We packed so much into...
We packed so much into this incredible morning tour and still made it back to the city before noon. Our guide, Van, was exceptionally professional and elevated the whole experience by offering fascinating history about Vietnam that went beyond just My Son!

My Son Sanctuary Tour
This was an excellent tour. The driver was right on time and I travelled in a small van with 7 other guests. It had great AC. The ruins were beautiful in a gorgeous green jungle mountain setting. I’m so happy I got up at 5:00 for this! Our guide, Lin, was friendly, engaging, and attentive. She connected with each guest, checking in throughout the tour and adjusting to people’s interests. She pointed out monkeys for those interested in wildlife and had a more detailed conversation with me about Champa architecture and history as we walked. At the coffee and food stops, she explained the items clearly so we could know what to expect and how it was eaten. Along the way Lin also shared a few personal stories that helped give some cultural context. She was the best guide I’ve had in Vietnam. The early morning start was a great choice. It helped avoid the crowds and the worst of the heat. Highly recommend.

10/10 recommend this unique experience.
I did the Hoi An Full Lantern Making Class, and it was such a fun experience. Our instructors, Huy and his brothers and sisters, were all incredibly lovely, patient, and helpful. Huy especially was amazing, I’m definitely not the crafty type, but he made the whole process enjoyable and helped me every step of the way. They taught us about the history of lanterns, which was was fascinating, and creating our own lantern was such a unique experience. We got to choose our own design and were taught how to assemble the lantern, as well as how to properly collapse and reopen it without damaging it. Plus, the playlist was absolutely banger. 10/10 I highly recommend this class!

Wonderful excursion into the local food of Hoi An
We took the food tour with Swan, it was a great experience. Swan was very engaging and at the outset created a congenial atmosphere for all members of the tour. She combined visits to sites where some of the raw sources of food were derived (noodle makers, sprout producers), and then to various restaurants/foodcarts/vendors where the actual foods were prepared and consumed. The tour took us to places we would have never found on our own and gave us a greater connection to the lives, livelihoods and food of regular Vietnamese. It was a delicious and delightful experience.
