Great weather. Guide was nice. Very thorough tour. There were so many parts of Brooklyn that I didn’t know about. I learned a lot. Brooklyn is absolutely gorgeous!

Awesome bike ride with John and Sebastian. It was great to see everything that “began in Brooklyn”. 😆
Response from Host, Nov 2024
Yes, everything began in Brooklyn - Hah!

We had a great time with our guide Ben. He took us on a 4-hour biketour through Brooklyn. He showed us some must-see places and told us interesting facts about the different spots.
I definitely recommend this tour. If Ben is your guide, you’re good.

Our guide was phenomenal! He knows more about Brooklyn, than the natives! He was very conscientious to keep us all safe, calm and stress free! We would not hesitate to use Frank V. again!

We had the best time with Frank, cycling through Brooklyn. He was able to answer all our questions and it was accustomed to our needs, as due to bad weather, my partner and I ended up with a "private tour". Best pizza in town, stunning anecdotes about history and architectural spots were all in for us. The hours just flew by and we had such a blast, that not even the heavy rain in the end was able to kill our good vibes that day. Thanks so much for the great tour, we will absolutely make sure to book the Manhattan tour as well next time around!

While our tour guide John was excellent and the tour itself was lots of fun, Viator was terrible! On our electronic ticket, under “Location” there was no address other than “Brooklyn NY,” and when you clicked on that, you got a GPS map that did NOT take you anywhere near the starting location for the tour. I emailed and text-messaged Viator and got no response. My recommendation is to avoid using Viator and go directly to the tour operator’s site. John at Brooklyn Giro Bike Tours was very patient. He and the rest of the group waited for us to arrive 15 minutes late because Viator had provided us with such vague and useless directions. Once I reached John on the phone, he stayed on the line with us and gave us correct navigation. I highly recommend John and his tour company, but I will not go through Viator again!

Pluses
Frank a great guide delivering the right amount of historical perspective mixed with contemporary information and anecdotes, the best tour guide I have had ever
The tour touching covering the most relevant places in Brooklyn
The pace, leisurely without ever becoming boring
The bicycle that fitted and worked perfectly
The routes and bicycle paths chosen always very safe
Minuses
None I can think of except for the location a bit far (20 minutes) by foot from any subway station

Frank was a terrific guide - provided the perfect mix between history, current events and celebrity gossip. Went all over Brooklyn. What a fun afternoon!
Elsie_M, May 2023
Holden was very knowledgeable. Shared lots of historical info as well as current day info about Brooklyn and made the ride much more interesting and fun. He was very nice and has a great smile.
Gill_M, Apr 2023
We had the most fantastic day, interesting stories and great history of the different districts of Brooklyn. Frank answered all our questions(of which there were many) and helped us understand the way Brooklyners think. Would love to repeat the tour with this company when they have famous people from Brooklyn. Highly recommend to home wanting to see how this part of the city came to be.
Response from Host, Apr 2023
Thank you so much from Brooklyn GIro

All parts were very interesting for us. We consider to book next time a trip again and even stay in a hotel in Brooklyn
Morghan_G, Sept 2022
Frank was a great tour guide. Showed us amazing areas, took us to a wonderful pizzeria, and was observant of all our surroundings.
Response from Host, Sept 2022
Thank you for your review. Frank is new to us and as a retired NYC police officer, he has so many storied to tell. We strive to hire locals with rich history.

This bike ride was disappointing. According to the reservation it was 4 and half hours, but after 3 hours we were 'done'. According to the guide Seth, that was because we came from the Netherlands and cycle so fast. That was not true at all, because he was leading the way. I also missed Williamsburg in the tour, which I had been looking forward to. The guide indicated that it was because he would do Williamsburg with 2 from the group. The had the full day! Another hour! Real disappointing and not worth your money.
Response from Host, May 2022
You were not booked on a tour that goes into Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Brooklyn is a massive place with 60+ neighborhoods. Please read our tour descriptions. Your friend was too exhausted to continue with the next group that headed into North Brooklyn which includes Williamsburg and Seth offered to take you with them. You declined. You booked our Brooklyn Tour which is a tour of the original city of a Brooklyn, our hone, before Brooklyn was incorporated in the 1830s. While Williamsburg is fun and a trendy part of Brooklyn that has been developing since 2005 zoning law changes, we don’t see that on the tour you booked. We offer 9 different tours currently, some of which aren’t even listed. As avid cyclists we’d love to say we could simply take you all over Brooklyn, but that’s not doable.

I really enjoyed the tour. Got lucky with the weather for February. Seth was a great guide. He gave us a good sampling of Brooklyn neighborhoods and he obviously knew his stuff. Go.
Response from Host, Mar 2022
Thank you for your review. Seth does know his stuff!

Great guide. Fascinating. Bikes in good condition. Brooklyn is wonderful. Red hook and dumbo esp cool
Raymond_S, Jun 2021
Had a great time riding around Brooklyn. Covers lots of ground but only for adult/teens who can navigate busy streets on a bicycle. Also, plan/hope for nice weather as it can get grueling and less enjoyable if the day is too hot.
One critique is to reduce the visits to various neighborhoods, in exchange for more time at the famous sites (we rode through DUMBO without spending time there).
Lynnl203, Jun 2020
Saw about 6 neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Sampled the foods and stopped at a small brewery. Robby was great. Had the best day.

Positive surprise of a part of the city that is not in the tour's.our guides , John, very smart and generous with informations about all small detail if past and upcoming future of Brooklyn. Really the best time we had in NY

There’s a ferry stop directly in front of our location in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Direction cans be found on our site and it’s walkable from the York Street Subway stop which is the first stop into Brooklyn from Manhattan
