We’re hitting the road at 05h00. As you know wildlife, especially predators, are most active around dawn and dusk. Hluhluwe-Imfolozi is renowned for White Rhino — after all it saved the Southern White Rhino from extinction. A brilliant insight into a part of British history. Our tour guide had knowledge and background details that were fascinating about both of these famous and infamous battles. Amazing stories of heroism and giving an insight into Colonial mentality and also the Zulu world. I would encourage anyone interested in history to take this tour. It might be a long drive there and back but not to go then you would live with regret.

Exceptional experience

This was definitely one the best experiences I've had in my 2.5 months in South Africa. The views were absolutely spectacular and my guide and driver Wonder, was exceptional. It is a long drive but the company had a very well maintained, clean 4x4 and Wonder was very accommodating to multiple stops along the way for toilet and snack breaks. Historical must see

If you are into British historical events then this is a must see place. Our guide/driver was well informed and provided heaps of information including listening to a audiobook of the events pre/post the battles and the battles themselves. The trip out from Durbin took four hours there and fours back on poor sealed and unsealed roads although the scenery was quite picturesque. Bringing a packed lunch and drinks is essential.

The tour was very comprehensive, not exactly what we thought we would be doing, but it was okay. There was a mixup at the beginning with others booked for a tour, but it was resolved, accommodations were made and we and another couple headed off in a separate vehicle. We had a nice day touring the area and seeing the important sights in Durban.
