Amazing! Absolutely worth the visit. I went a bit too early and had to wait for the sunset (which is a spectacle itself) so I'd recommend going there closer to the sunset time. The full visit around the museum takes about 1h/1h30.

Expensive

Expensive because the experience is too short and limited. Expensive because the experience is too short and limited.

Recommend a visit here!

Wonderful experience! Beautiful, interesting vision with a historic personal vision now shared with the public. Wish we were staying longer to experience the sunset views!

Can’t get my ticket....

Jacob_W, Feb 2026
Can’t get my ticket. Waste of time and money. Says to go in the email in the app, and then the email brings me to the app. Stupid circle that contradicts itself. Just buy your ticket here.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Dear Jacob, We regret that you had trouble purchasing the tickets. If you haven't visited yet, I can send you the tickets in PDF format. Best regards Carla

Must see in Punta del Est

Pedro_D, Jan 2026
Beautiful place. Worth the visit. went with my partner who has totally different ideas about travelling and we both loved it.

Worth a visit

Leonardo_S, Dec 2025
The place is nice, but it is very crowded on sunset. It is a good experience overall. Be aware of direct sunlight after 5 pm. There could be more information on how it workds, where to go, what to do, but staff is very friendly.

Ana_L, Dec 2025
A must see! Especially during sunset but should arrive early (at least an hour) in December. Lots of stairs though

Best experience

This was an amazing experience. You must go! The story, the art, the place, the food and the view will be etched in my mind forever.

Beautiful place! Amazing sunset with a view to the shores. The bar is good with good music and lovely atmosphere

No problem with the tour,...

anafloripa, Aug 2025
No problem with the tour, but with Casapueblo itself. Beautiful, but waaaay to crowded. Expensive, also. No place to sit at all. Took my parents, that are elderly, and it was very unconfortable for them.

Great day at Casa Pueblo

Delfina_M, Aug 2025
It's super interesting, beautiful, and the views, the architecture are fabulous. All the stuff are very nice and helpful.

There is really only one...

Christopher_R, Apr 2025
There is really only one location that is accessible to take photos of the facade, which is near the pool. The hotel part is not accessible from the museum and the only other entrance had security, so I don't know that the hotel itself is even accessible to non-hotel guests. The art on display is a good demonstration of the artists' work, but most people seemed to be just going to take their photos.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Dear visitor, Thank you for talking the time to share your experience at Casapueblo Museum. We´re sorry to hear you weren´t able to capture the photos you were hoping for. Casapueblo is a unique and expansive construction, and it´s full dimension can only truly be appreciated from the sea or certain panoramic viewpoints a t a distance. Within the Museum, visitors can enjoy various pespectives and architectural details reflect the essence of Carlos Páez Vilaro´s vision. Regarding the hotel area, we understand your concern. It´s important to note that the Museum an the Club Hotel Casapueblo are two separate ventures, even though they share the same building designed by the artist himself. The hotel isn´t part of ther Museum tour as it operates independently. For aby inquiries related to the section, you may contact them directly at operaciones@clubhotelcasapueblo.com We´re glad to know you enjoyed the art on display and appreciated the work of the artist. We truly value when people take the time to conncet with the deeper message and artistic legacy that lives within these walls. We hope to welcome you again in the future and that your next visit brings an even ricjer experience. Kind regard, Carolina Casapueblo Museum Team

Nice that I paid ro skip the line at Casapueblo but....

Jody_A, Feb 2025
Meh. The guide only gave us 30 minutes to watch the film about Carlis Vilaro and tour the different room. For the money you're asking and the amount of time to get there, we NEED to spend more time there....Something to consider next time!

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Dear Jody, We regret the bad experience. The museum tour is estimated to take between 30-45 minutes; however, it is a self-paced visit. In your case, you visited as part of a tour, where the guide determinates the timing, witch is beyond our responsibility. Best regards Carla

Most of the house turned...

Igor_N, Feb 2025
Most of the house turned into a hotel, so there’s little left to look at. I was expecting more distinct spaces to visit and take photos, but what was available to us was nice. There’s no way to visit Punta without going to it.

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Thank you very much for your comment! We are proud to know that the place meets your expectatioms. We look forward to welcoming you again whenever you like. Best regards, The Museum Team

Casapueblo

Leandro_T, Jan 2025
Casapueblo is a beautiful place to visit. There is a lot of art and the sun ceremony is very moving, but on the day I visited there was very loud music coming from the lower part, where there are pools. Unfortunately, in my opinion, this really spoiled the experience of the sun ceremony.

Rip off

Debra_A, Jan 2025
There is no English guides. We walked the limited area in less than 1/2 hour. View great. There were no lines

Amazing views and a great experience

Thaciane_S, Jan 2025
The museum is stunning and this skip the line option is a must have. We arrived in two different groups (we were seven people split into two cars) with only one ticket and the staff was very kind letting us enter at different times. The views are amazing and the art work of Carlos Páez Vilaró is one of a kind. Great option for anyone who visits Punta del Este.

The view is beautiful

Isabel_M, Jan 2025
an incredible and pleasant experience, the view and local architecture are extraordinary, lots of photos

Beautiful

Suzana_M, Jan 2025
Beautiful sunset ceremony, but always crowded.. you have to arrive early and check the sunset hour for the visiting day.

Perfect

Beatriz_T, Oct 2024
It’s a must see place! Beautiful and incredible. Lots of art and nature. Vilaró was such a great artist and it’s possible to see all his history in Casapueblo

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Thank you very much for visiting the museum and for your lovely opinion.

Place recommended to visit

Leandro_P, Oct 2024
Easy in buy and commodity. Recommend to which will to Uruguay by first time. Take many photos in each place of the Casa Pueblo

Good visit

lida_L, Oct 2024
The museum is very small, but worth visiting. It's possible to know the artist's history. The building is very interesting and the localization is beautiful in front of the ocean.

The most beautiful sunset ever

Amanda_R, Sep 2024
Amazing place, with amazing surroundings. The sun cerimony was something unforgettable - I went without any expectations, thinking that was just BS for tourists… but it turned out to be the most beatiful sunset I ever saw.

Mesmerizing experience

Andre_S, Apr 2024
The most incredible experience i’ve had in Uruguay. Doubtless, I want to come back to watch that amazing sunset and hear the Ceremonia del Sol once again. Everyone should go there at least one time in this lifetime.

Peace

MARIA_D, Feb 2024
Sightseeing from here is totally wonderful. It is a great place to appreciate local artist works and to feel the power of the sun on the sea waves.

Casapueblo

Marcos_M, Feb 2024
Beautiful place. It has a great view. I would only recommend that you have public transportation to get there.

Magical place

Vanesa_S, Jan 2024
Magic pleasure. Must go if in Punta Ballena 🐳 The view is perfect. The sunset ceremony is an event. The poem that goes with it is a dream. You have to live it.
