Knowing our guide was actually a taxi who did not speak English we all got along with our Google Translate We developed our own itinerary and was able to see everything we wanted to.. so do your research and learn a few words in Japanese

Very nice driver who communicated with a cell phone translator app which worked quite well. We saw the local sights and had a very nice English speaking guide at the Honma residence.

We liked it. There was trouble with the drivers translation app so we used ours. We didn’t get any English guide pages but we managed just fine. We didn’t get to the last stop for some reason. Overall good day

When it says English, written. They do not speak or read English. Bogus claim. Very disappointed. Not in the driver, in Viator fir the deception.

On Viator, the language setting is displayed as “English - Written,” which is intended to indicate written English support rather than spoken guiding service. However, we fully understand that this wording on the Viator platform can be confusing and may create different expectations.

We had an outstanding day touring the highlights of Sakata. Our driver—Yamaguchi—was superb. We had a very memorable day for all of us Our driver made all the difference allowing very flexible time for meeting our needs. The cherry blossoms in full bloom were so inspiring in the sunlight. The sites on this tour were perfect. Easy to see on a beautiful day. The Cherry blossoms were in full bloom.
Our guide did not speak English but through the use of her phone we were able establish meeting times. A schedule was set and she followed it. Very polite and made sure we know how to get around. Thank you for a great day.

We enjoyed the town and our guide was very polite. We were just surprised that our guide didn’t speak English, we would have liked to have someone teaching us about the places we were visiting.
