Ulsanbawi best hike with a guide
The tour was perfectly corresponding to the description ! It was such a great experience and discovery : first the landscape was outstanding, then our guide (Kim) was great. He knows perfectly the place, and let us walk at our own pace. Also he gave us the opportunity to discover South Korea culture and history, and explanation all along the trail, what I really appreciate.
Transportation was very smooth, the road was beautiful and the timing was perfect. Communication for preparing hike and pick-up was easy.
Thank you so much for this amazing day, we will never forget it !

Unforgettable
The whole experience was absolutely incredible and one I will never forget. James gave us such a phenomenal history of Korea and important context for everything we saw, ate, and did. It was the best part of our whole trip and we are so grateful.

Mr. Kim was a fantastic guide! He is very knowledgeable about geology and trees. We enjoyed conversing with him about Korea and many other subjects. The Ulsanbawi hike was challenging but amazing hike! I highly recommend this trip even though it is a lot of driving.

Best memory in Korea
We are so grateful for Jonas!
He was a wonderful guide! Jones allowed us to choose the path and encouraged us to climb higher even with kids.
We will never forget the time what we spent in the Mt Seorak. It was beautiful in autumn time. After the hike we have visited also the Buddhist temple and learned about the religions in South Korea.
At the end we had the dinner. The taste of the chicken soup is amazing! All of us became South Korean food lover, it was just so delicious!
Thank you so much for this wonderful day, long transport and meal!

Beautiful & insightful
Mt. Seorak was more beautiful than the photos, and there were plenty of hiking options to accommodate all levels. The temple was very cool to see, especially since it’s a functioning temple with monks. The city of Sokcho has a very rich history and unique cuisine, which Juno explained in detail throughout the tour. Juno was an exceptional tour guide, with deep knowledge of Korean history and customs. He was so pleasant & amiable, one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had!

Challenging Hike with a Fantastic Guide!
This hike is best suited for experienced hikers, but it was absolutely worth the effort! We explored a beautiful temple, drank fresh water from a grotto, took a scenic cable car ride, and met fellow travelers from around the world along the trail.
Our guide, Mr. Kim, was outstanding—friendly, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. He shared insights about Korean history, local plants and wildlife, and even explained how traffic and transportation systems work in the area. He made the day both educational and fun. Highly recommend this tour if you’re looking for a deeper cultural and natural experience in Korea!

Fantastic day out with Juno!
Amazing! If I could give more stars I would! We had a private trip with our guide Juno. He could not be faulted, was punctual, spoke great English, very knowledgeable, accommodating and patient. We had a little girl with us who wanted to take things slowly and Juno was extremely patient and we still got to do everything, so I am very grateful for that.
He knew all the right places to go, all the things to show and shared a lot of insight into the Korean history and culture. All that and he even took great family photos for us.
Everyone needs a tour with Juno!!

Beautiful hike past temples with views of snowy peaks
We really enjoyed our chance to see the beautiful nature side of Korea outside the city with this tour. Our guide, Chansoo (Chance), picked us up right on time from our hotel and we had a comfortable vehicle for our journey to Seoraksan. He spoke excellent English and was knowledgeable on a wide range of topics and we kept the conversation going for much of the journey and our hike. The hike begins with a beautiful temple and large Buddha statue. It was stunning against the backdrop of the snowy peaks. Most of the trail was steep, well manicured stairs up, up, and up to the top of Ulsanbawi Rock - a unique rock formation that stood out from the rest of the mountainous landscape. Though our trip was on March 19, we experienced a light snow storm at the summit! There was also some remaining winter snow on parts of the trail. We were glad we had prepared for cold, wind and rain despite the sunny start to the day. Throughout the hike, Chance pointed out interesting landmarks and views and kindly took photos of us along the way. He loves hiking and the mountains and it was wonderful to be around someone who loves what they do. He was also open to questions we had about the local culture, history, food…we even talked movies and cars and outdoor apparel! We capped off the hike with a visit to a nearby coastal town for some hot and comforting army stew and a spin through the local market. Meals were not included in the tour, but he still allowed time for us to eat, we just had to cover that cost which was fine. Overall highly recommend taking this trip with Chance if you enjoy hiking and the outdoors. Be warned that while it’s a relatively short hike, it is steep with a LOT of stairs if you have any mobility issues.

Best Day of my Trip to Korea!
This review is long overdue! I had an amazing experience hiking in Seoraksan Park with Chance. This was day two of two days in a row hiking with Chance. The first day we hiked Bukhansan and the next day we went to Seoraksan Park. The day started with a hotel pick-up and then we drove to the park. Chance was knowledgeable about the mountains, best route for my ability, where to park and all the other factors for a successful day of hiking. The drive from Seoul was close to three hours. He was a good driver and also easy to talk to. We drove through many tunnels including a seven mile tunnel! Close to half way through the ride we stopped at a rest stop along the highway and enjoyed some coffee to keep us energized for the hike. When we got to the park we first visited some of the cultural sights at the base of the park and then began to climb to Ulsanbawi. It began on the easier side and then after the last temple, Chance said this is where the hike starts, and he was definitely right. It got steeper and the climb truly began here. We then continued up some very steep stairs to the summit where we had sweeping views of the mountains to one side, and the sea to the other. As an added bonus, Chance brought boiling water to make Ramen noodles for lunch. We enjoyed the lunch tucked into a small protected area and for added comfort Chance brought up two small hiking stools. A fellow hiker was so intrigued with the mountain top lunch he asked to take our photo. After lunch we enjoyed a small cup of coffee from the remaining hot water, and then began the steep climb down to the car. On the way out of the town, we next stopped at a nearby market and had a traditional after-hike snack of Korean pancakes. This was a positively outstanding experience! I would rank this day as the highlight of my nine day trip to Korea.
