Everything Super Organized!

Katherine_A, May 2025
If you don't have much time—like my partner and I—but still want to experience the desert, this is the best option! Everything was well organized, the drivers were friendly, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious and generous. It would be great if the hosts at the haimas could share a bit more about desert life and their culture—it would make the experience even richer. The only downside for me was the return trip to Marrakech. It's quite far, and the road has a lot of curves, which made me feel a bit dizzy. That said, it's not the tour operator’s fault—it’s just the nature of the journey. If you have more time, I highly recommend booking a longer tour to enjoy the experience at a more relaxed pace.

Response from Host, May 2025

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We're happy to hear that you and your partner enjoyed the desert experience, especially with the warm hospitality and delicious meals. Your suggestion about learning more from the hosts is very valuable—it’s a great idea to make the cultural connection even deeper. And you're absolutely right. It's really a pleasure to serve you and we hope to welcome you on another memorable journey with us! see you soon again!

This two day trek was so much fun! A few stops for snacks/lunch and to see monkeys, easy and beautiful van ride, glorious night sky at the campsite — it all makes for a nice, entertaining getaway. Pro tip: get in contact before tour day if you want to ask questions, and ask about meal times when you’re on the van — my friends and I were confused at some of the stops (as they were not the meal times). Very friendly guys, thank you to Said and Youness for the safe, sweet travels!

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Thank you so much for your glowing comment! we are so glad to hear that your 2 days desert was such a delightful experience! It sounds like it was an amazing blend of relaxation and adventure—from scenic van rides to stargazing at the campsite. Those special stops for snacks and even monkey sightings must have added a unique charm to your journey! Your practical tips, like checking in about meal times and reaching out beforehand with questions, are super helpful for anyone planning a similar trip. we are deeply grateful for your genuine words and we hope to welcome you back for another incredible adventures with us! see you soon!

Highly recommend this tour!

Everyone was super friendly and it went smoothly. The drivers, guides, and hospitality staff at the camp were all great. The drive was long but super comfortable and we had many cool stops along the way. The views were incredible. It seemed like there were no monkeys on the day we went but our driver searched and we found some! Thanks to our guide Said!

Response from Host, Mar 2025

It sounds like everyone involved—from the drivers and guides to the hospitality staff—played a huge role in making this trip so enjoyable and seamless. The kids wanted to ride camels.

Glamping at the edge of the Sahara. Great drum circle. A lot of bus travel but worth it. Learned a lot on the way.

Response from Host, Mar 2025

What a unique and enriching experience! Glamping at the edge of the Sahara must have been an incredible mix of luxury and adventure. The drum circle sounds like such a fun and cultural highlight—those rhythms probably made the night magical. And even with a lot of bus travel, it’s great to hear that it was worth it, especially with everything you learned along the way! we are deeply grateful for your genuine words and we hope to welcome you back for another incredible adventures with us! see you soon!

All that ride only to get arrive in the dark

Daniel_F, Apr 2023
It’s a really, really long day in the car in which the advertised stops along the way are really just a few snatched minutes by the side of the road. Meanwhile other stops along the way were for the driver’s shopping errands. We arrived to the desert when it was already dark, really limiting the hurried camel riding experience - which was the whole reason for the trip. Then a hellishly long ride back the next day. Honestly could not recommend this.

Good experience, lots of driving

Mike_C, Oct 2022
A great time riding camels and seeing majesty of dunes. For 2 day trip, the driving was alot. I'd recommend 3+ days

An arabian night experience

Aminath_Z, May 2022
The whole experience was worth the 8+ hours drive to find the red dunes. it was magical and just like one of those arabian nights. The driver Abdullah drove us in the month of ramadan tirelessly and made every stop he had to make patiently. The desert camp host Salah and his brother gave us glimpse of their berber life in the desert. Also do go out to watch the stars in the desert with Salah ashe made it so special for us with his riddles. I regret not passing my gratitude to these guys and passing it on to others who contributed less to the experience. So I would like to highlight here that the camp hosts were realy the true stars of our experience and they are praise worthy.Would recommend this one night trip to the Ergchebbi as everything went as described in the package and there were no issues during the trip too.

Sahara Sunset and Sunrise

Kimberly_J, May 2022
To see the sunset in the desert is breathtaking. Our host were wonderful! An experience you will never forget. The. To see the sun rise was just a bonus!

The Sahara

Derryl_S, Feb 2020
We loved this trip, and had a great time. Everything was on time and ran smoothly. Mufasaha was very knowlegable and fun to spend our two days with.

