Learn about the uniqueness of wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets), made from natural ingredients such as rice flour and beans, during this small-group experience in Osaka. Prepare nerikiri, a high-quality wagashi, (from white bean paste and glutinous rice flour) and color and customize your sweets to your liking, which you can enjoy at the end of class.

Experience hand-made udon at a Michelin-listed restaurant. You'll get detailed guidance to recreate Udon at home, along with a recipe after the class. If you wish, you can enjoy making udon while sipping Japanese sake or beer. Our chef will cook your noodles and serve them with special broth which is made from all-natural, additive-free ingredients, using kombu, shiitake mushrooms, and katsuobushi (Bonito stock) in beautiful bowls. You can also order side dishes, like tempura or extra udon (they are not included in the fee). Vegetarians are welcome. Let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions. The kitchen studio is a renovated 90 year old house where you can enjoy the wonderful atmosphere. The instructor is a local who grew up eating Japanese home cooking every day. She is a certified dietary education instructor and has over 5 years of experience teaching cooking classes at home and at school. We usually teach children mainly about eating manners and how to hold chopsticks. What is the most important thing to hold chopsticks correctly? The most important thing to hold the chopsticks correctly is the muscle strength of the fingers! I think they are stiff because we usually do not use them at all. If you can move your middle finger, you can use small items and noodles. While training to loosen these muscles, you will actually practice grabbing what you can grab, which will motivate you and make the practice fun. Also, the way you eat shows how you feel about the other person. Are you eating in a pleasant way? You are having difficulty grasping and eating with cross chopsticks or tearing your food with one chopstick at a time. You are eating like a dog. Spill often The way you use chopsticks and the way you eat can change your impression. We all enjoy good food, and having good manners will make it more enjoyable.
