Great day visiting Chi Chi

Eduardo and driver Marlon were superb. Excellent information on the culture, politics, economics and history of the Guatemalan/Mayan people. Pace was perfect - not rushed and thoroughly answered our questions. Great way to spend a day. Marlon was an excellent driver in this country filled with motorbikes and serpentine roads.

A good day but a long day.

Long day (11 hours). Know that Chichicastenango and Iximché are not very close to each other so about half the day is driving. That said both are well worth a visit and i felt we had enough time at both places. Our guide was good though did not have much to add during the long drives. Adding wifi to their vans would be nice in the future.

The ruins were very cool....

The ruins were very cool. The shopping had stalls with very similar material and stuff for sale over and over. Very crowded and very aggressive sales people. Having said that I’m glad I did it. Our guide showed us several churches and several vantage points that made the trip worthwhile. Our Guide was personable, knowledgeable, and very experienced. He made the trip.

Dive deep into the part of the culture

The down side amount of travel. The plus sidewas Oscar our guide and Miguel our driver . The sites are amazing and we got to witness some families doing ceremonies in Iximche. The market is a cultural explosion, people are nice, tight spaces and yes sales pitch is strong . Great experience

Market and Lake Attilan

Jorge was wonderful. He speaks very good English and is highly knowledgeable about Guatemala. The market is very interesting. We had a great meal on the water in Lake Attilan. It was cloudy so our view was not great but I’m sure it is on a clear day. It does make for a long day but worth it.
