori probabilmente mi avrebbero chiesto di fermarmi??? Anche con gli altri ospiti ha mostrato grande insofferenza quando si facevano osservazioni non in linea con il suo punto di vista, essendo tutti italiani scambiavamo qualche parola ma lui interrompeva e monopolizzava la discussione. Risposta: Onestamente si vi interrompevo ogni tanto perche’ quando cercavo di darvi delle informazioni riguardo gli animali voi chiacchieravate e parlavate di tutt’altro … Piu’ di un a volta ho iniziato a fare il commento e ho dovuto fermarmi perche’ avevate monopolizzato la conversazione parlando di tutt’altro … Si è mostrato alla fine chiaramente insofferente agli ospiti tanto è che quando avvistamento degli animali in gruppo e lo segnalavamo affinche si fermasse questi ha smesso anche di fermarsi per mostrarci gli animali. Risposta: A volte non possiamo fermarci sempre, ci sono dei posti come vicino a una curva dove non. Possiamo fermarci. In conclusione, il tour fa esattamente quello che c è scritto ma considerando che se hai noleggiato un auto a kangaroo island puoi fare la stessa identica cosa da solo visto che gli animali la notte sono in tutta l'isola, il prezzo pagato per un giro in macchina è davvero fuoriluogo. Risposta: certo potete guidare la vostra macchina da soli tenendo conto che chi vi noleggia la macchina vi vieta di guidare di notte a KI sara’ sicuramente meno costoso ripagare i danni causati dall’impatto di un canguro scoprendo che non si e’ assicurati di notte. ll tour, infatti, non serve a dimostrare che gli animali esistono, ma a spiegare cosa si sta vedendo, dove guardare e perché. Chi preferisce il “fai da te” è sempre libero di scegliere. Se a ciò aggiungiamo che l'unica cosa da fare nel tour era darci le torce e garantire a tutti la visione degli animali capirete bene che queste cose chiaramente non sono avvenute. Risposta: NO, le torce non era previsto darle ai clienti, erano solo 2 e servivano per andare a vedere i pinguini. Abbiamo sopperito alla mancanza di queste 2 torce usando un’altra torcia (quella che usavamo in passato). Queste torce hanno un filtro rosso che servono per non disturbare la visione notturna dei pinguini. In ogni caso la ringraziamo: le sue osservazioni ci aiutano a migliorare… e a controllare le torce con ancora più attenzione. Anche se, lo promettiamo, gli animali continueranno a non collaborare. Bellissimo tour serale durante il quale si riesce ad esplorare la natura di Kangaroo Island e vedere wallaby, canguri, Koala, opossum e, se si è fortunati, anche qualche pinguino sotto un incredibile cielo stellato! Ottima la guida di Luca, simpatico e coinvolgente, che racconta molto dell'isola e s'impegna al fine di riuscire a far vedere il più possibile ai partecipanti al tour. Consigliato!
