The holy village of Walsingham has been one of England’s most important pilgrimage sites ever since the 1061, when an apparition of the Virgin Mary appeared to one of the townswomen. Using an app on your smartphone, you'll be given nearly 120 objects to find during your scavenger hunt. You'll then wander throughout the downtown area searching for the items. Once you've found the object, you'll send a photo in to score points. Along the way, you will perform challenges for even more points. You'll have 13 categories of objects you can find in this city walk, with each object varying in points depending on the difficulty. Don't worry, you won't be alone. You'll have a remote guide that will be texting you during your game if you need help or have a question. They will also encourage you and give you hints along the way! The objective of the game is to have fun, rank #1 on the leaderboard, and try to get as many points as possible by finding all of the objects!

This tour is great for anyone making a day trip from London. We would meet you outside Peterborough Station (45 minutes from London) or indeed from anywhere else you might be travelling.  The site of Peterborough Cathedral was originally Roman, in the 7th century it became a monastic community though that was all but destroyed by the Great Heathen army under the splendidly named Ivar the Boneless. The current Peterborough Cathedral was built after the Norman conquest and seen of activity since then and two queens were buried here including Katherine of Aragon whose tomb we will visit. From here we will make a short journey to the beautiful small town of Crowland which despite it’s modest size is home to two remarkable historical places of interest. The first of which is Crowland Abbey with its picturesque ruins and often dramatic history. Nearby is the unique medieval Trinity Bridge, said to be the biggest curiously in the country.

It's a short walk to the wonderful old Guildhall. Built originally in 1671 it has served as both a market & a townhall. A farmers market is still held here regularly along with many over events in the square. A short stroll away is the really rather wonderful Peterborough Cathedral which we shall explore inside. We can then get the train a short distance to either the beautiful Georgian Town of Stamford famed as being the most beautiful stone built and Georgian town in Britain. Then on to Oakham, see the unique castle set amongst its old walls and beautiful park with old bandstand. Admire the fabulous old church and check out the old Stocks in the Buttermarket amongst much more besides. Oakham and Rutland are known for being great for foodies and there is lots to see & buy.
