Things to do in  Havelock Island

The top attractions on Havelock Island are its beaches. The most popular is Radhanagar Beach (Beach No. 7), known for its calm water and powdery white sands. Elephant Beach is also great—it has a more remote vibe than other area beaches, as it's only accessible on foot or by boat.

Give yourself at least three nights on Havelock Island to have time to relax, slow down, and enjoy the pace of the island. However, you could easily spend a week or longer here, particularly if you're fond of water sports or hanging out on the beach.

Sort of. While you won’t find a nightlife scene on Havelock comparable to more party-focused places in India, such as Goa, plenty of beach bars stay open relatively late. Some hotels also organize beach bonfires, but don’t try this alone, as permits are required.

The easiest way to get to Havelock Island from Port Blair is by ferry. Both government-run ferries and private ferries are available. The latter tend to be a little faster. You can also arrange a helicopter transfer, but this is expensive.

Havelock Island has lots of opportunities for water sports. Snorkeling is particularly popular and a great way to see marine life. It also doesn’t require prior experience. Certified divers can opt for scuba diving excursions. Other popular water sports include jet-skiing and sea kayaking.

While you never know just what types of marine life you spot while snorkeling off the coast of Havelock Island, you'll likely see all sorts of tropical fish, including clownfish, parrotfish, and angelfish. You're likely to see coral and, if you're lucky, sea turtles.