Fantastic experience!

aireye99, Jan 2020
Mustafa was a fantastic guide! Although the trip was long (~9 hours), there were many interesting stops along the way. We saw Barbary Macaques and could feed them, we stopped at an oasis, and had a nice lunch stop. When we arrived at Erg Chebbi, we rode camels for a little while before stopping to hike up the dunes to watch the sunset. Absolutely breathtaking! Then it was back on the camels to ride to the camp. We were welcomed with tea and then had a few minutes to rest before dinner was served. After dinner, we sat around a fire and listened and danced to Berber music. The desert sky was so gorgeous—all those stars’! Absolutely fantastic tour!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE, TOTALLY WORTH IT

Maria_C, Aug 2019
We had a wonderful time in the desert, our driver Abdulh was a kind and super knowledged man, couldn’t have asked for a better guide on our way there. The camel ride and snowboarding in the sand was a one in a life time experience i’m sure i’ll never forget. The dinner and music in the night was also wonderful

Informative

John_C, Mar 2019
Mohammed, Omar and the others were very hospitable and informative. The trip from Fez was long and alot of time spent not spent or doing anything. Although, this trip gave a very good glimpse into the other non-urban areas of the country. The Sahara Desert should be a bucket list on everyone's "to do" and the trip allowed a good feel for this natural wonder. The camel ride and luxury desert camp were a bit "contrived" and staged but worth the extra spent to have the better attention. All in all, it was a great way of seeing more of Morocco and it's culture

Great Experience

Very well organised and truly a memorable experience. I would suggest though that ideal itinerary would be Fes - Desert tour - Marrakech. to get the best of the long trip.

An amazing experience! Hassan, our driver, was really nice. He showed us local, cheap, real Moroccan restaurants on our way to Merzouga. After arriving we went to the desert with a group of 13. They show you the sunset and sunrise the next morning in the dunes. Overall very recommended!

Julie L, Sept 2017
This trip was a highlight of our 10 day visit to Fes. It's a long road trip from Fes but our driver Mustapha made some great stops along the way to break up the very long car ride. Ifrane and a stop to see the monkeys were fantastic and Mustapha made many photo opportunity stops for us. He answered our many many questions and even looked out for some roadside honey sellers for us! Eventually we got to the desert and made the hours camel check to our camp for the night. The dunes of Erg Chebbi are amazing. Surreal almost. Completely worth that long drive. I was surprised to see a double bed in our roomy tent! I had been expecting a mattress on the ground. So that was a very pleasant surprise. Dinner was fantastic. Soup, tagine then fruit. Delicious! Followed by round the campfire music. The vibe there was fantastic. The sky was clear and I don't think I have ever seen so many stars. It was beautiful. After a good nights sleep we woke up before sunrise and climbed a dune to watch the sunrise. It was perfect. Then back to camp to saddle up and trek back to the hotel for breakfast, showers and the long long road trip home. Again, Mustapha made some stops we requested fossil shops and back to Ifrane for their gift shops and stopping for lunch along the way. I could not fault any of the trip. It's worth every penny and I would recommend it to anyone. Brilliant!

This trip was amazing! A great way to travel Morocco other than being in a city. The description is pretty accurate to what we get. We rode in a bus 5-7 hours to the desert, but had stops in the way, which made it go by quickly and enjoyably. Shout out to our driver, Hafet, who was so great!

Mohamed has been a fantastic guide and incredible driver. He took care of us for the 2 days we staid with him. I highly recommend this trip. The experience in the desert is amazing, All the staff of the desert, have been very friendly and the food in the tend was very nice. Mustapha has been our guide in the dunes and he with the other guys made us spent a fantastic night. It has been an incredible experience. Do not miss it!

Anthony_R, Feb 2017
This was the best part of visiting Morocco! Stephan was a great driver. Very informative, friendly, and safe. Haman was our guide in the desert and he did a fantastic job trekking us out in the desert, preparing dinner, and playing drums and singing by the camp fire at night. Everyone involved in our trip made us feel welcome and safe, as we were a little leary in the market areas and new at experiencing the desert. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Riding a camel as a family into the isolated Sahara Desert is an experience we'll treasure for a long time! Our guide was top notch! He picked us up from our hotel and was helpful in every way. We traveled with two young kids (ages 4 and 1). Just know that it's interesting but lots of driving!

Imprescindible !!

SARA_P, Sept 2023

Esperienza fantastica!!

Mario_F, Jan 2023
