-Overall, it’s a well organized tour at a reasonable price.
-We are happy that our tour bus has a clean bathroom.
-Our 6 yr-old son was a bit tired of the Chichen Itza because of hot and humid weather but you can take a rest under the shade of trees. He was afraid of the Senote first, but it became a memorable experience for him.

Fantastic Day Trip from Cancun!
This was a really great way to see 3 fantastic areas outside of the all inclusive Cancun resort life - Chichen Itza, Cenote Oxman and Valladolid. The lunch in Valladolid was so good I am still thinking about it! Communication was outstanding and day was great with Benicio behind the wheel/guiding. Highly recommend this tour.

Eyder did an incredible job of sharing the incredible story and information of Chichen Itza. Its an incredible site! We highly recommend him as a tour guide. Very informative, very good English, very good at helping us all to understand about the site and the incredible Mayan Culture. I would also recommend staying local (We stayed at the Hacienda Chichen) and after a hot day at the ruins, go back for a nice soak in the pool!

Chichen Itza
Our private tour of Chichen Itza was worth every penny and easily one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide, Antonio (“Tony”), was a true professional—his depth of knowledge brought the history and culture to life in a way that made the experience unforgettable. After exploring the ruins, we dove into a stunning cenote and then wrapped up the day strolling through a charming old town with an incredible lunch. If you’re considering a guided experience, ask for Tony—you won’t regret it.

Fantastic!
It was fantastic! Great tour with Pastor and David, wouldn't change anything. Pastor is super passionate about his job and great host. He provided several information of the mayan culture, cenotes and Chichen Itza. Super kind and patient with the people. Tour was on time and they picked up and left us in our hotel. The bus was in good conditions: good seats, bathroom and clean.

An amazing day tour to...
An amazing day tour to Cenote Chichikan, Chichen itza and Valladolid. We swam in the cenote which was beautiful. They have clean changing rooms and lockers so, carry your swimsuit. Chichen itza was a marvel! The guides Paul and Frank were knowledgeable but, also entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed them as our guides. Our driver Francisco was also great and the bus was always on time.

Memorable experience with family
Tour was excellent, tour guide is knowledgable. Travel is relaxing. Visiting Chichen itza, one of the 7 wonders of the world is smooth with free time and opportunity to explore. Passing by cenote and swimming in fresh water before travelling back is an excellent stop after a warm tiring day.

The leg room in the van...
The leg room in the van is a little small, but the trip is definitely worth it. Jesús and Alex were a great tour guide and driver. Being able to walk to the top of Ek'Balam is truly amazing, and of course Chichen Itza and the Cenote are both also great

When to visit

Many tours are led by archaeologist tour guides, who are well-versed in Maya culture.
The Ossario group and Central group are open to everyone; Chichén Viejo (Old Chichén) is only open to archaeologists.
Come prepared for the heat with light clothing, sunscreen, bottled water, and a hat.
This popular site can get extremely crowded—book an early-access tour to beat the crowds.
Skip Sundays, when the site is free to enter for Mexican nationals and incredibly busy.
People Also Ask
Do you need to book Chichen Itza in advance?
No, but buying Chichen Itza tickets in advance can be a good idea to avoid disappointment and save time on the day. This is because tickets often sell out and there tend to be long lines at the ticket desk. Plus, you don't need to worry about bringing cash on the day to cover your admission fee.
How long do I need at Chichen Itza?
Plan to spend half a day at Chichen Itza, or up to four hours. This will give you enough time to explore the main sights, cenotes, and more without feeling rushed.
What is the best day of the week to visit Chichen Itza?
Early morning on a weekday is the best time to visit Chichen Itza because you can avoid the tour bus crowds which tend to arrive mid-morning. Sunday is perhaps the worst day for a non-Mexican resident to visit Chichen Itza, as Mexican residents enjoy free entry on Sundays and the ruins fill up fast.
Can you swim in the cenotes at Chichen Itza?
No. The only cenote which forms part of the Chichen Itza site is known as the Cenote Sagrado and while you can observe it from above, you can't swim in it. There are, however, dozens of nearby cenotes where swimming is permitted.
Can you still climb the pyramid at Chichen Itza?
No, you cannot climb the pyramid at Chichen Itza. Climbing any structures at Chichen Itza is prohibited, including that of the main pyramid which has been off-limits to visitors since 2008.
What do you wear to Chichen Itza?
As Chichen Itza is located in the Yucatán Peninsula, the weather tends to be hot and humid year-round. Wear light layers and shoes that are comfortable for walking, as the site is huge and well worth exploring in its entirety. You may also want to pack sunscreen and plenty of water.
