I first visited Barbados on a cruise, which wasn’t enough time to learn about the area's history and enjoy the delicious Caribbean food. I immediately planned my return trip, where I got to explore more of the island, from swimming with turtles in Carlisle Bay to doing a rum tasting at the Mount Gay Rum Visitor Center. With one day in Barbados, you can maximize your time by setting out early to see some of the island and then spending the hotter afternoon hours at the beach.
