Savor the delicious wines of one of the highest wine routes in the world during this day trip to Cafayate's vineyards. Explore this growing wine region with stops at two wineries for tastings, and enjoy hotel pickup and drop-off from selected Salta accommodations. Take in mountain landscapes and the picturesque Las Conchas River Gorge without worrying about driving.

We will start from the city of Salta, through the center and south of the Lerma Valley, and then enter the Quebrada de las Conchas Nature Reserve. A low-rise 90 km ledge road takes us through a narrow valley surrounded by colorful hills. Here you can admire unique and fascinating mountain formations, carved by wind erosion and rains. The popular imagination has named these formations with names like Devil's Throat, Amphitheater, Toad, Castles, Obelisk, House of Parrots, Titanic, among others. After crossing the Quebrada, we will arrive at our final destination the village of Cafayate, where we will visit a local winery, where you can learn about wine production and taste some of the best wines in the region. You will also have free time and lunch. Finally, we will start the return to the City of Salta Capital along the same path, making some additional technical stops.

Pick-up at your hotel: from here, we travel approximately an hour through the Valle de Lerma to Chicoana, in the heart of Salta’s tobacco region. Passing the picturesque old adobe drying sheds, we arrive at the delightful farm of Cielo Verde for our wine tasting. Cielo Verde means “Green Sky” and it’s named for its location in an enclave of hills extending up into the Yungas cloud forest, and the famous Cuesta del Obispo (the road to Cachi).
