Excellent experience at a luxury location. The chef and his assistant and all of the wait staff were wonderful. Be careful if you are gluten-free and/or vegetarian, though. The staff was not all versed in those needs. A note for those on the fence: I could skip the fish market - it was a quick, smelly stop after a longish car ride. Very immersive, but also not terribly appealing or sanitary for those who may be concerned.

A couple of things to know

Cappuccino, our driver, was great! He was a great communicator and driver. He was not in control of the negatives- namely, the road conditions! There were a few ‘included’ items that were not included. We didn’t have lunch. They didn’t buy our return boat tickets. And, I think it’s important for future clients to know, that 6:30 am is the time it starts if you’re coming from Sanur. If you’re on Nusa Penida already, you’ll be picked up at 10:00 am. I was not aware of that. Also, our driver could not take us to the harbor because there were five of us with all of our luggage. So, that was another additional expense. But, it was a good day and Cappucino was a great driver. 👍

10/10 unforgettable experience

We recently did the Ubud to Kawah Ijen trip and it exceeded all expectations from start to finish. Our driver, Dek, made the journey so easy — smooth, relaxed, and well organised the whole way. When we reached the ferry crossing, a porter helps you cross the ferry. On the other side, our second driver took us up to the mountain and was brilliant — friendly, safety-conscious, and clearly experienced with the route up to Ijen. They help you get the medical certificate on the way and that's all organised too and takes five minutes. A highlight was our guide Sugi, who led us on the trek up the mountain to see the famous blue flames. Sugi was knowledgeable, patient, and made sure we felt safe and supported the entire way, especially navigating the trickier sections in the dark near the gas and flames. Seeing the blue flames up close was unforgettable, and Sugi's guidance made the whole experience even more special. The blue flames are unreal, and also seeing the gas lume in the dark was intimidating at first but really cool when you're close. The sunrise was probably the best view I have ever seen. You see the sunrise break over the horizon to reveal the blue coast and jungle shoreline and then you just turn to your right and you can see the acidic lake, sulfur gas plume, and volcanoes in the background with the moon still out. It's unreal. From the driver, to the porter, to the second driver, and finally Sugi's expert guiding — every part of this trip was seamless and well looked after. Couldn't recommend it more highly. Note - it's obviously exhausting by the end of it since you're coming from Ubud and it's a 22 hour round trip and around 24,000 steps, but if you're up for adventure it's worth it.

Incredible Kecak Dance at Uluwatu

Amazing experience watching the Kecak Fire Dance at Uluwatu! Our guide Hari was timely, well spoken, and knowledgeable. We got to walk around the temples exploring and watching the young monkeys play before watching the Kecak dance. It started raining just before the performance but the crew was ready with raincoats for everyone! And the rain made the performance even more beautiful! After the dance, we drove to Jimbaran Bay for an amazing seafood dinner and fireworks by the beach (all costs included!). But watch out for those cheeky monkeys at Uluwatu, we nearly lost a pair of glasses! Secure your belongings!

We had an absolutely amazing tour of Nusa Penida! The snorkeling experience was incredible, and the crew went above and beyond by guiding my mom throughout the journey, capturing fantastic pictures and videos for her. We took this tour from our cruise. We were meet on time by our guide. Unfortunately it was raining. He had extra umbrellas and ponchos for us if needed. We had quite a drive from the port to gates of Heaven. We stopped at a coffee shop, which was beautiful. Then continued to The gates of Heaven and a few water temples. Everything was breathtaking. Our guide was very informative. Would definitely recommend.
