While we appreciated our guide’s conversational delivery and extensive historical knowledge, this was not the fun, Caribbean pirate ghost tour we were expecting based off of the website’s description. We were with one other group, who was lovely, and we each had a child 13 or under. There was a lot of emphasis on rapes, murders, and women wrongly accused of being whores, and we each had to have conversations with our kids on the fly to mitigate damage. Furthermore, my partner was the only man on the tour and she kept making it clear that the tour was for the women and he felt singled out and thought about leaving midway through. We had one stop for beverages at a local dive bar where the bartender was screaming curse words over and over at her regulars, and we all felt unwelcome and that it was inappropriate for the kids to be there, but as out of towners, we had no bearings to find another location to buy waters on the hot night without disrupting the rest of the tour. I also asked if she had any pirate lore to share, as advertised, and she just said that was more in the fire time and she didn’t know any stories. That said, from an adult perspective, I appreciated her matter-of-fact approach to the reality of life in 1700s Christiansted. If I had been prepared for her content, I would have taken away her excellent storytelling and ability to draw the audience in, because she’s great at it. It just wasn’t at all what was advertised and she could have read the room better.

Our tours have an age minimum for a reason and are intended to be just under PG-13 level. We cover the true history of Christiansted, including murder, executions, slavery, and other darker aspects of the island's past. We believe history should be presented authentically rather than sanitized, and that commitment to historical accuracy is something we're very proud of. I also want to clarify that we do not discuss rape on our St. Croix tour, so I was surprised to see that mentioned. Regarding pirate stories, I believe there may have been some confusion. Pirate history is primarily featured on our St. Thomas tour, not our St. Croix tour. We don't add fictional legends or theatrical stories simply for entertainment. Everything we share is rooted in documented local history, local folklore, and firsthand accounts. This is listed on the descriptions of the tours on the website. While we don't shy away from the darker chapters of history, that's certainly not the entire experience. The tour also includes Caribbean folklore, including tales of werewolves, shapeshifters, and other island legends, along with lighter moments, humor, and plenty of banter throughout the evening. We intentionally balance the spooky atmosphere with engaging storytelling so the experience is entertaining as well as educational. Our website also states that the tour includes a brief stop at a local bar where guests may purchase a drink or use the restroom. While we can't control the behavior or language of patrons in a public establishment, children are welcome to remain outside with a parent if preferred. As for the comment that the tour was "for the women," our guides discuss the lived experiences of many different people throughout history, including women, enslaved individuals, soldiers, merchants, and others whose stories deserve to be told. That is never intended to single out or alienate anyone—our tours are for everyone. If someone is offended by what happened in the past don’t worry we agree and so do the people it happened to. We've welcomed many families over the years, and whether this type of historical content is appropriate for younger guests is ultimately up to each parent's discretion. For guests looking for a lighter or more personalized experience, we recommend booking a private tour, where the content can be tailored to the group. Our public tours are designed for those who want an authentic ghost tour grounded in real history, including its darker chapters. Compared with many ghost tours around the world, our tours are actually quite mild. We focus on genuine history, folklore, and documented hauntings rather than graphic or sensationalized storytelling. Thank you again for your feedback. We had a super “Ghost Tour” last night! Our guide, whose name I didn’t catch, was passionate about her heritage and the island she calls home. Not a rehearsed word, just stories -many scary- and odd historical occurrences that she wove together for a 110% night! She was patient with one of our group who had slight mobility issues, kind and knowledgeable. This is our 21st year on St.croux and gave this tour a “whirl”… we are glad we did. Entertained, fascinated and we learned some new things. Thanks to our guide!!!🙏💕

Andres made this a really great choice and was an A+ guide, very knowledgeable about all things ghostly. Be prepared to walk and absorb this one, the history of St Croix comes alive with the stories of the ghosts that still are in residence. The history of the buildings combined with the folklore made for a fascinating walk through downtown. Don’t forget to ask about the werewolves!

The roads we walked were a little dangerous. It’s easy to fall or trip due to the uneven and tore up roads etc. The tour guide was great though. The buildings were amazing and stories were amazing.

A fun and interesting ghost tour. Ashlyn arrived promptly at the pick up location and began the tour with a short introduction and overview. She is personable as well as knowledgeable about St. Croix ghost history and folklore. We especially loved learning about the jumbies. A very enjoyable experience for a great price!

Excellent walking tour of the town with history info weaved in with paranormal stories. Interesting to learn the history of the Irish on the island in 1700’s. Also loved the story about the Dutch men werewolves. Highly recommend if you want to do something different and also learn about the history of the island and hear some interesting paranormal stories.
