Anyone can be a Vietnamese cook for the day

This tour is fun and interesting . Small group of 8 which was perfect. We were taken to the local food markets to buy our produce that we were to use later in our cooking class. Hi our guide explained about the herbs and greens and spices. We then were taken to the river for the basket boats. Fun and different. Also watched a fish net thrown. After this we were taken by bus back to the cooking school. Or cook Hi made it alot of fun and we learnt enough about cooking each of the 4 meals and with the recipes to cook at home. Hi is a great chef!

Hoi An is a beautiful...

Hoi An is a beautiful city. What impressed me the most were the Night Market with its beautiful lights, the evening boat ride with the lantern release, and Coconut Village, especially the basket boat experience. Our tour guide was very friendly and kind, and the whole trip was very well organized. I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend it!

Good fun!

The earlier you go the better - officially our experience was 8-10 but at the recommendation of the organiser, we went 7.30-9.30am. It was already hot but the river wasn’t too busy. The boat guides worked hard to keep you entertained and our children enjoyed the spinning and crabbing!

We honestly can't stop talking about this tour! It started exactly on time, as promised — no waiting around, no surprises, just straight into an epic ride in a super cool military jeep that instantly made the whole day feel like an adventure. The tour took us deep into rural villages to see how people in Vietnam actually live, away from all the touristy spots — such an eye-opening and authentic experience. Our guide Lam was phenomenal: excellent English, incredibly knowledgeable, and constantly sharing insights about local life, history, and culture that we never would've picked up on our own. What really made it special was how flexible Lam was — he happily adjusted the route to fit what we wanted to see more of. On top of everything, he turned out to be an amazing photographer, capturing shots of us we didn't even know we needed! From start to finish, the whole experience was awesome. Super friendly, super professional, and 100% recommended for anyone who wants a real, unforgettable look at Vietnam. Ask for Lam — you won't regret it!

Thank you so much for a great morning. We chose the early morning tour to My Son to beat the crowds and heat and it was definitely worth the early alarm clock. Thanks to Tony our guide and to the driver whose name I have forgotten, apologies. They were timely, professional, helpful and kind. We spent a good amount of time at My Son, free time and also guided. The arrival tea/coffee/water was very welcomed. The chicken noodle soup for breakfast was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed the rice noodle making. The finishing boat trip was good but we could definitely have done without the terrible disco music. Thankfully the captain read the crowd and it was turned off after 2 songs- thank you.

Interesting highlight in Hoi An

This was such an interesting tour of the backstreets and unknown parts of HoiAn guide. Kim was really interesting …helpful… caring of each person only three people on this tour but we all had a really great time. Lots of interesting food tastings which we really enjoyed and learning about old Time skills and producers in and around the town. Lots of walking but we had lots of stops to sit down and try different types of food etc. It really is worth doing it. Highly recommend it.

Wonderful experience

Mr Bao, he is good driver, very careful on how he drives. I was expecting him to drop me at each place and pick me up but he helped with the tickets, walked with us to alll the way to ticket entry to make sure that we are not lost in Ba na hills. He walked with us on Lady Buddha and took wonderful pictures. If you are looking for private tour then ask for him.

Wonderful tour guides

Had a great time. Wonderful guides, Lanh, Lam, Phu. VIP treatment the whole time. Picked us up at hotel in the Jeep, and the Jeep ride made me smile so much, for so long, my face hurt. Lanh told us all the facts and history we wanted to know about the tour and Da Nang as well. Walked slowly for us older folks and gave us ample time to sightsee. Made it easy to enjoy the few flights of stairs in this humid weather. Lam drives very carefully and again, made us feel like special guests. Phu and the Jeep driving was a blast as well. He can spot a monkey in the trees at 30 yards while driving at 20mph. Took plenty of photos for us, sent them all to us before trip was done. Modified the tour per our request and I can honestly say I feel like I have buddies at Local Buddy Tours. Thanks team, you made a great day and memory for this 64 yo American male, Vietnamese wife and son. (Yes Lanh spoke in both English and Vietnamese for us)
