Top Hamburg On the Water

How much Hamburg can you pack into one hour? A lot. On this guided harbor cruise, you'll get an on-the-water look at the UNESCO-designated Speicherstadt, see the new HafenCity, float past the Elbphilharmonie, Hamburger Fischmarkt, Elbe Beach, and much more (stops dependent on the size of your barge). For those with jam-packed schedules, this tour gets you quickly acquainted with the city's best sights—so you can see it all.

Experience Hamburg's port attractions from a unique perspective: Cruise past impressive container ships and discover the historic Speicherstadt on a 1.5-hour harbor tour with live commentary from a German-speaking guide and an exclusive stop at the Elbphilharmonie. Start your adventure at the Überseebrücke and board a traditional Hamburg barge. The captain adapts the route depending on the weather, tides or special events in the harbor. Glide through the narrow waterways of the Speicherstadt and admire the impressive brick architecture. Enjoy the fresh breeze and the HafenCity while relaxing on deck. Passing huge container ships, the guide will tell you interesting details about the harbor's landmarks. At the end, you can disembark at the Elbphilharmonie or return to the starting point.

Explore Hamburg's Outer Alster Lake aboard a two-masted wooden sailboat and discover the appeal of old-style sailing as you glide past some of the city's sights. Use your time on deck to help set the sails, or leave the boat in the hands of your experienced captain and instead focus on the view: Hamburg City Hall and St. Michaelis Church are among the sights.

As my guests you will have the unique opportunity to discover Europe's third biggest harbor on board of a modern 42' sailing yacht. We will make maneuvers just in front of the Elbphilharmonie (The iconic concert hall of Hamburg), cruise along the maritime skyline and see the biggest container ships in the world from very close! As a true Hamburg resident and passionate sailor, I will tell you things you wouldn´t expect about the port of Hamburg while you are enjoying the winds and tides. We will try to present the content of our tours in English. However, there is no entitlement to this. In any case, the entertainment value is always high!

The floating haven of peace on the Alster. An old but well-maintained gondola from Venice and flagship of the Azzurro e.V. rowing club in Hamburg; freshly inspected by a ship expert and approved by the Waterways Authority... The Venetians' floating Rolls Royce has been at home in Hamburg, the Venice of the North, for many years and is often rowed at a sporty pace by up to 4 rowers in the club. We finance part of the maintenance costs, the berth rental and, if it is enough, part of the travel costs for participation in regattas in Italy through guest trips. Your gondolier Carlo was trained in Venice, has been allowed to drive the gondola on the Grand Canal there since 2009, has been the first to cross the finish line at regattas since 2021 and likes to talk about gondolas, Hamburg and Venice. There is no fixed route because the weather and traffic situation on the water must be taken into account. Take a seat on the soft cushions and enjoy!
