While it’s free to explore the Al Seef neighborhood, tours offer a great way to experience its blend of classic and contemporary architecture. Walking tours that combine Al Seef with other nearby attractions, such as Dubai Creek and the Dubai Spice Souk, start from around US$18.

Like the rest of Dubai, swimwear is fine when you’re at the pool or beach, but is frowned upon in entertainment districts such as Al Seef. It’s recommended to dress conservatively at heritage sites. Many travelers opt for smart-casual attire when dining at restaurants in this district.

Al Seef is renowned as a Dubai dining hot spot, so it’s a great place to come for lunch or dinner. Restaurants here range from Lebanese small plates and Emirati-style seafood to Indian curries and steak with waterfront views. Other options include Palestinian, Kuwaiti, and traditional Arabic cuisines.

The main things to do in Al Seef include visiting the mesmerizing Museum of Illusions, home to 80 different mind-bending exhibits; browsing the souk-style stalls, which sell everything from wooden carvings of camels to shirts featuring Dubai’s skyline; and taking an abra (traditional wooden boat) ride along Dubai Creek.

Yes, Al Seef is near several other Dubai attractions. It’s not far from the traditional shopping destinations of the Dubai Spice Souk and the Dubai Gold Souk, which are a far cry from the nearby BurJuman, an ultra-modern mall. Right next door is the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, which is home to many cultural attractions.
