Our half day tour departs from Swakopmund in the morning or afternoon hours. On this welwitschia and moon landscape tour we explore the rocky granite valley, known as “The Moon Valley”, approximately 30km east of Swakopmund. This amazing landscape was carved out by the Swakop River over time and offers vast ever-changing landscapes. Morning Drive Through Swakopmund We start the day with a slow drive through town, passing some of Swakopmund’s most iconic historical buildings. Other forgotten colonial-era landmarks that still whisper stories of the past. Short refreshment and bathroom break before leaving town for the desert. Enter the Moon Landscape We head into the dramatic valleys of the Moon Landscape, stopping at several viewpoints to admire the scenery that looks like the surface of another planet. Picnic in the Moon Landscape. Visit the Welwitschia Plants Continue into the desert to discover the legendary Welwitschia mirabilis, a true Namibian natural wonder.
