Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation
Originally named Broadface in 1763, the Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation was a working rice plantation. It was a 1,286-acre (520-hectare) segment of a 7,000-acre (2,832-hectare) plantation labored by hundreds of enslaved people who resided in more than 50 slave cabins. Today, the Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation Museum features antebellum antiques, heirlooms from the original family, and hiking trails.
