Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, he was a history student and had lots for information to pass on to the group. We enjoyed walking the streets of upper and lower Quebec, which we would not of seen if we hadn’t taken the tour.

Guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We visited interesting sites, and heard history of the area. We like to start a vacation with a walking tour of the city and this was a very good experience for our group of 6.

UrbanHorizons is the guides own business and he takes a lot care in the questions and needs of the group. Great history lesson, 2hr easy walk but some steps.

Great tour for learning the history of Quebec City! Our tour guide Jean-Simone was very informative and kind. He answered everyone’s questions and made sure to make recommendations of where to go for food and drink and activities after the tour. Felt like we knew our way around the Old City after the tour ended.
Heather_L, July 2026
Our tour guide is very knowledgeable about the history of all the sites we visited. He was softball in making sure we get to a shaded spot and with places to sit at each stop. It was a very relaxing and informative tour. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a two hour history lesson about old town Quebec.
Tom_K, July 2026
Very informative tour by a local of Quebec (Jean Simon). We learned so much about the history of Quebec.

Excellent tour with a very knowledgable guide. Highly recommended. Not physically demanding either. A really great way to explore the city and find out about the history.
Patty_M, July 2026
Very knowledgeable guide with a good sense of humor. Was also very good with questions, even when the politics of Quebec leaving canada came up
Marylyn_H, July 2026
Our guide was very good! Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable of Quebec City as he was born and raised in Quebec City.
We had three teenagers in which he was able to keep engaged!
Jennifer_S, July 2026
The experience was pleasant and very informative. The guide paced the tour well, allowed for times to sit, and chose interesting areas of focus.

Do not miss this tour! Jean-Simon is an amazing guide! You will learn so much about the history of old Quebec and hear some amazing and interesting stories.
He is personable, knowledgeable, and informative.
We were extremely lucky as we had a private tour as there was just my husband and myself as we went in the afternoon and rain was predicted. The morning tour had 20 people. It did not rain and we ended up having this fabulous tour!

We were in Quebec City for two days and this was a great way to see the city in a short amount of time. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and each site visited, and made the tour very interesting. We had our children with us (teens and 10 year old) and they also enjoyed it.
Gordon_V, June 2026
We thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed our guide, Jean Simone. His affability, energy, and knowledge made the tour totally worth the time we spent on the tour. We learned so much about the history of Quebec!
Nancy_M, June 2026
Maurice was a knowledgeable, funny and engaging tour guide. The pace of the walk was just right and we felt we had a better understanding of the history of Quebec after our tour.
Erin_H, June 2026
Jean-Simon was perfectly accommodating when a thunderstorm impacted the tour. He rebooked me for the next day without issue. I also found, when booking, that this tour was affordable, especially compared to others that were double the price. My tour guide Maurice was very knowledgeable, engaging, and funny. I enjoyed his tour and learned a lot! This is a great way to see much of the city and learn its history; perfect to inform future exploration or illuminate insights in places I'd already seen. Bravo et merci beaucoup!
Sean_P, June 2026
Our guide was Maurice and he was perfect! Friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly, very experienced. He led our group through both the upper and lower village and shared insider information on history and current events. Highly recommend Maurice and this tour!
Ginger_G, June 2026
Great walking tour. Rest of the people canceled since it was raining at the start, but it cleared up within the first half hour so we got a private tour. Learned a lot about the city.
Philip_K, June 2026
Good knowledge of the area. Without a guild you really don’t know what you are looking at.
Our guild did a great job but did give us a bad lead on a poutine restaurant.
Response from Host, June 2026
Thank you Philip for the kind words about the tour. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Regarding the poutine, I'm sorry to hear it wasn't a great experience. When asked, I share a few different spots since tastes vary, and they are independent restaurants outside the tour itself.
I hope it didn't take away too much from the rest of your visit to Old Quebec!

Jean was great! Lots of history knowledge of Quebec. We got a wonderful insight into the history of Quebec as well as the history of the buildings. Very personable. Our flight was delayed for a day and Jean was able to accommodate us for the next day. Much appreciated.

Jean-Simon was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable, interesting and friendly. The weather was not the best, but he worked around it and made us as comfortable as possible. We had a question for him and although he did not know the answer, he later emailed us the answer. I highly recommend him and this tour of beautiful Quebec City.
Harmanna_V, May 2026
The uphill climb after the tour. It was informative regarding the history of the buildings featured and included stories and humour. It was led safely and at a good pace for all in the group.
Jeffrey_R, May 2026
Jean-Simon was very knowledgeable. We could not stump him with our questions. His stories were interesting and informative

Tour is entirely outside. It’s a bit hilly so be prepared but very doable. Tour guide was well informed, engaging and open to receiving the knowledge of others in our group
