Fantastic Chinatown food tour with Rene—his expert knowledge of the hawker centres together with his deep historical insights brought the area to life. His knowledge of the development of Singapore was extensive.
We sampled amazing dishes from two top hawker centres, each stop thoughtfully chosen. A perfect blend of culture, storytelling, and delicious local flavours.

We had a great time with our guide Rene. He offered history and insight to Singapore. He took us to the hawker halls and picked out a wide variety of food and drink to try. It gave us the opportunity to try things we might not have considered.
Along with the food tour, Rene took us around Chinatown to show us sites. We were able to get into one of the temples and also got into the city planner’s building where they have a fabulous area that shows both history and future plans for the growth of Singapore. This was very informative.
We really enjoyed our time with Rene and would definitely do another tour with Rene if we return to Singapore. Definitely 5+ star tour.

We loved our tour with Rene! Not only did he take you on a tour of some great hawker centres, but he also takes you and shows you about the history and future of Singapore.

Excellent Tour led by Rene, a Singaporean passionate about his City . Boy was I the ' Lucky one . I had a most informative and enjoyable tour of the Chinatown Hawker Centre and Marketplace and ' eateries ' and learned lots of local tips which would help me over my stay in Singapore. I say Lucky because I was the sole client for Rene on this particular Tour. Being the only client made my tour far more personal and I was able to gain greater insight into Singapore's History and Culture and Cuisines on a one to one basis. Rene was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Singapore but also of other countries cultures , because he is dealing with tourists on a daily basis.I cannot recommend this tour more highly. Food choice was varied and tasty. I had a light breakfast in my hotel the morning of my tour and travelled by MRT to the meeting point. I would give yourself a bit of leeway time wise to allow for finding the meeting point at Chinatown MRT as I exited the station from the wrong exit . Once found it is a logical meeting point so just give yourself extra time.Thank you Rene - you sold it ! Ill be back !

The tour is a great way to try many local dishes from Chinatown while learning about the history of the area. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided great insight into the country. Although you are provided with an abundance of food from the local stalls twice during the tour I would have preferred if the food was provided over the length of the tour. Overall the tour was good and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys eating great food and trying new things.
