Loved this tour of the Lake District!

Johnny_B, Jun 2025
The Lakes District is a great place to visit! The landscape is breathtaking! Our tour guide, Tim, was very knowledgeable, interesting, and funny! We loved this tour!

Beautiful lake views!

Stephanie_R, May 2025
A really nice experience with a few sweet ladies to take us around. I really loved seeing everything. My only comment that could be negative is the bus was VERY crowded. We could barely fit in the back with our long legs and then couldn't see out of the window for every passby. I would highly recommend reducing the tour number to allow everyone to have a window or do a different bus with a bit more room. Maybe just a four seater with four chairs.

The guide was very good....

The guide was very good. The stone circles were really interesting and you can go right up to the stones, unlike at Stonehenge.

Definitely recommend this company and tour guide, Tim!

Christine_B, Apr 2025
Highly recommend Tim and this tour company for a worthwhile, in-depth overview of the Lake District! We did this tour on our first day in the area, which was a fantastic way to get introduced to the Lake District and see a whole lot in a short time. Tim cheerfully provided all sorts of background, history and detail as we drove past many lakes and through scenic towns. We stopped frequently and - despite covering a lot in only half a day - we did not feel that we were stuck in the car the whole time by any means. It may sound funny, but this was sortof like a city 'hop on hop off bus' experience (in the very nicest way) but for the countryside of the Lake District, in that you really cover a lot of ground and learn context of the area up front, so you feel you've got a good overview and can go back later on your own to explore specific spots in more detail (which is what we did, like Rydal Water, Grasmere and Keswick for some examples). Or if you don't get back to a spot, at least you've seen it and know it's there (like Castlerigge stone circle, for example). We were also lucky in that it was a little bit before the Season (early April), and we had the tour and Tim to ourselves .That said, the van size would keep the group to a small number and it would have been equally pleasant to have others in our group.

Hidden Lake District

Tristan_D, Mar 2025
A fantastic tour which took us off the beaten path. Tim has a fantastic knowledge of the area and it's history. Nice stops for photo opportunities along the way. Great way to spend the afternoon.

A Memorable guided Tour with Stunning Views.

I recently took the 8 Lakes and magnificent sceneries afternoon tour, and it was an unforgettable experience. The breathtaking panoramic views alone are worth the trip, providing postcard-perfect moments at every turn. The incredibly knowledgeable guide, whose passion for the area made history come alive. Unfortunately, I forgot to note the name of the guide, but he was outstanding—engaging, insightful, and able to answer every question with ease. This tour is perfect for everyone. The trip was worth every penny, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a mix of history of the Lake District and the scenic beauty, and entertainment.

Very nice experience

The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and touring with a small intimate group is a nice way to go. We stopped at some lovely spots with incredible views, and got some great photos.

An Enjoyable Bus Tour of 8 Lakes.

CathyOffer, Jun 2024
The beauty of the Lake District never disappoints, no matter the season, even on a rainy day but despite that Gillian was very informative and the group interactive, so I learnt a lot and enjoyed the history, local stories and legends. It was a 'driving tour' with 4 hours on the bus, alighting briefly at a few placesSandra drove very well and we felt safe at all times. I would highly recommend this tour.

Super afternoon tour of the Lake District

Danuta_B, Jun 2024
Wonderful anecdotes and insights from our driver. Saw an awful lot and at a good pace - did not feel rushed. Wonderful variety of landscape and got a really good overview of the essence of the Lake District. Only 6 of us - nice and cost and friendly

A wonderful introduction to the Lake District!

MaryPat_P, Jun 2024
Even though we had a rainy day, we saw beautiful views and charming towns in our tour of the Lake District. Tim was an excellent, knowledgeable guide! We loved that there were only six passengers in the group, making it easy to stop at various places and ask questions.

Had an amazing afternoon on this tour. Our driver Tim was very knowledgeable and friendly. Stopped at some unusual places that we would not have seen had we been driving ourselves. So enjoyable that the time flew past. Would definately book again

We were taken to places we would never have gone to on our own, a fascinating experience. Greatful thanks to Gillian, our guide who kept us informed and entertained throughout, and to Sandra, whose exemplary driving inspired confidence on these very tricky roads.

Best Tour Around

Baljinder_D, Apr 2024
Thank you for an amazing tour by the most helpful, interesting and well informed tour guide who provided an in- depth experience like no other, answering all our questions and taking us to the best and most picturesque viewpoints that we would not have ourselves witnessed otherwise. The trip was definitely enhanced because of Tim’s incredible fact-based story telling ability. We would highly recommend this tour!

Amazing tour experience

We had an amazing experience on our half day trip in lake district. Our tour guide were very accommodating and knowledgeable on the history of Lake District and other interesting facts they shared.

Fun Tour

Kara_L, Apr 2024
Fabulous tour through the Lake District. I highly recommend it as the first thing to do. Tim was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. The itinerary stipulated a boat tour on Ullswater, but we were told that was part of another tour or in a different season (I don’t remember). Double-check upon starting the tour.

Great

Samson_i, Oct 2023
Although rainy day , the guide and the driver ladies are very enjoyed introducing and sharing information about tourist attractions.

A wonderful, value-for-money experience

Sally_H, Sep 2023
Our guide Steve was fantastic. The 3 hours in his company, with his excellent commentary, just flew past. He was knowledgeable, humorous & helpful. It was only at the end that I told him I had been a Trafalgar Tour Manager & so could really gauge how excellent he was. I loved every minute of retracing lovely places.

Wonderful tour with great tour guide.

Our guide Tim was a skilled driver and was very helpful and knowledgeable. He also showed us one of Beatrix Potter's properties that was used as a filming location! It was a beautiful sunny day out on our trip and the views were amazing.

Outstanding tour guide and driver. Beautiful scenery, with stops at key locations. Friendly and highly informative description of the Lake District, including history and geography. A marvelous afternoon traveling on back roads that we would never attempt on our own.
