Private tour is the way to go
We really enjoyed this private walking tour. Our guide Christele was one of the best guides she knew all the history of Bayeux and explained it perfectly! Doing this tour privately was the best way to see and learn about the area.
Thank you Christele for having such a passion for what you do! You taught me so mush

The Best way to Appreciate Bayeux.
Christele was an amazing host and tour guide. There is little she does not know about the incredible town of Bayeux and she has an engaging way of imparting that knowledge. Don’t miss it!

Worth it
This tour with Igor was fantastic. He picked us up on time from the Bayeux train station and took us through the Bayeux Tapestry Museum, Falaise, and Caen. We learned a great deal and will use his services again the next time we are in Normandy.

One of our favorite day trips ever!
What an absolutely delightful day we enjoyed with our guide, Rose! She was the greatest - knowledgeable, funny, efficient, and kind. We got to experience even more than we hoped for, and all because of Rose. Loved the Bayeaux Tapestry, and Honfleur was as charming as we had hoped. Highly recommended!

If you can't get to Bayeux before the museum closes, do get Igor to take you around Normandy
You should be prepared to be flexible and not on a tight time schedule. The ride from Rouen to Bayeux should take 1 3/4 hours. It took 3 due to 2 accidents on the road. The Bayeux Tapestry was fantastic. The recorded explanation was very good. Run, don't walk to see it before the museum closes for restoration for 2 years at the end of August. Be prepared for long lines to get in. But our guide/ host Igor was a magician
He got us in through the "group" entrance. He clearly knew the person working the desk. Due to physical limitations, we chose not to go to the Castle, too many stairs. We went on to Caen and saw the tombs of Matilde and William the Conqueror. As a person with a PhD, who knows a lot of history, Igor was very knowledgeable and informative. He knew the obvious and the obscure. You would be lucky to have him show you around all of Normandy

Exceptional Tour
Igor was an amazing guide. The city of Rouen is absolutely stunning. The medieval architecture, cathedral, and clock tower - all beautiful, but Igor's expertise in the region's history brought it all to life, and tied all the events together for us to weave a rich tale of the area. Igor worked with me from day one to accommodate exactly what we wanted and needed. He was absolutely fantastic: Personable, knowledgeable, and well prepared with materials to show the area map and the bloodline of the various rulers and warriors. Great tour!

Intrepid Windy Tour of Bayeux
Christele Tait was an awesome tour guide, we thoroughly enjoyed our two hour tour. She was loud enough for us to hear and understand as we were walking in 50 mile an hour wind. She was very conscientious of our comfort level and constantly receive all of the stories together, and did it great summary at the end. Highly recommend

Best Walking Tour Ever!
Christele is beyond amazing! As a 60-something female traveling solo, she went above and beyond to introduce me to Bayeux. Her storytelling ability, her recaps weaving the collective history together, and her entertaining sense of humor kept me hanging on her every word. By far, this was the best tour I have ever taken as a solo traveler--highly, highly recommend!

Important Village Through the Centuries
Our guide was very knowledgeable. It was difficult to imagine life from the 900s to the 1400s. Yes, we are amazed by the age of buildings, but what was life like for the people of such a village? Also, making it more relatable to tourists in 2024, focus on the past 2-3 centuries rather than 1000 years ago. How about some stories of the people?
