This community use this part of the delta for fishing, reed cutting and the harvesting of water lily bulbs. The mokoro is an integral part of these activities. This tour commences and ends in Maun. This activity is conducted by local mokoro community guides. We offer an unique mokoro day tour as we always brief our clients a day before to make sure they understand and to wear necesary clothes .You will travel with our representative .Arriving at the mokoro station you will meet with the poolers of which one of them is your guide .We outsource this activity from the Community trust so that these people can earn a living . Exploring the waterways in a traditional dugout canoe (mokoro) is highly recommended and a truly unique experience. Gliding silently through clear waters that have been purified by the waterlilies, reeds, papyrus and Kalahari sand that gives guests an unparalleled perspective of the abundant wonders.Sightseeing include hippos and elephants at a distance .
